Video - Big Whitetail Buck Trashes Downed Tree (Ottawa)
Rattletrap2 replied to JustinHoffman's topic in General Discussion
Justin, That is very cool and even though I see lots of deer around our place, I've never witnessed anything like that. He certainly knew you were around and was being cautious....just a little preoccupied I guess. Thanks for sharing that!- 18 replies

Terrible News Brian. I've never had the pleasure of meeting your Brother Rob, but my heartfelt condolences go out to your family and his.

Really? Is this a fact? I was kinda thinking that back in the summer! The first that crossed my mind was "do these folks know something I don't"? lol Seems like companies such as Winchester, Federal, and the like would know there business and not run short....unless circumstances caught them off guard. It seemed odd that even CTC was still experiencing shortages at the end of October though. Weird! If this is really the case, then why the shortage of .22 caliber? Can't possibly imagine anyone trying to hold down the fort with a 22! lol

I know this is a predominantly fishing site, but I also know a lot of you folks are hunters or shooters as well. When I was in Michigan this past August, I noticed all of the retailers from your Walmarts and such to the biggies like Cabela's were experiencing drastic shortages of ammunition on their shelves. They all had signs posted explaining that some ammunition was in short supply and that limits were being imposed on these items. I never had a chance to inquire with them about this and have since noticed similar signs here at home. This seems to affect all brands. Anyone know the reason for this? Thanks

Does not surprise me one bit! I only shared a couple of PM's with Ron a while back and he showed me some of his beautiful truck restorations. A talented man indeed!

Mr. B, I think these interweb gods are trying to give you a hint! lol Actually no idea what is happening to you. -
I stored mine outside for many years without any issues. I did keep those little tinfoil trays with moth balls all over and in all the compartments and such. Beside your house, it is less likely to attract a family of coons moving in. keep an eye on it over the winter and it will be fine. Make sure you build a good cover out of wood and tarps or get it shrink wrapped as suggested. I brought all my gear, tackle, and electronics indoors as well. Good luck and enjoy the new boat!

Yeah, This has to be one of the best shots I have seen. Way to go guys! -
I always crimped a decent size split shot about 2-3 feet up from the wacky rigged Senko if I wanted to get it down into weed pockets. I would think this would help out in deeper water as well. Don't be afraid to experiment like you did with the finishing nails. There are no rules when it comes to this stuff. Do what works!

Just seeing all this now Bruce. Sorry to hear and wishing you and your Wife all the very best for a speedy recovery.

Tiny white moths that hover over water?
Rattletrap2 replied to Rattletrap2's topic in General Discussion
Thanks Drifter. Is a Caddis Fly the same thing? I found a video of Caddis Flies that looks like it might be similar. -
Anyone know what type of insect I am describing? I see thousands of these tiny white moths flying (hovering) over the surface of our pond. The fish are having a field day jumping for them! I can't seem to identify what these flies are. Eventually they wind up in the water dead and floating on the surface Early evening seems to be their most prolific time.

I certainly did not mean any disrespect to the Bosma family. It is a certain hell that they are going through and my heart goes out to them. I only meant that there is a whole lot more going on here with Dellen Millard and company.

I always bought my sheet gasket material from The Gasketman Inc. in Brampton. Bruce Hope (905) 792-2413 Bruce has pretty much any size and thickness you could want. He will either sell you the material or cut the gaskets for you.

Definitely a whole lot more to this story than meets the eye! Nothing adds up here. Time will tell.

I'm sure this guy didn't need to steal a used pick-up truck. He is heir to the Millard Air business. Gotta be a lot more to this story and I'm sure it will come out shortly.
-
Strange case for sure. I just saw on CTV news that they have found a trailer at Dellen Millards Mothers residence with a pick-up truck inside.
-
They will be frozen now....at least around here!

Dave, I was lazy and had my Mechanic install my Brake Controller and wiring harness. I bought the Brake Controller in the States from Camping World and got a good deal on it. I also bought a converter to be able to switch my 7 pin connector back to 4 pin for the utility trailer. Sorry I can't be any better help to you.

Call Greg at Covers Unlimited in Brampton. He is reasonable and stands behind his work. I don't have hus number handy, but he is on West Drive, just South of Queen.

I wonder how the original "FF" is doing these days? Of course he shed all them pounds the last time we heard from him. PA must be treating him right!
-
Thanks for the heads up Roy. That particular store was hit by a tornado a couple of years back as well. I'll be heading there in August. Probably back up and running long before then. I can't see them staying closed for long.
-
Thanks for the link Wayne. Very useful and your advice appears to be spot on as well. My utility trailer needs some sanding and painting this summer and I will upgrade the running lights as well.

Thanks to the fella at Gagnon's in Oshawa
Rattletrap2 replied to pidge's topic in General Discussion
Great to hear. Gagnon's is a bit too far out of the way for me these days, but I did buy my Minn Kota there a number of years back and I too had great service from the guy that sold it to me!
