I've always wanted a clip on or portable type top just to cover a side console area, for fall/rainy/sunny days. I've never seen such a rig that wasn't custom built but I bet it would sell if someone produced a portabe one size fits all sort of thing to cover a side console. Almost like a portable fishing hut that just fits around the console.

Crazy. Looks like the truck has some nice suspension though.

Not sure if this has been posted yet or not but I thought it was interesting. More pics

Hey bud, For musky you'll need a whole new set of equipment, it's not like other fish where you can get away with a bass rod for everything that swims. So if you don't have the equipment for musky yet, make sure your report card is looking good so you can extort your dad for some new gear. If you already have the equipment than get to those weed beds/edges, drop offs, underwater humps, islands, docks, rivers and start casting all day or troll the shore line is a good way to find and learn new spots. Bass to me are the easiest to find because they are everywhere and eat anything, just get your jigs and spinner baits out and some gulp plastic baits or live minnows, leeches and worms and fish basically anything that looks good, docks are always good for bass. If you find any current areas anywhere on the lake, you can be sure that's always a good spot or close by. Good luck, best tip I can give is just fish and have fun as much as you can and eventually you'll only get better. Time on the water is everything.

Don't worry Bitsmith, he'll be fine. Some dogs hate water but if they fall in, you'll be surprised how fast they learn (literally, instantly) Or just get him a doggy life jacket. The problem is he'll never let you go boating alone ever again without a fight.

The problem this year is that the water temps are below normal so fish are running late by a week or two, and in some spots the season opens before the fish will be done spawning this year. I wouldn't give a name of any spots anyway, just in case, because this year you won't have to poach to harm the spawn, guys will be there the first day and the fish won't be done. Just my observation, that they won't be done on schedule this year.

They haven't started up here yet there usually on the way out by next week on Georgian Bay usually a week before opener there already done and moving out of the rivers. Still ice but with the warm week ahead it should be in full force soon. It sort of sucks because season opens May first up here and guys will be right at the mouth or in the rivers slaying them before there done. I like when they have a good chance to spawn and get out of the river before the season starts, same for the pike in the bays. I think I'll give it a week after opener before fishing them this year, start off with some crappie instead.

Chance and Lucy. The old guy Chance is on his last breath but he's been fishing more than most men.

Nice, he looks silky smooth.

WFN is better than most stations but it's getting to the point where TV/Satellite should be free anyway, if you look back over time all that's happened is more commercials and a bigger bill for subscribers. And who actually watches commercials anyway ? I always surf at the first sign of a commercial, but chances are you flip to another channel and it's on a commercial as well.

Damn, hope your ok, only 3 feet to go not much to work with. Get the sand bags out. I don't know if they even work, but they do in the movies. Maybe call the fire station or police and see if they can help some how before it's too late ?

Will the extra snow (high waters) affect fishing?

The walleyes will be late for sure, it's all about water temps like clockwork every year once it hits that magic number, but they have been reported to spawn under the ice if it gets too late, I guess they almost burst so have no choice. The ice melts faster than it comes in though, shouldn't be to far off schedule if it rains like it has been. I'm hoping the waters higher than ever because it was lower than ever in November, I seen rocks out of the water that I didn't even know about. It's going to be a late bite this year but they will bite. As far as high water, nothing changes for catching fish, get your lure in the strike zone like usuall and keep it wet. -
Yes, I agree fully, consumers pay for marketing on everything. I wish everyone would just lower prices instead of giving out so called deals that you really payed for anyway. Bottom line the hats may be good but it's still free advertising in their eyes that's all I was getting at, not picking on you, just tired of the typical corporate America blueprints that Canada and the rest of the world eventually copy and the consumers loose every time.

This is a better deal for them, they should be paying you to slap decals on your boat or car. They're basically just giving out promotional junk with their logos on it not even worth the shipping, good marketing I guess. Take the rebate.

I like the raw stinky skein or eggs my self, you can tie it into bags by just cutting small pieces, mix it with your roe eggs if you want or simply put it on your hook how it is, it falls off but surprisingly stays on for a while and works great. Just keep it in the freezer all the time when not fishing, even when it gets really bad/stinky it still works good. I would say eggs/skein work better fresh with no curing. Don't be afraid to get messy or smelly, that's what fishing all about. Sorry, I can't even remember how to cure because I only did it one time so I could use single eggs directly on the hook. I think I just boiled it in salt water for a couple seconds.

Nice tutorial. -
Ha, classic.

Nice. Put a 70lber thrust on there you'll get it going 10mph.

I had to use the solid mandrel pop rivets last year because I couldn't get at the inside of the boat, you can rent or buy the little tool that pops them in from the outside and caked with the marine caulking before they went in the hole. They worked perfect, no more leaks, it's only been one season on them, only time will tell.

Location is good, but overall I don't care who the host is or who's product there using. I tune in to see big fish, simple as that, the more the actual fish take up the half hour show on the camera the better. Just search this site there was a couple large discussions last week.

HOW TO TREAT A WOMAN: Wine her. Dine her. Call her. Hold her. Surprise her. Compliment her. Smile at her. Listen to her. Laugh with her. Cry with her. Romance her. Encourage her. Believe in her. Pray with her. Pray for her. Cuddle with her. Shop with her. Give her jewelry. Buy her flowers. Hold her hand. Write love letters to her. Go to the ends of the earth and back again for her. --------------------------------------- HOW TO TREAT A MAN: Show up naked. Bring Beer and chicken wings. Don't block the TV.

Get yourself a 40-50 amp in-line circuit breaker with a reset switch on it instead of a fuse it will save you time and hassle, if it blows you just press a little button to reset it. I know motor guide sells them or maybe a marina/boat shop. I can't remember the gage of my cable, but it's super thick much thicker than the red and black on the motor, (thicker the better, think it's 16-20 gauge) get it a Canadian Tire, you just need enough two go from one battery to the other, there already made up in 1,2,3,4 or 6 feet ect with the ends on them in the car section and they might even have the little circuit breakers there too. So get a breaker, put it on the positive (red) cable on your motor, than you'll need a tiny piece from that to the battery or just put the breaker directly on the positive of one battery. So hook a thick cable connecting the two batteries one on the Positive and one on the Negative of the second battery, than put the motor cables on, black/Negative on one battery red/Positive on the other battery. Now there are many different ways if you want to hook on/off switches and on-board battery chargers, but I just go directly and charge my batteries at home. It will mater where your putting the batteries in you boat, if you'll have to extend the cables on the motor or not. Remember you need deep cycle batteries too, don't use you starter battery for the trolling motor.

I use power dvd to watch dvds that you already have at home. As far as downloading movies it takes a long time and there are many sites to do so, I use limewire. You can view them on windows media player or burn it onto a disc. TV/Satellite you can get a DVB card and hook a satellite dish up to your computer but your on your own there. Or Youtube has many interesting videos to watch all the time as well as old shows, movies ect.. better then regular TV anyway. Theres pay sites and free ones, I use the free limewire for most music, movies. But remember the more you download the more problems your computer starts having, and you'll need to scan and clean you computer more often, it can slow things down. I do download lot's though, get yourself a external hard drive and save/download all your media on that instead of your main hard drive.

The ones I make would take a long time, their tanks, lot's of guys make good ones. The only thing that could fail over time is the hair will eventually fade and rip off, the hardware should not fail in my lifetime, other than possibly a broken clevis or bent parts you can just bend back. If you wanted you can double up the split rings, but the big tripples are extremely hard to bend. Most guys don't die their own they buy bulk material already colored but the die will eventualy fade no matter and paint will eventually chip but the fish don't care about that anyway. You could always powder paint them yourself in future years as well as add more hair/material with little effort. Triple split rings, biggest available Biggest/thickest clevis Thickest wire .63 is plenty - .71 is super heavy I think a clothes hanger is .71 and your can find it but I use .63 Magnum blades(thicker than regular blades) Numerous knots tieing small pieces at a time on a metal coil, covered in epoxy Solid metal beads x4 thick Mustad trebles, don't bend = super tanker that should never fail on any musky and last a very long time, you can troll the heavy duty ones better as well. I don't have anymore to sell or plan on making anymore this year, but check out muskyfirst.com and go to the lure building section, lot's of amazing builders in there always on the top of the game for same price as a major retailer for better quality, lot's of the same guys are on ebay with the listed parts they use too. Too many to list and lot's of great retailers but custom = better in my opinion and you can get them all over.

So I just showed my Mom these pics, she told me when she was young she had a medium sized dog take one in the neck by a average sized rattler when she was with her mom, the snake started rattling and the dog was protective like all dogs, so he tried to eat it and got bit good. Her dad said not to take it to the vet (my grandpa he's old school, lol) so apparently it swelled and pussed out within minutes for a full day and gradually just healed itself over the next day. Now I would recommed taking your pet to the vet, but I guess they can survive and as far as people it's apparently super painfull but not fatal unless your stuck in the bush by yourself and can't handle the pain to go get help, and a young kid or infant make sure you get to hospital asap. Generally the bigger the snake the more venom, the less you weigh the more it will affect you, I'm 240lbs but not willing to do a field test.
