  1. Now those are the kinds of jestures that get you invited back and form life long bonds. Good for you in understanding his concerns and respecting them, looks like you'll have a place to fish for a long time!
  2. I am very sorry to hear that! My guy probably won't be with us much longer, he is starting to show his age and it is progressing quite quickly. He is almost 14 now so it is too be expected but boy it is going to be hard on us.
  3. So did I, trained my dog there on many occasions did his NAVHDA and CKC trials there, left a lot of live birds behind LOL. I have a GSP, what do you have?
  4. A friend just sent this to me, thought I should share it. Crown lLand Pattent Grant John F, can you comment on this?
  5. I just got back from visiting with the gang, Roy didn't sleep at all last night, he was still mumbling this morning about some angel sat on his knee yesterday, I thought he was just being Roy but now that I see the picture I think I understand! I won't say anything about the rest of the pictures or things I hear have been going on like the "dances" that were performed last night, my lips are sealed! All I can say is it was wonderful meeting so many old friends, some I had never seen before but sure hope to see again soon! The welcome hugs from Moe (if I had known what was waiting for me I'd have been there last night); my shower buddy Barb, boy do we make heads turn and so they should ( boy I'm glad I'm bigger than John!) And Joey, on the darkest day and the coldest night, that smile of yours and a hug..... well, lets just say it makes an old man think of years gone by! Anyway, it was a long drive for a very short visit but worth every minute of it! Joe, thank you for the hat, Art, thank you for breakfast! And to everyone else, thank you for the warm welcome, I'll be looking forward to the pictures and the pike reports! Next year, I'm going to plan my holidays to include the G2G.
  6. Really looking forward to finally seeing you guys, Joe, I'll put you in charge of the pickled leeks, that way you can snag a few to take home to your wife. Wish I had more of them but I only have the one jar left so that will have to do!
  7. Bet you didn't realize you had just joined the commedy website did you? All this time you thought you were registering for a fishing form Welcome to the Ontario Fun Network!
  8. Anything you boys from the Southern contingent need from up our way that you might not have time to pick up? Let me know and I'll deliver it Saturday morning. (already got those puff balls packed Joe). Hey, any of you guys ever tried pickled leeks?
  9. Not wanting to rain on your parade but wasn't WallMart selling them for about $90.00? Mind you I don't think that included the conversion kit and there would be taxes.
  10. Man, those are three words you don't want to hear when you are making Love!
  11. Well Shane If I knew what I was doing wrong I'd stop doing it! The one thing I can guarantee you is that it isn't for lack of trying! And yes, I will figure it out at some point!
  12. Well, you all know what my record is like this year and I have been trying all the places, and things that others tell me they catching their limits with. I have had many tails torn off the pink jig with the white grub and plenty of hits but my record is unblemished again so far this weekend. Actually that is not quite true, I did catch one this morning, right after that I caught a perch that was bigger than the walleye and the perch was no jumbo LOL. I just got back in from trying a bottom bouncer with a worm harness, caught a lot of small perch and a couple of good size sunfish and the small walleye. Then switched to the pink Jig with white grub for about an hour, nothing but perch hits. Then tried casting a bucktail for an hour, weed edges and heavy weeds, no takers. Water still isn't that warm, 67-70°, there is a nice little chop on the lake thismorning and cloud cover, should be ideal conditions. On a bright note, I sure am learning how to use my new HDS5. It has taken a bit of gettiing use to (might help if I read the book). Oh well better a bad day fishing than any day working!
  13. What a fantastic report, you couldn't get better fishing partners but bruses???? How did you explain those to Dave?
  14. Well Peter forgive me if I missed it but I couldn't find any introduction from you or anything to tell me what you like to fish for or anything else about you. A bit of background might help get you a few more replies. Having some things in common with a person you are going to spend a day with on the water can make a big difference in how a day goes!
  15. Well, I did get out last night, fished from about 7 until about 9:30, tried both bucktails and pink jig/white grub. No hits on the bucktails but I have been using 3/8 oz, perhaps I need to drop down in weight a bit, guess I'll have to stop in and see Gerry later today. I did get quite a few hits on the grub, 3 solid hits two of which actually bit the grub right off just short of the hook so that is encouraging and a lot of what I think might have been perch or rock bass hits, tap tap tap but no hook set. Might have to come down a little in hook size too. Most of the action seemed to be in about 10-12 FOW just off the edges of the weeds, boy are the weeds ever getting thick out there now. Anyway it was a beautiful evening out on the water.
  16. Excellent information, gives one a lot to think about and proves that little details do make a big difference! Thanks for the lesson!
  17. Smart beautiful and a hard worker! She will do well in life!
  18. Oh Lord what have I done? LOL
  19. If he wears that pink tutu you'll be laughing so hard you wouldn't be able to hit him if he was sitting on the barrel of the gun LOL.
  20. Saddly work is getting in the way and Sue and I can't make it for the weekend. I am going to drive up on the Friday right after I get off work, spend the night at my daughters Friday night, be at the camp bright and early Saturday morning but I'll have to leave early Saturday afternoon.
  21. I was wondering how that worked out for you? Did you get the starter fixed? I got thinking after you left that we should have pulled it apart, it might have only needed a new set of brushes. Also, was I right about the output from the charging coil? A schematic would have sure simplified things. Lastly, where I told you to put that grommet. If you are having trouble finding one to fit, just take a piece of fuel line, cut it lengthways down one side and that will do the trick. Let me know if you need some, I'll bring it up to Lakair and drop it off when I make my quick appearance on the Saturday.
  22. Glad to see you on here and posting Princess, just a couple of quick points: Don't ever let mom sell my fishing stuff for what I TOLD her I paid for it. Don't ever tell her about the "sacraficing a virgin" post (or there will be a big sale on all of my stuff) You have just joined one of the finest, most generous groups of people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing! I know you will fit right in here.
  23. There is always room for one more, welcome to the board!
  24. I really like dealing there, the owner is a very quiet guy, never pushy, but the more I get to know him, the more I like him. I find his prices for most things to be quite good, I got a really nice ultralite outfit in there a couple of weeks ago for $35.00 and he has a very good selection of baits and tackle. I buy my worms from him now, $12.00/100. Sure beats paying $2.50 a dozen. Besides that, I'd rather support the little guy.
  25. When I bought my boat last year I did a lot of shoping, I mean a lot! I ended up with a really good deal,(saved me almost 20% over the best deal I could find on the same package anywhere else) super service! Delivered to my door! Talk to these guys, ask for John, tell him Cliff from Lindsay sent you. I have refered others to them as well and so far they have taken really good care of anyone I have sent.Keswick Marine And do make sure that whatever you get is outfitted with the max rated horse power for that package!
