  1. I think the team format works best for OFC and the spirit of this site. Teamwork reflects community effort and spirit.
  2. My son had no problem buying his new 1 year license at Fishing World just before Christmas. I think the problem lies with "newfie speed and sport".
  3. I'm in as well. I'll be a cap again.
  4. It is a difficult thing which we all must face in the course of our lives. You have my sincerest condolences
  5. Over the years, Christmas has always included periods of depression from mourning lost loved ones in our family. My wife's parents both died around Christmas. It has taken us a long time to adjust. I've learnt many years back that the greatest and most precious gifts are the love shared by our families.
  6. 3 days of feasting, feeling like a lead zeppelin

  7. Hyyvaa Joulua to you and yours as well. May the good Lord keep you all near, dear, and well over the Christmas season.
  8. Extra thick with a good dash of nutmeg. Of course there is the love affair with traditional nordic brandies like Peder Heering, Lapponia, and the odd splash of Aqvavit
  9. It depends on the type of stenosis. I suffer from a congenital scoliosis of the spinal cord. Surgeries are the only reason I can still walk and have an active life. Albeit with some difficulty, as the damage to the nerves is beyond repair. The best thing about the surgeries is that they removed the pain. Sadly the surgery is no cure for the damage done. It merely delays or stops further damage to the spinal cord. I hope the surgery helps.
  10. I like a lot of the traditional music of Christmas, but... muppets
  11. Large raptors will commonly attack much larger meals like young sheep, goats, large dogs, etc.. The small child was just easy prey. It may sound horrible, but nature does what it will.
  12. Sadly. it happens all the time. I've known numerous incidents where dogs have been poisoned with antifreeze or warfin. I've even found the baited meat and dishes of antifreeze left out in the park. Enforcement came up empty handed.
  13. It better be, or it's coal for the lot of you
  14. As a matter of fact, many folks do.
  15. THere are 5 courses of action, and all need some degree of implementation. The MNR simply chose the option with the least financial and political cost to the government.

    BRUTAL

In Canada a drivers license is a privilege that is granted, under Canadian law, as long as certain requirements are met. Driving is not a "right". However, regardless of the gun rights argument, rights must be balanced with responsibilities. As fewer people exercise their responsibilities, the more frequent this cycle of violence will become.
  17. The boy don't know how to smile, cept when he's in his cups
  18. Finally got out for a few hours with the son. Not a lot of perch, but some good size.
  19. My favourite has always been a traditional Scandinavian sloyd knife. Blade should be short, thick, through tang, RC 60 or better. Have had 2 for over 20 years and put through every type of abuse including can opener.

    BRUTAL

Try as we might, there is no explaining, no making sense, of the evil in this world. For all of how "civilized" mankind has come, that darkness is never far away.
  21. Fitting music for those poor children.
  22. All sorts of conversion kits for hand drill to lathe. One example. http://littlemachineshop.com/products/product_focus.php?Focus=Tooling+Packages
  23. For those who know little of the program, anglers are asked to keep track of their angling successes and failures along the 12 Mile and Welland R. Watersheds. The data collected is then used to help monitor the health of those fisheries. A quick wrap up of the diary program. At the end of the diary season diaries are submitted and prizes are given out. The random draw winner, for a $100 CT gift card, was Harvey Beard of Welland. Most creative diary, for a $50 CT gift card, was Martin Kerr of Hamilton. Most diary entries, for a $50 CT card, was Bruce Downs of Grimsby. At the end of November an number of repeat participants in the diary program were also invited to a volunteer appreciation night to receive a small gift for their participation
  24. Best thing to do is take the lead and put it out for discussion. Don't need to be admin to organize a GTG.
