  1. On a smaller engine like that I would go with the 2 stroke. The new technology makes them very fuel efficient, they are lighter weight, and have more low end power. They travel better too if they are going to be left in a position other than upright. There are more reasons but as a small engine technician, if I was buying one that I intended to transport and in that size range, I would put my money in a 2 stroke.
  2. Good work Bruce, without you, none of this would have happened! It isn't a solution but at least it is a start. Just let us know what we have to do to keep the pressure on until a solution is reached. 100's if not thousands are watching!
  3. I can hardly wait until next year, I'm going to call in a complaint on myself and have them come and check for a license, then I'm going to tell them I don't have one! I'll wait until they finish writing up the ticket before I explain that I'm 65 LOL. (Just kidding, I wouldn't waste their time on such nonsense) they do a good job considering the resources they have to work with.
  4. Agression in a family pet can not be tolerated especially if uncontroled. Curb it now or you will end up having to put her down one of these days. Hopfully before she bites a child and does some serious damage. She is already starting to show trates (not listening to commands) which you must correct now. A good trainer will teach you how to do that. The next time she chooses to ignor you, do not repeat the command. Go and get her, bring her back to where you were when you called her, scold her. If she shows any agression, grab her by the scruff of the neck, filp her on her back, and hold her there until she submits. She is testing you and right now she is winning! She has learned that there are no consequences she wouldn't be allowed to act like that in a pack environment. You must be her pack leader or she will be yours.
  5. You should have just tried the NokOut first, I did some marketing work for them a couple of years ago. it actually kills the bacteria that causes the smell and it is 100% safe to use even for people with alergies. We use to do a demo with amonia, spray the amonia on our hand, spray NokOut on it, let it dry for about 30 seconds and you could actually lick your hand. The amonia was nutralized and all traces of the odor were gone. (and no, I don't work for them) We use it to sanatise our counter tops, I use it in my live well in the boat, and it works wonders for killing odors when hunting. remove skunk odors from your dog, liter boxes, smelly shoes and sports gear. If you were closer, I'd give you some to try!
  6. I haven't had the problem at all! (so far)
  7. What ever you do, don't challange Roy to a beer drinking contest, he'll sleep you into a stupor you'll never forget!
  8. NokOut! Enzimes work well but oxidizers work even better and are 100% safe. This stuff even works on skunk. It actually nutrilizes the cause of the smell. It is even used in water purification. something died in Sue's car last year, the smell was horrid, we tried a bunch of different stuff, nothing lasted more than a day or two. Then we used this stuff, within a day the smell was gone and didn't come back. We always keep a bottle in the house. NokOut
  9. I have had dealings with dog Trainers I was very impressed with them, they truly are professionals. I know it is a bit of a drive from Guelph but well worth it. Cliff
  10. That was priceless!
  11. I first got started on this site about 10 years ago and they just won't kick me off 9lord knows I probably should have been a couple of times LOL). I have made so many wonderful friends through this site (some I haven't even met in person yet) and if I even dare to suggest that I need help with anything there never seems to be a shortage of offers to help. A couple of years ago when I needed help to put my docks in 16 people showed up on the coldest windyest day in the spring and put the docks in for me. (I have since redesigined the docks so they are manageable with 2 people). I love the way we can learn, laugh (and cry) together at times, rally around to help someone in need and just be there if the occasion warrents it. To me, it is more than just a website! Without OFC, I wouldn't have this: This is family to me.
  12. I'm already here! Just walk down to the boathouse, open the door, flip a switch, boat goes in the water, I go fishing. When I'm done for the day, or the season I just drive the boat back into the cradle, flip a switch, boat gets parked in the boathouse all nice and dry and safe. We catch walleye, muskie, bass, carp, and all sorts of pan fish right off the dock and it isn't unheard of in the fall to take the 12 gauge down to the dock while fishing and come back up to the house with a goose or duck and a couple of nice walleye. We are 10 minutes to town and a very good hospital (older people tend to consider things like that more) I can walk into the butcher shop, drug store,....... and people know my name. It is a beautiful rural community. There is plenty of work for those that want to work, property in the area is an excellent investment but there is still plenty of affordable housing for those just getting started. I can be deer, turkey, or bird hunting in less than 5 minutes from my house, actually we often see deer and turkey close enough that we could shoot them right from our own yard. Even if we were to move from this house for any reason I'd still stay in the area.
  13. Did you take the top vent plug out as well? When you pulled the plugs did you check to make sure they weren't damaged?
  14. I need someone to help me check in places I can't see. SWF only need apply
  15. use sawdust on your hands, you will find that after picking a couple of worms your hands will be wet and the worms slip through your fingers, I just take a small can of sawdust and dip mu fingers in it as I am picking worms, you will find it really helps. As for keeping them. Go to CTC or somewhere and get a bag of compost, I keep a box of worms in the fridge and they will last for several weeks. I use a styrofoam worm flat about 16" X 16" X 4" deep and you can keep 4-500 worms in there no problem (I disconected the light kill switch on the fridge so the light stays on all the time) and you don't even have to put a cover on the box. The other alternative is go and buy some from a wholesaler $30.00 for 500 last time I checked. Sure beats getting a sore back!
  16. The first thing I would do before you start rebuilding the carb is pressure test the fuel lines from the tank to the carb. A small air leak could easily cause the problem you are describing. System should hold 5 psi pressure. You'll need a leak down tester.
  17. Thanks Peter but I need one for this weekend, I may just have to make a sales call in Peterborough LOL.
  18. Well, they were last weekend. I hadn't planned on going out last night but the rain didn't materialize so I snuck out for a bit. One of the places we were pounding them last weekend netted me one mid size fish. I think finding them again is going to take some work, water temps are changing too fast right now. It is making them hard to locate.
  19. Steve, save some of that smoked cat fish for me, I'll trade you some jerkey or pepperetts or my daughter or my dog (Ok, Ok, maybe not the dog)for some! I might even bring some home and try making jerkey from it.
  20. Slipped out for a bit last night on Sturgeon since the rain let up, only caught one in a place we were pounding them last weekend. Guess I'll have to expand my search. Water temps are changing fast with the wind and rain and that could have something to do with it.
  21. Wish we had a Costco here, I need a new battery for my boat winch.
  22. It is called "my friend pulled a turtle" LOL I put my dock in last weekend, water temp 48.6°. I'm still waiting for my friend to stick his head out LOL!
  23. Tresspass on my property with the intent of taking anything that belongs to me, I'll NEVER shoot you in the back, I'll make sure you are facing me when I pull the trigger! Seriously guys don't judge anyone unless you know all the facts and don't ever believe everything you hear in the press.
  24. Gives a whole new meaning to the term "snap shot"! Sure glad it all ended well!
  25. It was nice seeing you again yesterday Shawn, too bad you had to leave so early but if it makes you feel any better, I fished until about 6:30 and the fishing didn't improve much. Too many boats running through I think. take care, glad to see you posting again. Cliff
