  1. As everyone has already said, you made the right decision. I know its hard, but don't beat yourself up with the "should have, "could have" stuff. A few years ago, I remember reading about a guy that went into the Humber River to save his own dog's life. In the end, the dog got out on his own.....and the owner drowned.
  2. Terry, are you telling me there was a break-up in the marriage? I never knew! Did TJ separate from this board?
  3. Weird, my post kept dropping the "N"!
  4. Yes, I thought this board was referred to as O F N C (Don't forget the NET). OFC is this new Ontario Fishing Club thang that they are promoting! My Wife always said "It don't matter where you get your appetite, as long as you eat at home!".....and this right here........is HOME! Now.....she may not have been talking about Fishing, but you get the drift!
  5. Cisco and GBW, I get it. It makes sense in relation to the storage of the boat. I see your point there to possibly store it somewhere en route to the lake of choice. By "Vagabonds", I mean we plan to fish different lakes, not primarily just one. I guess you are right about the Salesman trying to suit the boat to its intended duty. Just seems funny to me that it is the first thing out of their mouths. I will store my own boat at home, just not anywhere close to Newmarket. I did tell him that he is welcome to store it here over the winter months. Thanks for your suggestions!
  6. Sir, I have pretty much made that tour myself! Missed out on Jann's, but added in Northwoods Outfitters! Michigan has some great stores for fishermen!
  7. Sweet Geezus! HB is like a speedbump on the road in front of Lowrance!
  8. Beautiful workmanship Meegs! A true artist!
  9. Steve, I really wish I had your video editing skills! I got a new Go Pro....but have no clue with the software. Nice fish too!
  10. Hmmm.....how to clean a mess of Crappie? I only wish i had that problem right about now! lol Great Video Simon! Thanks
  11. Cliff, unfortunately this happens all too much in my opinion. I think it is a game the stores play. Most people don't pay attention to iwhat the cashier rings in. TSC stores do this on a regular basis. I always catch them charging more than what the price on the shelf says! When Zellers was still around, I found the opposite. The price they would ring in at the cash was often LESS than the price on the item or shelf! Dumb though, because I often left stuff on the shelf when I thought I could get it cheaper elsewhere.
  12. As far as where he fishes most........we get asked that question all the time! lol The boat dealers at the shows all asked me that too! Seems like a strange question to ask for some reason to me. I/We plan to travel around and try a lot of different lakes. When I was at the trailer park or if someone had a cottage on a particular lake, it would seem like a logical answer. Other than that, we are vagabonds! I dunno, just seems like an odd question to me!
  13. He did find storage about 15 minutes from his house in Newmarket with 24/7 access. It is about $120 per month all in. Pricey, but I guess it works. The farmer with land seems to be a good option as well. I guess the only thing missing there is any type of security unless the farmer has a dog and a gun! lol Naw MisterG, it isn't like that at all! We just never thought it would be that hard to find or that expensive. Around my place, all I see is storage places.
  14. Thanks guys! As I did say, he lives in Newmarket / Aurora area. He found one that was $154.00 per month. I think that is a little steep! We were thinking more in the $70 to $75 range. That's why I was curious as to what you folks were doing. Most of the storage places are full, or well over $100 per month. The one that was a little cheaper in Queensville is not so convenient to get in and out, and he had no space left. Card access is way preferred. I honestly thought it would be a lot easier and cheaper to find something.....maybe I was out to lunch! I've never been in this position myself. I'll look into the Anchor Storage place.
  15. Thanks for the heads up. LED is the only way to go these days. I have their stuff on my utility trailer as well.
  16. We went to the show last Saturday. It definitely is a shadow of what it once was, but a huge improvement over the Spring Show a few weeks earlier. Next year, I will do this one again. We had a good time and spent some money. A Buddy spent lots! lol
  17. I always heard stories about the great Sportsman Show in Cleveland. I never made it, but always wanted to go. I did get to one in Buffalo, NY a long time ago that was excellent!
  18. Hey all, trying to help a Buddy out here. I was with him at the Toronto Sportsman Show and he bought himself a new Princecraft 16' fishing boat. We never thought there would be an issue finding (outdoor) storage during the season, but apparently it is hard to find or very expensive! I can store it for him during the winter, but I'm not convenient to him. He would like 24 hour acces or something close to it so he can pick it up and drop it off after an outing. Anyone have any ideas? Just wondering what others are doing who don't have room in the driveway. Thanks
  19. I have shopped the Gander Mountain in Port Huron, MI quite a few times over the years. It is okay, but nothing special.
  20. Ahh.....the good ol' days! Me too!
  21. X2 I'm with you on this one! We only ever fed our Lab/Sheherd/ Border Collie cross dry dog food and never had a single health issue in almost 14 years. He was the smartest dog I have ever known. Our friends have always fed all there dogs human food and have a ton of health issues to go along with it.
  22. The old Mississauga Le Baron location will soon be a Marine Mart store (also from Québec). I will check it out when they open at the end of March. With West Marine gone, there are not that many places for boating accessories. I heard West Marine was expensive here. I had only been in a few US stores.
  23. I went on Sunday. I guess my memories of how big and good this show once was spoiled it for me. One tiny building! I could not believe how many vendors were not there. MNR did not even make an appearance. A lot of manufactures did not have booths either. However, I did manage to spend a ton of money! I got a new Motorguide Xi5 with pinpoint GPS and Lowrance Hook 7 graph. I just had a look at the Sportsman show coming in March to the International Center. They look to have a lot more booths. This is the one to go to in my opinion, but any day looking at fishing tackle is better than a day at home this time of year!
  24. Sorry to hear. I know all to well how hard it is to put them down. Never had to do it due to an accident, but whatever the reason is, it is not something I would want to go through again any time soon.
  25. Wormdunker, We have never met, but this news sickens me! It seems like it is all i hear these days. So many people are being stricken with this disease. I am with you on this fight and wish you all the best. I look forward to you beating this thing in the very near future! Regards, another "Brian"
