/\ /\ /\ you guys wouldn't know well written literature if it fell on your head ?

yes, I've been to the Gouin. The biggest concern is all the flooded timber and crap and how to fish it. There's probably 10 billion jigs broken off per acre.

He heard voices in the forest, he heard voices in his head. Magnetized, he couldn't help himself, he followed what he heard and went deep into the forest. He found a small shrine. He didn't feel well. He had the urge to urinate, but couldn't, his penis had turned to stone. He wanted to free himself from the demons but couldn't, his knife had turned to stone. He needed to call for help, but couldn't, his phone had turned to stone. He couldn't find his way home for his eyes had turned to stone. He dead

The Magic Lure, anyone recognize this spoon?
chris.brock replied to chris.brock's topic in General Discussion
Leuenbergers, but yeah Doug, awesome country up there. I am thinking the new and old lure were stamped from the same mold or die so the old one would suffice. Anyone know how I could get a reproduction made? I have no clue about metal working. -

Unless Chuck changes his mind, he said he's giving it to me (he doesn't realize or recognize the power of the magic lure, lol). We're both fishing Ogoki Lake next week and it's going straight on my rod, 1st thing. As far as a supplier, I have a retired, beat up magic lure I'm going to try and counterfeit and reproduce over the winter. -

We aren't disclosing that information yet until we see if they have or can get anymore, lol, it was a small tackle shop. -
There still is a place on Crooked Lake. South Lake is a pretty busy lake, lots of cottages and trailers. Bass for sure. There's walleye too- the story I heard is a couple guys transplanted walleye in there from another lake and they took pretty good.

Chuck scores one! -
A co-worker of mine was a smoke jumper when he was younger. Aside from the danger factor, pretty much the whole summer is gone, it's spent working, long shifts, away from home. In a busy summer, the money he earned was less than I expected too. He said his last summer, he was sitting in a bog, getting destroyed by mosquitoes, soaked in sweat waiting for a helicopter for hours, and he just said "to hell with this crap"
-
Epic trip Chris! Where's next summer's destination?

Ken O'Brian caught the 65 pounder, Moon River area, in the fall, allegedly 8 or 10 lbs test line and a small Rapala. Ang Viola's fish doesn't seem to be thrashing, he just bear hugs it for no reason in the video.
-
Yeah, he's likely got a box full of those jackets at home, lol. I'm talking about proper fish handling techniques, especially since that is a highly esteemed, big specimen of a muskie.
-
yeah, what's with Ang bear hugging the thing with all the slime ending up on his jacket???

It was ok, but not great. I went 3 or 4 times. If the drive distance is about the same for you, I'd be looking NW of Thunder Bay instead of Chapleau.
-
I think the fishing in the Sioux Lookout area would be far better than the Chapleau stuff. I have fished Happy Day a few times.

yep, Walsten has a decent reputation up there, Harper not so much

When my wife was considering a new Jetta I calculated it would take 12 years of fuel savings to recoup the initial extra cost for the diesel option. Fuel, initial cost, resale, reliabilty/ repairs, etc. It's a pretty complicated equation. I think FCA is generally crap and I drive one too. Also, those on board mileage computers might be telling you what you want to hear. It's better to do your own calculations. The hot summer weather = better mileage too.

I use a pretty long flouro leader. Ice fishing, Lake Trout for sure seem to shy away from my offering if I've tied direct.

A few odds makers (Bodog, Oddsshark and more) now have the Leafs as the favorite to win the cup next season, lol.

We're getting off topic with GT Boutique etc, but my wife and I recently wandered into Jackson's Square in the Hammer, that was my first experience with Hart Stores, I didn't have a lot of time, but it was pretty cool, Huk fishing shirts for $10 etc. I've got a lot of different kinds, but my favorite summer time, slip on shoes, no socks, are Sanuks. They're good for nothing, get sweaty and stinky but I love the things.

That's a valid statement. I still think he gave a bull crap excuse. From my driving experience, it's a pretty small window, with the right conditions, in the morning and evening when the sun is blinding. And when the sun is blinding, you can't see anything. So if he was flying along blinded by the sun, he's a careless idiot.

I have a buddy who had a stick go through his Krocs and into his foot. He was off work for 3 weeks. I've had a pair of Krocs for 10 years and I don't wear them much, they stay at the cottage.

There's an uphill stretch of the 401 heading west near Kelso that if the sun is setting on a clear day, traffic pretty much comes to a stop because it's hard to see. That's what drivers have to do if they can't see. I saw the interview of a parent who was following the bus at the time of the crash and he said the sun wasn't a factor. He was actually there and not some meteorologist surmising stuff in front of a camera.

I don't normally ask for camping spots... But.....

The French River. Closer and better than the Marten River IMO. -
screw the letter of intent, $75 to file your personal claim (no lawyer) and they will collapse, why give most of your money to a lawyer? Your talking about settling too. They're snakes, scammers. You don't have to settle, you should be totally refunded plus expenses. I've used small claims 3 times, no lawyers for me, won every time because I was scammed and the judge could see that. When they would lie in court and I would get angry the judge recognized who was telling the truth.
