I have the HDS-7 unit and wish I had purchased the HDS-8 for the larger screen. Take this into consideration, how big of a screen you want/need (and can afford of course), when you make your purchase. I now regret not getting the larger one up front. I also have the Navionics Hot Maps for Candada. Unfortunately, the lakes and rivers I fish ... are not yet HD. My current card is several years old and, unless the newer versions give me soemthing I don't already have, I'll keep using what I got.

Exactly, and an excellent point. We make sure nothing with a hook is in a place the dogs can get to it - accidently or just by curiosity.

We have two dogs and typically they go with us on all our fishing trips (except for our Lakair GTG). They both also go with us out on the boat and behave very well. We also bring along some snacks, but they want them the minute we get them in the boat. They're fine for hours. Once in a while we'll pull up on shore to let them out to take are of business and run a round a bit - which they just love. Our Airdale does not like the water and is not a swimmer, so she wears a life jacket - and does not mind it at all. Of course, having pets does limit us on which camps we can go to - due to a "No Pets" policy. Some camps do charge extra for pets as well.

There's a number of posts that I also just skip over. But, what may not be of interest to me, may be to others, so that's OK. Some, you can tell right away they'll head down-hill. Wouldn't that be something if .... we all had Jen's positive attitude, drive and determination through all of life's challenges. Sure would make anyone a better person by following Jen's example. I fully agree, Jen is (and should be) an inspiration to all.

Been raining here all week long. Couple half-decent days over the week-end and more rain for a good part of next week. I hope this is not a sign of what's to come this winter. Maybe it will get it out of its system now.

Sucks big time for sure. I still miss my fishing buddy and it's been over three years now since we had to put her down at only 7 years old.

Sometimes an accident is a good thing.

I've received the call three times. 1). I got selected and sat on a 1-day trial for a man accused of shop lifting. 2). Was not selected and released after the first day. 3). Selected to sit on a Jury. Case was about a male accused of forcing another young male to perform certain unmentionable things. Arrived for the first day of the trial and sat in a back room while they worked out a plea. Kinda glad they reached a deal and we were released. That would have been a rather sickening thing to sit through. Should be about time for another call. They used to go by voter registration, but found they weren't getting enough prospective jurers. Now I believe PA is pulling info from Driver's licenses. One good thing, once you reach age 70, you can exempt yourself from ever being called again.

Sweet. Goes to show ya that when something isn't working - change things up a bit. Great Day.
