since your covering the drywall over....punch a few discovery holes to see if each wall is vapour barriered.....shops /garages are not mandatory to be insulated so a building inspector has little to say about them at the insulation stage with the exception of a partion wall between "habitable space" and a garage....its pretty much what the builder wants to do....so your going to have to discover what he did do so you dont create a double barrier....(partiton to the garage/shop) If this is a feestanding shop not attached to any habitable space then do your discover holes ....if there is no vapour barrier then proceed to use 6 mil polly on the warm side of the wall/strapping in this case...tuct tape everything with no penitrations/openings what so ever to perfection ( be anal at sealing everything around windows and transition to the ceiling).... If you have any questions feel free to PM me .. Merry Christmas

alright Gerrit ....at first i didnt know how to respond to this ...sadness from you loss or joyess that you found a reason to find a reason to somehow enjoy this time of year....heres some answers to your questions...... what would he want to see under the tree? ....Anything HUGE with tons oF BLINDING light that makes exsessive noise beyond the decibal ratings of a parents ears........., would he still believe in Santa Claus?,............of course not .....no child of yours would beleive in the tooth fairy either....but they would know how to keep a secret and learn to split the profits of coookies/milk and pillow money......... would he still help me setup the tree?,.......of course he would....just to prove to you that he is as good if not better than you ....at the task at hand...... would he leave out milk and cookies?,....absolutltly he would....and he would help you eat them too as to not ruin the perception of the younger siblings....... how tall would he be?, .....based ONLY on the pictures ive seen of you....probably more girth then height.... what would his personality have been like?,............chip off the ole mans block....... would he of been a kind kid?,...of course.....{mom had a little bit to do with the construction too)...... ......what would his hobbies of been?,......fishing fishing and hockey...what else is there? what sports would he want to play?,refer back to dads influences of fishing fishing and hockey....hopefully mom has no influence of ballet and curlig.... would he still want to hang out with dad @ 11?,....you know he would....but it might be a different anwser at the age of 24....not that your ugly though! Would he still let me hug him without getting all embarrassed?......at the age of 11???Hell yeah!!! 17 or so YOU might feel more embarrassed then him....but im quite confident he would love it (as long as his friends werent around) Gerrit .....i cant imagine to feel what you have unfortunatly have had to endure....but i do know the love that goes between a father and son...{as conflicted and compassionate as it can be at all ages (up to 25 anyways) ....i wish you and yours the very best...(not only at this time of year) Cheers to your post of love/respect and tribute to never forget who....makes you who...you are

Peanut was a lucky dog to have humans like you and your family Bruce...a very nice tribute and my sympathy for your loss...Im sure Peanut can never be replaced by any other pet but from the compassion you display towards animals....dont deprive yourself of a new family member....i did just that for 15 years after losing my "best friend"(Aussie) and found myself incomplete until our Golden Retriever came into our lives not as a replacement by any means after 15 years ....but our new addition deserves to have us as her humans as much as we deserve to have all the joys that she provides us with... Peanut did a great job training you ....share that with your next family member Condolences

i think the best direction would be to pulverize or heavy rake the laneway...to disturb the top layers of aggregate....if the snow happens sooner then later...you can snowblow the glass along with some of your aggregate over to the neighbours as im sure he is going to have excavation and new landscaping sometime in the near future another option is to run around your property without shoes....youll find the small shards that you cant see... (someone had to say it }

Lew your pride of your son shines through from your font and pictures....my deepest condolences on this tragic anniversary...there isnt a day that goes by that i wish my son would choose a different profession but the discription you portrayed of Jim is identical to mine (now 25)...so i can relate on what were probably your biggest fears at the time...im truely sorry that they came to fruition...but like my son...they do what they love and lived to do.... and that is not a sad thing....sadness would have come from caging these free spirit men from being who they are in life... Much respect to you and your wife on this day from a father who fears to a family that knows the only feeling a human isnt designed to feel Gerrit - my condolences to you and yours aswell Dave

Which fishing year would you consider to be your very best?

Im going to have to say 2001 has been the best for me ...my 12 year old son (at the time) started fishing with me as a team in derbies...it was time to teach him the ins/outs/ups and downs of derby fishing for salmon and rainbows on lake Huron..my goal was to get his name on the leaderboard and he acheived that with a rainbow in the trout catagory weighing in at 14+ pounds....his first monster....( i can still hear his screams of excitement when he seen the big male slide into the net ...what a celebration we had out on the water....my goal was achieved....now it was time to place my name on the board in the salmon catagory....although there were many fish (salmon 57, lakers 4,) we caught over the next days to the end of the derby...it wasnt until the last day of the derby i hooked into the the winning fish (26+ pounds...and proved to my son that persistence, sleep deprivation and FUN has it rewards....between the two of us we pulled tens of thousands of dollars in prizes for that derby.... Home for a couple of weeks to regroup/recover then off to the next derby on Georgian....applying the same techniques of determination we out fished EVERYONE... day in and day out... but with nothing significant to put his name on the board...UNTIL.... we find ourselves all alone in the dark (no moon) about 11 miles out in 290 feet of water and the rod fires off almost ripping out of the holder..my son grabs it and after a thirty or so minute battle of him and a King that used the depth many times to its advantage he lands the fish into the net...at this very moment he became a Salmon fisherman for life!!! The fish weighed in at 24+ pounds and would have secured second place prizes for that day but the scales were closed ( by a few minutes)....That was his WIN!!! My win came in the form of...the boat ride comming back in with this fish is one of the most satisfying moments of my life as the water was as flat as glass...the sky blanketed in blackness with millions of little pinholes in it....the scream of the 140 horse Merc racing against the clock and my son standing beside me on watch with the anticipation of bettering me from the last derby as we flew into the sound.... Prizes or no prizes...the memories and quality of time spent with the ones you love..... are the real trophies and now that he is an adult and travels all over the country for his work eveytimne i see him come home ...that "boat ride" feeling comes back when i see his smiling face.....and that alone ...is what makes it my BEST year of fishing ....yes i still win Deries and stuff but it isnt the same without him by my side...too bad kids have to grow up Cheers -
my father-out-law just bought one and lucky me ...i get to put it up for him (76 yrears old) ....im thinking if they require cleaning off the roof after a snowfall ....im going to get the pleasure of that task too....
