  1. Open eye, all the good spinnerbaits I use are open eye and never had a problem. Usually "pike like" spinnerbaits and bigger baits have the closed eye for leaders and snaps.
  2. UPS stinks, the odd time we need to use them over Canada Post and UPS almost always break's rod tube's in the mail. I don't get it, Purlator, Canada Post and every other company can deal with a rod tube but 9 times out of ten tubes get broken by UPS. I see these truck's daily, i still see guys standing on parcel's trying to reach for high items in the truck..they don't give a damn, in the truck off the truck end of day. Sorry for your inconvenience, try and get it shipped purlator or Fed Ex in the future.
  3. Haven't played around Pflueger much, let's hope they have "great" warranty and customer service also At that price range hard to find things to complain about. CI4 for the win still
  4. nvm core is too much moola fast gear ratio the core 50mg7's are really nice. MTBF
  5. Nice buy, was going to say $350/$400 used. We sell them for 495 so yes very expensive
  6. The Stradic CI4 and the Ballistic are both fine reels. Although I have not fished the Ballistic I listen to people and have heard nothing but positive comments on these reels. The new Zaion Carbon material is lighter in weight and the Air rotor is a nice touch. This reel is very smooth out of the box, not sure on it's longevity. At 8.6oz the 2500 size is heavier. 35" retrieve on the Ballistic. Now the CI4 2500 is much more attractive in terms of weight sitting at 7.0oz and a 34" retrieve and not to mention a stronger drag at 15lb's vs Daiwa's 8.8lb drag. Both reels feature 7 ball bearings also. I'll mention that I love my Stradic CI4 and it's probably the best value for any angler. I have played with all of them right up to the Stella's. It all comes down to more expensive gears, parts and materials. Both are durable, affordable and well made. A couple of numbers for you, hope this helps. For $20 more I would strongly suggest picking up the Stradic CI4. Mike
  7. I have a large assortment of bullet's but to start off go with this. I have all Ultra Tungsten, there a decent price. They make the peg's too that you might need, I like to use them when pitching plastics 1/4oz 3/8oz 1/2oz 3/4oz 1oz I use 3/8oz and 3/4oz most common but on worms and other baits the little weight's like 1/4oz come out. Mike
  8. Since the summer of 2009 I have not been able to weigh a largemouth over 6lbs, I've had several in the high 4lb-low 5lb range but am due for another. Booked a week off in June for camping and fishing and 2 full weeks in August. I'm sure I'll be in for a good season And might even find that 6lb bucket I've been after. Tightlines, Feburary, March, April, May and it's here...time will fly by
  9. Looks great
  10. I agree, hope to see the old look back
  11. Great report msp, love the largies and big northern's! Wake Fishing has some interesting products, we are carrying the Jig Wobbler and some of the small grubs, they looks like they should all work great!! Awesome pics, thanks for sharing! MTBF
  12. That's what I was thinking haha. We sell lot's but never hear good stories about them.
  13. Nice job out there!
  14. Nice job Cudz, those largies are very nice. The beach fishing must be fun too, thanks for the report!
  15. Unreal season, thanks for posting all those pictures. Looks like you had a blast, save some for us next year
  16. happy new year, cheers to more fishing time next summer!

  17. I've left it at that and that's the way it's going to be If I dislike service and remarks on a weekly basis then I have no problem sharing my sarcastic disbelief for poor service...it is a store, not a friend of mine or a fello angler, a store. Happy New Year Slow Poke, all the best over this winternet season
  18. you dont hear complaints from people on a weekly basis. It's crappy that Kemper is in a situation but yes it does not surprise me. BPS has good service for a large retailer and they have a few stores in Canada, Sail with 8 openings in a season..there are lot's of troubles in the customer service department. Just my 2 cents, i dont post a lot on here like i use to and do my best to help people. In bad taste? please
  19. Haha, I would like to say I'm not surprised on that one..hope you get fixed up Kemper, not trying to start a bad thread. If it's a warranty issue on gear try me, might be able to help. Mike
  20. Merry Christmas everybody and to yourself also Lew!!
  21. sounds like a plan
  22. Ah i see, well I'll probably never use it but its nice to have haha lews autograph would be great lol
  23. Hey guys, I had somebody bring some older stream tackle by the store a few weeks back and one rod I was shown was a very good condition Lew's stream rod. I got the rod for cheap but knew that Lew's made rod's many years ago and just now were brought back into the fishing industry with new reels so far. Anyway I wanted to share some pictures of the rod, who know's if I'll ever use it Here is the info I know, I have been searching all over the net and can't find a value or picture of a similar rod. Hope to get some info on when it was made etc.. Lew's "SG" Graphite Speed Stick" SGN-2116ST 11'6" Noodle Action Made in Korea 1/16oz-3/8oz 2lb-10lb Pictures Handle section Logo Once More First Guide Model Info Put together it feels light and fairly crisp. Guessing it's from the 80's or 90's. Really not sure. Hope to hear some info on this one. Tightlines guys, MTBF
