  1. i thank these brave souls for testing the safety of our ice with their expensive trucks, yous are true heros! thanks you!
  2. i have had one for about 2 years, they are a great little knife but i dont like it much. the end of the handle rubs on the table to much when skinning fish but other then that a good knife, just personal peference
  3. nice choice, honda makes a good quality bike
  4. ya definitely x-raps for sure. ive been using the storm thundersticks in the madflash series for pike. they are only $3.99 at bass pro so not as big of a deal loosing them in them casting in around heavy cover, they have better hooks quality hooks and can hold up to more abuse then an the xrap. dont get me wrong i love xraps, i have about 80 of them and are amazing for bass, walleye, and of course pike.
  5. buddy was talking crappy tire rods which are under $100 and everyone is suggesting $200+ rods hahaha niccceee
  6. so how much do you want to spend?? whats your price range?
  7. glynnie, i have a few different ones with zero results, i find they are to small and light to cast it out more then 10feet!
  8. solopaddler-i'm to the point on things and very forward. im sure others were thinking the exact same thing "idiot" just didnt want to say it. i'm sorry if i didnt "butter up" my post, that doesn't make me immature and you continuing on this and flaming me is immature. I've been on here long enough to notice that if someone thinks a little different then they get singled out and thats just wrong. just because solopaddler or drifter can manage in the bush for long periods of time doesnt mean the next guy is capable of doing it. People need to know their limits, it says he tried to do this around xmas time and basically failed, theres your sign. I think people need to lighten up a bit and just go have some fun once in a while. on a bit of a side note, why do yous prefer to go alone? i personally enjoy company of others and i always have multiple people wanting to go with this immature child.
  9. my setup works all year and i leave my williams baitless and just let the spoon do the work.
  10. bahaha bahaha! i cant even touch this, this is just going to go nowhere good fast!
  11. ya i maybe an idiot and do dumb things but common sense kicks in every once in a while and you dont want to be playing with mother nature like this guy did. you wouldnt catch me out there alone but you may catch me doing something dumb with some buddies
  12. ya try worms in 4-10feet of water near bottom (1 foot) or right on bottom. get a nice shiny #30 silver williams wabler jig it 4-5ft below the ice with light quick little jigs and just keep it moving, its all in the wrist. dace also work decent as well if you want to set a still line.
  13. i feel he should have not gone alone, thats the first thing on the check list before going into the wilderness, always have a buddy!! i never go fishing, hunting, sledding, etc alone. its just the smart thing to do. something simple as a wrong step and you have a broken ankle and your done for even for someone that has taken many trips like survivorman. there was a little to much monkey see monkey do here, should have known better. survivorman shows you what to do if you get put in that situation and to not purposely put yourself into that situation.
  14. i agree!! grind the glue off or just rip the sucker down, i know i wouldnt not be playing with trying to take the PL off with a scraper or sand paper or whatever.
  15. im sorry but this guy is an idiot!! zero common sense!! if he had any he'd know better! i feel sorry for the family seesh
  16. i second the walmart batteries!! crappy tire ones are crap, mine didnt even last a season. but the cheapo charger from crappy is good
  17. yup same here. i enjoyed reading them and i think i actually did post on your last one. i dont see why ppl dont keep more bass to eat they are quite tasty
  18. ya still a few weeks off here but by the winter we've been having it'll come early this year. and i wonder if its going to throw things off this year. there isnt gonna be much for flooding due to low snow conditions and the rivers wont be has high. if this weather keeps up the way it is then it'll be a really dry year with fire bans and what not. probably lots of weed growth in shallower lakes. i wonder how fishing will be never seen a year like this one.
  19. what a thrill fighting a fish with a little tiny rod and the added difficulty of getting him up through the hole. and your limited to where you can go. your basically stuck at one spot on the lake and cant troll or work areas for fish and also the added difficulty lures, theres a limited amount of lures for ice fishing compared to soft water fishing.
  20. if its legal in your area then i dont see a problem. if you catch and release only then just follow good releasing practices like normal keep laying into the pigs!
  21. i really like these videos you have there tj. i just bought a new waterproof camera and dying to try it out. on this one lake i fish theres a sweet bay almost like a whole other lake and its loaded with pike. its amazing to watch 2-3 pike coming after your lure at once even double hooking the odd time. this summer i'm definitely taking some videos! ohh and keep them coming if you got them!!
  22. that is a very nice speckie you have on your wall!! a true trophy. havent given them an honest go
