New broadcast partner carries award-winning show into 20th season The Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters (OFAH), producers of the award winning Angler & Hunter Television (AHTV) program, is thrilled to announce that after several weeks of negotiations, an agreement has been reached with OLN (Outdoor Life Network), a division of Rogers Media, to begin airing AHTV in January 2013. “The OFAH was taken aback when Shaw Media/Global Television informed us that the network was dropping all hunting programming by the end of the year, including AHTV. We were given the option to proceed with a fishing only show, but that was never a realistic alternative as it would compromise our integrity.” said OFAH Executive Director Angelo Lombardo. “We are pleased that OLN understands the time-honoured traditions of hunting and fishing, and recognizes that AHTV not only delivers a fast-paced, high-energy program, but also a lesson in the conservation of our natural resources.” AHTV has secured a Sunday morning, 8:00 a.m. timeslot for 52 weeks with OLN. The 20th season will premiere Sunday, January 6. This is an unprecedented step in a new direction for the program’s production, and one that will bring in a larger, more diversified audience. AHTV will also be available on CHEX TV, CKWS TV and WILD TV. “OLN offers its viewers a one-stop destination for adrenaline pumping action and adventure entertainment, featuring some of the most popular programs on television today,” said AHTV Host Mike Miller. “It is an ideal fit for AHTV and we look forward to a long and beneficial relationship with our new broadcasting partner.” OFAH has a long-standing partnership with Rogers, having purchased Ontario OUT OF DOORS magazine from the media giant in 2008. With over 100,000 members, supporters and subscribers, and 675 member clubs, the OFAH is the largest non-profit conservation based organization in Ontario. Hey NOW!!! Thanks for the comments guys... I tell ya.. I could have gotten an hour of video.. they were relentless.. even after I stopped feeding them they would scare the crap outta me on an hourly basis by coming in and landing next to me to see if there was a next course!!

I had an opportunity to go moose hunting to try to fill out some calf tags this weekend, with a very dear friend to me and his family... (we've been good friends since kindergarten) well the moose hunting was slow even though my more than capable guides dogged a couple of very large areas for us to no avail. On the second day.. this morning, however I was accosted in my watch by a band of PIRATES!! I filmed the burglary of my lunch, and chuckeled all day long at their persistence.. At one point I had to throw my crust away from the watch so i could eat my sandwiches as one of em, took a bite outta it while i was eating it!! LOL.. Its a great vid, there's a treat at the end. <iframe width="640" height="480" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/bC5DtEzLVmQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Oh,,, and yes,.,, that is duct tape on my rifle... if anyone can get me the pin to fix it.. lol. lemme know!

Proposed New Bass Changes for Southern Ontario
TJQ replied to SmokestackLightnin's topic in General Discussion
It always makes me wonder.... they are an invasive species, but cause they are fun to catch and decent to eat, they get protected... id say open the season year round everywhere..... they effect walleye and trout populations so what makes them better than asian carp.. i love fishing for them but sometimes it seem a bit hypocritical to me. ive seen a lake north of here full of pickerel, one year i caught a bass, had never caught one there before, .. and now theres more bass than you can shake a stick at, and far far less pickerel. -
Good for those guys... i though the vid was pretty funny... not that there's anything wrong with that.

Awesome reports, and congrats Spiel!!!

OFAH to host Walleye workshop The Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters (OFAH), along with Fisheries Management Zone (FMZ) 17 Advisory Council, which covers the Kawartha Lakes, Trent and Crowe River watersheds, and the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR), is hosting a free, public workshop on the state of Walleye in FMZ 17. It will take place Wednesday, October 24 from 5:30pm to 9:00pm at the OFAH|Mario Cortellucci Hunting and Fishing Heritage Centre in Peterborough. Speakers will discuss walleye assessment, management, enforcement, habitat needs and the impacts of invasive species. The workshop is part of the Walleye Management Strategy for Zone 17. Developed by the Advisory Council and the MNR, the strategy aims to increase public awareness around Walleye and Walleye management. "An up-to-date understanding of the state of our fisheries and what factors are affecting them is key to making informed decisions for both governments and stakeholders," said Chris Robinson, OFAH Atlantic Salmon Program Coordinator and Master of Ceremonies for the workshop. "We have a great evening of presentations lined up that everyone with an interest in Walleye management in FMZ 17 will want to hear." Seating is limited, so interested individuals are encouraged to register at [email protected]. For more information, including a schedule of presentations, visit www.ofah.org/fishing/fmz-17-walleye-workshop. For details on FMZ 17, visit the MNR's website at www.mnr.gov.on.ca/en/Business/LetsFish/2ColumnSubPage/264442.html.
