One down, one to go. Pot luck Christmas lunch this week. I was asked if I would do something smoked. I said sure . So, I did up a BC Atlantic salmon side today from Costco . This came skinless and Y bones plucked. Perfect. It was put in a wet brine. It sure is delicious. 50/50 wood chunks. First pan apple, 2nd hickory. Before heading to the ice show, I did up a brine of brown sugar,kosher salt, pink pepper corns , cloves and 2 bay leaves. The turkey breast is bathing til 10 am . Do not disturb. Gets a thumbs up this year. Talk about tackle,huts,augers and suits . That striker is a sweet suit, but it will cost ya about 7 bills for jacket and bib. Everything you need for your ice fishing season is there. And to keep with the spirit, we had ice pellets and snow this morning and still falling. And of course,granddaughter got here pic with David. It was funny. Walked by the HT booth and no David. Oh no. She was looking and looking. We walked around and made our way back to the booth. There he was and she went running. LOL Thanks again David for making her morning . Great seeing a bunch of ice hound fellas again this morning. After the show,it was a quick trip to Cabelas for the Santa visit.

My thinking on the 1 lb propane bottle was , if they can make a gas auger , now run on propane, why not a small out board that can do the same. I know I am thinking only me and my toon, but I am sure it is possible. I know it,s CC,s and not HP.

I checked my yellow paper tags. One is for my lic,one is for my sport and the 3rd one is my temporary outdoors card. So I guess I am covered. New card required next year, so I guess I will get a hard card next year. This mixed up weather is not getting me excited to be in a rush anyways.LOL
