  1. In the other thread somebody did some math and it's going to cost over a billion. I know you have had a bit of a tough go up there John. It pisses me off spending that kind of money when there's people that are having a tough time right here, at home in Canada. Plus there's the chance for some radical nutbars to come here and pull another Bataclan.
  2. I don't know how much you weigh Simon, but I wouldn't pound through the bumps too hard. I've seen a few broken skid frames that had to be welded on Bravos.
  3. If that's the case, another reason to avoid Mercs. Who really knows what's coming out of the pump.
  4. I'm gonna bail out on this. I honestly hope you guys are right and I'm paranoid. If there's 1 radical that gets fast tracked in to Canada, then this whole thing was a shameful debacle.
  5. No way 5 inches maybe
  6. Yeah, I'm a little NIMBY. I don't know where you guys are. The GTA and Hamilton are going to see a lot of the influx. I don't think Rainy River will be a priority for ISIS to set up sleeper cells.
  7. Yes, maybe a little premature to bring this up. We'll see tomorrow. I do think we could be leaving due diligence behind though, processing the status of 900 refugees per day. I'm just using info from the media because I'm not there and that's all I've got.
  8. From the video, it looks and sounds like it's running perfect. It's a shame they don't make them anymore.
  9. They are not just giving preference, it will be exclusively women and children and families.. This is a new development and shows they are worried about the wrong people getting in to Canada. I'm worried too, to be honest. I chopped up one of your posts again. So we agree there are potential dangers. We agree the cost will be in the billions of dollars. I still say "why?". We are possibly putting Canadians in danger and spending huge dollars on this when we have people that need help right here?
  10. I heard Canada will now only take in Syrian refugees who are women, children or families. not single men. Sounds like somebody is getting a little nervous about their promise.
  11. This sounds super interesting- 2. There will be a mechanical design portion to the company. The design side will be a contract / consulting service tailored to people who have an idea for an outdoors product, but don't know how to design / prototype it. I have all the contacts and skill sets to build pretty much any prototype you can imagine. I have access to several rapid prototyping machines and local machine shops capable of some pretty amazing things. I wouldn't be surprised if a few people from OFC contact you about this. Anyways, best of luck, nothing ventured, nothing gained.
  12. I would have bought/ borrowed or stole another battery and salvaged what was left of the day. This picture sort of looks like a CO that would slap you in the head if you forgot your licence. Is Lew wearing shorts? Good luck at LSC, post a report if you can.
  13. It never ceases to amaze me that there's so much expertise here on OFC. Very cool, congrats!
  14. who cares?
  15. I would guess it's better, I see Mike's fish pics. Not doubting that. None of us are on the same page here. I can't speak for Wayne, but there's something special about G Bay and the French and it can cough up giants. Just the exposed Canadian shield in the background in that picture gets my heart going. This probably makes no sense to you guys.
  16. Dude, read the original post and look at the picture, not a lot of wind or boat traffic out there.
  17. That's probably why you can't relate. I could do 150 hours and be on the edge of my seat the whole time.
  18. Well, if you turn the desert into glass, you wipe out everybody?
  19. How bad is your suit Mike? Mine is 20 plus years old and the knees and seat are really worn, I think past the point of being helped by a product like that. I'm interested to hear how you make out.
  20. What truck, Dakota or Ram 1500? That's almost 29 mpg. Come on Bri, you reset it and coasted down a hill. My wife's Fiesta averages 33.
  21. I think saying they pay a "hefty sum" is misleading. Paying their own transportation costs is common sense IMO, whoever pays it, family, friends, themselves. Also, I think I remember hearing an airline (AC ?) will cover that, self advertising for the airline. The link you posted, I'm pretty sure most of that is going to go out the window in a situation like this. I want to help people but we have lots of people who need help in our community/ country too.
  22. I chopped up your post I admit. I'm more asking questions than arguing. These displaced people, with only the shirts on their backs are going to pay a hefty sum? Justin said 25 000 between now and January 1st. I don't doubt you know a couple of solid Syrian families here, but an influx of that magnitude in a month and a half, there's no way there is going to be proper background checks. I'm all for immigration but not with the compromise of our safety.
  23. Unless you can see the plumbing, there could be a low spot. Easy and cheap, I'd still pour in some antifreeze.
  24. By running it, the fogging you did a couple weeks ago is now useless. edit- like Wayne and Mike I don't fog my 4 stroke either, always premium (no ethanol) gas, last tank with Stabil I don't fog 2 strokes either, premium gas, Stabil, and a cap full of oil down the spark plug hole and pull it over a few times.
  25. The flagship Toys r Us store is cool.
