The thin titanium line also works pretty well a lot of guys swear by it.

I've been using 17lb suffix flouro for years for pike chucking bass baits and almost never break my line. But if your chucking bigger baits I'd go with 40lb possible more if your baits are expensive

You can find them without, mine are pretty new and they aren't split grip. The Crucial's are a bit lighter then the avid which is why I think I like them more. A lot of people prefer the stiffer rods though.

I would prefer the mh for your applications. As long as you stick to bass lures for musky then you'll be fine. The avid is a nice rod and worth the upgrade, I have a couple. Check out the shimano crucial line up as well, I would trade all my avids for crucial's.

I'm guessing your a cat person... I wouldn't take two but every puppy is going to do some chewing and have accidents in the house and dig holes in the lawn. With propper training all of that will stop.

Fresh water drum is a sheep's head, and white bass and perch usually feed off the bottom as well as sheep's head. A grub should work fine, powerbait minnows work well and shallow cranks. But a jig head with a piece of worm would probably produce the most results. I'm assuming from the list of species your fishing lake ontario river mouths. Work your bait slowly, some days you will get into fish good, then you might go days without a bite but if you have patience and you are fishing lake Ontario you can get into that trophy fish you've been waiting for at any moment.

You could drill them out. But if you know how to use a chisel you can knock the head off in one wack

I bought a couple rods at the $100 dollar mark and hated them. I have a couple mojo's and I still don't see how any one could say they are a nice rod.. Compre's go for about $120 and the difference feels like a $100 price jump over the mojo's, and even if they were the same blank, for a couple mores bucks your good for life with shimano's warranty. I haven't tried every -$100 rod out there, but I do know I have wasted money buying to cheap. So unless you know some one with a lower end rod you can try out before buying, I'd stick with compre+.

I phoned up shimano looking for a pawl cap and the guy shipped me a new shiny metal one for free With the size of the package it came in I don't see them charging you for shipping either lol, but if your around the area just stop in.

I didn't have any problems with 832 before in the spring when using 30lb. It held it's color well, and casts awesome. We also noticed it didn't retain as much water as PP when we were trolling in below freezing temps, which helped minimize freeze up. (could mean it might sink slower..) I just bought 4 more spools at CT though and will probably go back before the sales over to get some more. Hopefully they aren't putting a bad batch on clearance

I've seen so many CO's this year and have yet to have even the slightest problem with them. One while ice fishing one came up to me and my friends jumped off his sled asked us how we were doing and then I started to unzip my suit and he quickly told me no no, you don't need to show me your license, don't want you getting cold. Another one at Oshawa creek chatted for a bit, walked away, then came back 15 mins later to chat and watch me fish. Most encounters from years before made me feel like I was being integrated..

Are you sure your talking about aluminum boats? I'm thinking your getting them confused with fiberglass. There are tons of fiberglass boats out there for free or next to nothing. The problem with them is the wood in between the resin rots, hull becomes soft, and they are a very big job the redo. If it is an aluminum boat then you don't have anything to worry about. Most can be fixed fairly easy and for that price tag you could always scrap it...

The thing is, not very many people will target lake trout in Lake O. But on the same note, rainbows aren't the biggest target out there either (open water) which is why I "was" assuming they haven't done any real stocking recently. You might think there are a lot of trout in the rivers mike but if you had of fished them not even 10 years ago you would understand all the bichin lol. I remember when I was 6 or 7, and I was fishing the creek near my house watching 30 trout swim back and forth across a fairly small pool in crystal clear water! Threw a spinner bait out that was in my tackle box, and let it sit on bottom cause I had no idea what the hell I was doing and sure enough a 3 or 4 pounder swam over to it and sucked it up! If I only knew how to set the hook properly back then....

One in Oshawa will have a "bass angler of the year" or something like that and will be doing a draw for a boat. Starts may 5.

My vote is for trilene sensation. I found it was the best all around line for center pinning and started running it in 10lb

If your tight on cash Mike you could always hit up princes auto and pick up some wire, terminals and fuse for pretty cheap. It's only 12volt, you shouldn't need anything heavy duty...

Haha, awsome, I can always use some decals I had a feeling you were going to say that lol. I don't recall seeing reports from you flat lining trout so I assumed maybe you just started. It's my first year trying for trout out in lake O, and by the looks of it, (if I get a bigger boat) bass might be taking a back seat this year. Hopefully I can manage to get some riggers by summer What are the specs of the lining rods your building yourself? Personally I would love an 8 maybe 9 foot rod with parabolic action out there that I could bend in half on a rainbow haha, bring the best part of float fishing to the lake!

Those are some nice rods your building there! Wish I had the cash for a custom rod. If I had to guess I would say the musky rod, light action rigging and, I'm thinking maybe you caught the itch and are making your self some nice flat lining rods. The rest I could easily see you having clients for this time of year.
