I think the RCMP took their time so emotions and the lynch mob would calm down. My whole issue with this was Canada seems to have become overly politically correct, too racially sensitive and over accommodating. $1k bail? Hopefully they took his passport and he has a gps tracker ankle bracelet thing.

In warm, shallow water with lots of weeds, on a sunny day, photosynthesis can really pump up the dissolved oxygen to way over saturation. I remember sampling as a student, DO saturation was around 8 mg/l and we were measuring 14 in the hot, shallow water.

why pay a lawyer? do it yourself A lot of people assume that once they have won a claim they automatically get they money. Nope. The laws suck. I won a claim against the Terrace Ford in Burlington snakes. I had to show up in the showroom a few times, it's not until I made a mild disturbance in front of other customers that they finally handed over the cheque. It was some hassle and stress but I think it's better than paying paper pushing, money grabbing lawyers.

no, but from the captain's graph it looks like only the top 5' are soup warm all fish, not just bass, are cold blooded I don't know why, but early/ mid July is just a tough bite around this latitude

I was off the grid all last week but, yep, I didn't think Tavares had the balls to make the move. Big contract = big expectations, October is gonna be pretty exciting

I think JT will resign with the Isles and this is all just a bunch hype for nothing, just like Stamkos possibly moving a couple years ago.

I think from the smirk on Dubas' face he orchestrated this. Seems like upper management is trusting him to make decisions. We'll see if Dubas can find some diamonds in the rough in the later rounds.

I find Bettman sickening. There's no need for him to be involved in this.

How about this, if you don't like Canada we probably don't like you either and don't want you up here. Loose lips sink ships, I've seen it happen plenty of times.

Grass seed and re-seeding/ patching lawns question, nf
chris.brock replied to chris.brock's topic in General Discussion
Too late, lol. I think I could have left it on for another couple days. I did see lots of grass poking through. The good thing is the coverage is good and uniform, not many sparse areas. I have seed and dirt leftover from the spring so I'm just playing around, trying to refine my techniques. I will over seed in the fall too Bill when it looks like we are going to have a stretch of rainy weather. -

Even this late in the season, the burlap gave me the best results I have ever had. The interesting thing was it was a cheaper brand of seed under burlap that did great, Scotts waterguard under burlap was still sparse. -

Nice Ricky! It sounds like you had a good trip! bugs almost no existent eh, I would have guessed the skeeters would have been atrocious. Did you make it down to the SW corner past the Cam Lk portage? -
That's some serious, big spring pikes! It sounds like you've got a good fishing partner there too. You guys tenting or in a cabin?

In the finals OV kinda riled up Fluery in the pregame warm ups. Here's what would happen if guys screwed around in the pre game in the old NHL.- funny side note, Chris Nilan jumps on the ice quick and then thinks he'd better tie up his skates, classic. I love the new NHL but I miss the old NHL too.

Thank you, very generous OI. I'm in Oakville but I visit in laws in Waterford. We'll have to figure out the logistics. I redid at little section of my side yard. I have 4 plots, 2 different types of seeds, with burlap and without. Initial observations (lol)- I can see why it's best not to seed in summer, the strong sun can dry out the burlap pretty quickly. I'm guessing the burlap still retains more moisture in the soil because the soil isn't in direct sunlight. -
It's the Leaf's farm team in the American Hockey League. It was nice to see some blue and white hoist a cup and it's a positive sign for the big club.

I picked up some burlap today. I'm going to run a little experiment in an inconspicuous spot in the backyard, lol. -

It really is a stupid, keeping up with the Joneses thing. By the end of June I typically say f it, but come next May I'll be at it again, lol. -

A neighbor has an astro turf front lawn. No weeds and no lawn mower required. It looks ok from a distance, up close it looks silly. -
Grass seed and re-seeding/ patching lawns question, nf
chris.brock replied to chris.brock's topic in General Discussion
The last few springs I pick up a yard of triple mix and work on the lawns. This year I started in early May and I am on my 3rd round of patching the patches, lol. I have tried mixing the seed and soil in a bucket. I haven't tried the burlap trick or the bentgrass/ fescue. I was guessing the depth the seeds are below the surface is critical but you guys are saying an inch of soil on top. -
Does anybody have any tips or insight? If not, I'm done with seed and it will be sod from here on. I've tried them all, CIL, Scotts etc. Tried different techniques with watering and top soil. Some germinate and some grass does grow but it's patchy and crappy looking. How do the guys that sell sod grow that thick, shag carpet like stuff? better chemicals that I can buy? I throw in a fish pic from last weekend for some fishing content, lol.

Why are they ranking the Leafs so high? better odds for the Leafs than the Caps or Preds, that doesn't make sense. If I was betting on a long shot it would be the Isles, if they could find a goalie they might be a different team next season.

Sounds like you know your 2 strokes Art. What's your opinion on the 100:1 oil versus a good quality oil (Amsoil synthetic for eg) at the manufacturers recommended ratio?

He did have a solid post season and put up great numbers. I'm not an OV fan though and I was hoping he would fail again. He crossed the red line in the pregame warm up and tapped Fleury's pads, not cool, typical OV sideshow stuff, deserving of a beating that doesn't happen anymore in the new NHL. BRING ON OCTOBER HOCKEY BABY! GO LEAFS!
