New Shimano Rig... Line recommendations?
MCTFisher9120 replied to danklegrand's topic in General Discussion
Spool up some 8lb Power Pro or 10lb Sunline SX1. Definitely a braided line, will last longer will not stretch has lot's of strength and you will cast small baits further -
Good job, thanks for sharing

MCTFisher9120 replied to Fishing 24/7's topic in General Discussion
6lbs 15oz is the weight . Nice largemouth, Quebec is where I'll head next after I pound Eastern Ontario for another 5 years haha. -
Yes I put money into my hobby, the new HM-1 Cumara's are sweet lot's of lifting power with the guides closer to the blank. I still swear by that older 7'4H Cumara for froggin, good tip lot's of power when you swing. Also no complints from my dad or brother on the new reel seat design. My brother's crucial's tip guide popped so I loaned him one of mine Can't wait to get back in just over a month

I'll be pounding them for a week up near Gananaque..don't care what they are doing, I release them all and handle them well. The bonus is 1 less week to wait

Very nice gator, sucks when other species take over but when they do catch em!

My tent was in stock where I work (Gagnon's) this spring so brought it home then. Yes the site has high prices but I assure you the retail will be much lower if we ordered you one. Pick out a model and send a PM, I'll look up our cost and will give you a estimate on price next week. We stock some tent's but have some of "so so" tents left from the tent sale, special order any time your ready, if Johnson ourdoors has it in stock it would take no less than 2 weeks. MTBF

Eureka, we can order you anything available. I went with the Copper Canyon 6, it's only 10x10 but with a 7' ceiling "cabin style". Can't wait to use mine next weekend. Have a look http://www.eurekatent.com/home.aspx MTBF

Rain boots or shoes what do you use
MCTFisher9120 replied to Handlebarz's topic in General Discussion
No shoe is waterproof especially when fishing a week straight and getting poured on every day (Last August my camping trip) The answer is Shimano Evair sandals, there like croc's but much much better. Very light, comfortable, and made with EVA foam similar to the material used on the rods.1 http://fish.shimano.com/publish/content/global_fish/en/us/index/products/gear/Footwear/evair_sandal.html They dry fast too -
I'm the frog master...I can't spend a day bass fishing without any less than 9 or 10 different rods and baits in front of me but Flipping and Pitching plastics, jigs and punch rigs has to be 2nd place for me. Heavy braids and no messing around. Finesse fishing at it's best, put the trolling motor down pick apart the cover and get ready. Slop Froggin is #1 for me!! I still rather fight a largie on heavy braid a mile out Froggin than 20ft out in front of me.

Still have to try that, I was impressed with Seguar Senshi when I fished it. But also hear good things about Sunline, there Fluorobarbon is #1 and there braids are pretty nice too.

Looks like a good trip, catching them then having a taste, can't get much better than that! Thanks for sharing, MTBF

Dad took the picture off shore last August, heading out fishing with my brother, great desktop. Can't wait to get back in 4 weeks -
We got in some at Gagnon's guys. No hunting Reg's yet.
-
Shhh, Stanley doesn't make hooks In all seriousness use good braid, a double hook and your set. I like the Mann's Hard Nose Frog's myself when doing the boring cast and crank...Slop frog's is where it's at.
-
We have our order coming at Gagnons fellas, some 110's, Knuckles, Pop Max and some other's I believe, amazing baits...bought many through the winter haha

The truth is the ministry is only giving every retailer a single box of 50 copies of the regulations. Back in January we received a box of the new 2013 Fishing regs. We put them out front they went in a week and we kept a copy for the store. The year prior we had hundred's of reg's we gave out. This is something new they are doing and it seems it's a "save the paper" deal. Good to hear Hunting reg's are online, should see our box in the coming weeks then. We were told to tell the customers to go online for the reg's this year and print out the zone/zones your fishing Jeeze does the angler & hunter community get shafted these days
