  1. Great report, nothing better than getting away from the cars and traffic and going fishing. Looks like nice spot too! Thanks for sharing MTBF
  2. Drop shot if the current isn't too swift maybe even twitching a Vision 110 jerkbait might work well. Never tried in there before.
  3. I wasted 5 minutes of my day today thinking about politics and Rob Ford..that I'll never get back
  4. http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/2013/11/12/brampton_mayor_susan_fennell_racks_up_186000_in_expenses.html Brampton Mayor Susan Fennell racks up $186,000 in expenses That is news. Somebody that needs to take some time off to recoup. Drugs whatever it's his personal life and yes if in trouble should be charged or in jain. Rumours and a fat stack of people that swear hes up to no good are all that are against him. The news is the government waste more money than all of you think and there is nothing anybody will do to stop it. Rob Ford is the only politician that has caught my eye in my short life for trying to do the good for the people by taking our money and doing good with it. Put him in jail or let him do his job, how dare those crooks tell him to leave when none of them were fit to be the mayor in the first place.
  5. The Vibrato is a nice spoon they make, got our order in they sold out lol. More on the way, innovative stuff for sure.
  6. Nice job guys! Great photos and report MTBF
  7. Right now or 6 months from now 2 pitching sticks 2 spinning. They came out with a new 7'5H and XH...got to try one of those out for pitching the cover next season Why buy any other rod, once you have felt and fished the best it's hard to go back for bottom contact fishing. I have other rods for movings baits and topwaters but when it comes to feel there is nothing like a NRX. 1 more shot next week, well soon see how the weather looks!
  8. Thanks guys, it's a nice lake looking forward to fishing it a few more times next season.
  9. Hello everybody, today I'm not feeling too good so what a better time to do a recap on a couple day trips to Rice I took this month with some friends from work. My first trip out was tough, flat calm enjoyable weather the temps were in between 60 and 58 through the day. We got 1 limit of eater size walleyes and I caught a couple bass for to keep us entertained that day. The water was very dirty still I remember on this trip, but enjoyed every second and got to taste some walleyes again! Scenic Shot First Smallie on the lake first of many to come I think. Hoisting up a pair of 14-1/2" r's haha, I was happy to fillet fish that night! Next trip was the toughest, we had a big storm surrounding the lake last week with calm weather then a East wind later. All in all we jigged more water then I care to remember, I got one fish that afternoon and it was football of a smallmouth on the bucktail. First was lunch! Really good fight and snapped a pic, the walleyes beat my friend and I. This trip water temps were between 51 and 53 degrees. And the best of the 3 but still by no means a killer day on Rice Lake was yesterday. A different pair of friends this time and the bassboat made for new water to fish and well very chilly cruises down the lake haha. We got to the first spot with no action for almost a hour. First pop on the line was bigger fish, over the slot limit so back she went. 21" Long, ah ok so maybe this lake does have some better sized fish. We were all catching the odd bass this day, maybe 10 or 12 together after the day. Love the colour on these fish this time of year, when I can go on my own terms next fall lookout. The bass are around and a flipping jig would be killer on them, can only imagine. Here was my best largie of the day, sitting in the thickest weeds he could find. Water temps on this trip are now well under 50 degrees. I think mid 40's was the range yesterday. My friends Carp he jigged up from 10FOW haha the best 5 minutes in the boat all day what a laugh. And last but not least, my new Kawartha PB, a solid 24" of Rice Lake gold. Beast of a fight when this fish came through the weeds at me. Great pic, fight, and release. The eaters escaped us once again but I might have one more shot at the lake this year, well see what happens. All fish in this report were caught on 3/8oz and 1/4oz bucktails. I would pitch them out and let them fall on slack line watching for line jumps when bites were not easy to feel(windy times). Soaked the hair with HogTonic scent once or twice daily. 15lb PowerPro braid tied direct pretty much sums up the technique for them. Like a pitching plastic for bass I'm getting the hand of it. A little more finesse but still fun. For now, take care and tightlines! MTBF
  10. It's hard to get good quantities of various brands and makes of ammo right now for the last few months and for the few to come. Not sure why don't hunt but that's the word. Hard to get.
  11. A stocked fish, pretty great can't ask for something better than that. After a 1hr fight it wouldn't stand much chance as it is but what a battle. Kudos to those guys. Great read, what a trophy.
  12. Nice bas Rich, man o man nothing better than seeing 1 or 2 of those every time you head out
  13. I believe the women in the family tell me they have a table at a Flea Market here in the GTA...can't remember what one but they were there most weekends earlier in the summer.
  14. Nice report and pictures Chris, what baits were catching all these smallies??? I saw a spinnerbait in one photo Thanks for the report MTBF
  15. Good to hear, we sell Eureka Tent's at the shop and used the Northern Canyon 6 myself this past June and August. Great tent, love the cabin style. Might have to spend some $$ but down the road warranty is nice to hear! Glad they took care of you.
  16. Very nice smallies thanks for sharing!
  17. Thanks for the reply's everybody it was a great summer.
  18. I haven't had older model rods replaced with the same lineups. A "old" Compre, Crucial, or Cumara will be replaced with a new current rod. Your 7' will now be a 7'2 your 6'6 will be a 6'8 and so on. Glad to hear you got looked after.
  19. I called in many rods again today...some from July, August others from the start September even...no charge warranty replacements happy customers. Warranty has to be looked at more, a cardoor is no longer being accepted. Were at fault so why should Shimano pay. I am not stabbing at you buckhorn but we see it weekly. crushed guides rods broken at the handle, it doesn't happen much. A clean cut blank was not in a bent motion (fishing) so many people fraud the system and why not for years money was wasted thousands of rods were replaced. Even though I only deal with several rejects when you tell the person why the rod is not being warranted it's understood and usually they own up to walking on there pole. A $20 processing fee to replace a $179.99-$599 Loomis is not much to ask, as far as NRX reel seat problems those are long gone unless guys still have "the first of the NRXs" that are only failing now. The new Wildcard Program on the GL2, GLX and NRX Lineup is unreal, register your rod through filling out a forum and you have a 1 time no questions asked replacement regarless if a fish breaks it or you did. That's a + in my eyes. Glad Bantam got back to you regarding the rods, didn't know that looks like more calls to make come a few weeks!
  20. Bummer Cliff, could not image loosing my tackle...best of luck in the security lockdown...Dam, try and enjoy the natural benefits of being in the country and now your forced to keep a eye on everything due to crooks....Catch em, just don't let them go too easy if you find out who
  21. Vision 110's by Megabass. I was throwing the 110+ a slightly deeper version over 16-22 FOW this past Monday. Caught largies suspended in the deep water. Water temps were at 68 degrees every spot gave me 2 or 3 fish and many small pike. I'm no pro this was one of my first times working Jerkbaits, I practiced a double twitch then reeling a ft or so, big twitches with the bait caster made the bait move 2-3ft to either side, incredible darting action. 6'8" Medium Ex-Fast Action Cumara on a Chronarch 50Mg.....10lb Fluorocarbon held up great I like Sunline FCSniper. Cheers MTBF
