  1. Not a fan of that idea.
  2. Yeah, I try to get it in but when you got a 50" musky, pike or huge salmon, carp etc. it's tough to get it all in with the fish flopping around and the OFC logo in one hand, I think that's part of the reason it's not mandatory for the tape because we want the fish to swim again as quick as possible.
  3. Very nice. Yeah that 34" looks like she just ate a duck, lol.
  4. Sweet ride.
  5. Yes, I'm no liar either but went through something similar as well. To make a long story short my situation has been dragged by lawyers and family for over 5 years now in the court system and in the end the lawyers get everything and the family is torn apart much more then if we didn't get lawyers involved. Keep the lawyers out of it period, they just do their job, witch isn't to help people struggling and in need of help, it's to profit as much as possible for as long as possible. Sorry for the negativity, but honestly, the best thing to do is to sit down with your family and talk it out no matter how stubborn everyone is on each side and meet in the middle somewhere. Sometimes that's impossible too but trust me lawyers just make things worse. They are the Lampray eel of life, sucking on anything available.
  6. Nice stuff, looking forward to those pics.
  7. No problems here.
  8. Yeah, I would never use it personally but it could be good for taking friends or kids out fishing that don't have much experiance, it's definitely better than having no action and could be a good learning tool.
  9. You'll be just fine and then some. Just rub your leader after a fish and every once in a while to check for big nicks in the line.
  10. Have fun guys, nail some of those fat lakers.
  11. Ha, even his own kid makes fun of him for the shore lunch by mocking him, lol. It's not that everyone doesn't enjoy a shore lunch, it's the fact that he is obsessed with talking about it and mentions it a 100 times a show and takes up half the show talking about it. I like Cronz and the show, but man he needs to cut back on the shore lunch talk, lol.
  12. " Tiffany is a newly single mother of three kids, ages 2, 6, and 9, and worked for the St. Lucie County School District for four years. After a divorce earlier this year put a strain on her finances, she had to find a second job. She began working as a bikini mate for Smokin’ Em Charters. It was a new business venture that her boss, Gil Coombes and his wife, Kat, had started, which combines fishing and a bevy of bikini clad beauties. The job requirement for a Bikini Mate was posted on the Smokin’ Em Charters website - “look hot in a bikini”. There are some bikini mates who are semi-nude on the website, but Tiffany did not go topless while on the boat. She said, “I can make $600 in two days’ fishing. That’s a week’s pay for me.” School officials claim that Tiffany’s Bikini Mate job was not the reason she got fired. Evidently she has missed more than 30 days this school year. Hmmmmm. " Sign me up for a charter please, this captain knows how to get the job done.
  13. Have a good one.
  14. Congrats. Those pants would make a nice hard bait design.
  15. LOL, so now where comparing Bob Izumi to Lance Armstrong ? Come on guys it doesn't get any easier on your body than fishing, this is a joke to me (you guys are young, I can understand an old man getting a little sore). The next strenuous activity down from fishing is laying in a hammock all day with a Corona, but let me tell you, that Corona bottle really gets heavy at the end of the day, maybe they should design some ultra light beer bottles too, my wrist is taking a beating.
  16. I can never understand how guys get sore from fishing ? I mean no matter what combo you get it's light either way, where taking maybe a ounce or two total by getting the lightest most expensive gear compared to a nice average set up. I hear it all the time in musky world, which makes a little more sense considering the weight of things is 50x heavier than most fresh water fishing but still it's a walk in the park compared to any other physical activity or a average work day. If it is truly sore just from fishing it will go away after your little wrist muscles catch up to the stress from fishing long periods, just like the first week you put hockey skates on your feet kill but eventually adapt. Not trying to be a ass but honestly it's fishing man, it's the easiest sport (activety) you could possibly do as far as physical/athletic ability. This is why we see 500lbs fishermen drinking beer and eating wings while fishing at the same time. If your sore from fishing I think you should go to the doc, chances are it's not fishing related. Now you can still get a $1000 G-loomis rod, $2000 custom titanium float reel, shorten the rod to lighten the load and get a reel seat that slides so you can balance it wherever you want. In the end you'll have a hole in your pocket, a 3 ounce lighter set-up and the same wrist problem. It will go away naturally if it is from over fishing, don't worry you'll get use to it in no time.
  17. Pam Anderson will be ticked. She's turning into the new face of P3TA all over Larry King and everywhere else, lol, at least we got something to look at now, good thing silicone isn't a animal bi-product. We should add Cormorants the the OFC tournament species list a donate prices to the guy or gal that can bag the most with additional bonus points.
  18. I just watched that show today as well, nice big pike and underwater footage for sure. The banjo was working just fine but I have a feeling anything would have worked in that bay full of huge hungry aggressive pike, I'd take a live sucker/smelt or the big gulp baits any day over a banjo though, but spot fishing like that with fish everywhere in perfect sight makes things a lot easier too, a simple quarter ounce jig and 3" plastic grub probably would have done the same job in that situation, so it made the banjo out to be a super bait but in reality anything would have worked.
  19. Could be anything, what kind of species are in the river ? are there any species spawning now ? could just be bait fish, if you find those bait balls out in your boat in shallow water or on the radar you hit the lottery, I've seen some giant ones and you can guarantee predators will be very close.
  20. I just bring a lantern, the new style ones, its a led light but not bright at all to look directly at and lights the whole boat area, to top it off they don't use batteries you just wind the handle every once in a while. You'll find them at most stores, Canadian tire, walmart, etc.. for cheap and they are perfect for night fishing.
  21. Shallow, try behind McDonald's in town, I use to just use 4 or 5 worms on a large single hook and let it sit on bottom for carp other than that it's a salmon/trout area, go anywhere along the georgian bay shore line near rivers/tribs and cast out a egg sinker as far as you can with a floating roe bag 4-5 inches off bottom and wait.
  22. I love'm all but my favourites are those big surprise fish. The 43" pike in my avatar and caught one the next week a little fatter, both caught walleye fishing with 8lb test and no leader. 10 minutes of non stop action and playing it out so it doesn't snap the line, also caught a couple big muskies on worm harnesses a couple years ago. So those big surprise fish are always fun on light gear and I always remember those the best.
  23. Wayne, I seen a 52-54" floater up here last year around the same time and wondered the same thing ? maybe it is just old age.
  24. I've tried all the "NEW" in fashion techniques over the years and always fall back to the trusty all around jig and minnow or gulp now. It's what I'm good at and always works if fish are swimming. For me it's finding the fish, after that a jig will always work on almost every species. Certain situations call for different techniques but I stay tossing jigs all year and realized after trying everything else over the years, this is usually all I need and trust the most, majority of the time I only take a box of various sized/styled jigs and leave the extra weight at home. Musky or trolling is usually the only time I don't jig and even then it still works sometimes. And the pros always tell you to change it up all day untill you find something that works, but all it is really is the rite time and place, chances are if you didn't switch baits you would have still caught the fish, not always, but a jig will always work if your on top of fish. Anything that's shinny and spins is a close second.
