ya like Cityfisher said.. If your in the area and have acess to a boat and trailer.. try a few of the other lakes. but I have been told to stay away from Bay Lake and I think the other 1 right next to it is sand lake.. but i could be wrong.. but its not to great either..

haha Cliff I know how ya feel! tho I have been using 15lb braid when Im fishing weeds. and I try and have a 8-10 lb Fluro Leader when fishing open/clear water.. as for the snap swivel.. who knows.. I guess it just depends how picky the walleye are. ps#1 try trolling through red bouy's #cp12-cp13 ps#2 where is Queensway Bait? never heard of it..

we hooked into about 5 so far fishing for walleye on both Hair jigs and grubs any where from 35''-45'' here's one that we got a picture of about 42'' I literally just lifted her out of the water when my buddy took the picture hence the hook still in its lip and the awkward hold

The things I come across once in a while going fishing

now I'm not familiar with the area.. but why would you park so close to the edge !? -
Hey I have a few friends that live on and near Bay lake. in around Novar/Emsdale area. they honestly normally dont have much luck on the lake. and instead they prefer to fish other surrounding lakes. I believe there are LM/SM Bass , Splake , and rock bass in Bay Lake.. though I have yet to fish it as they dont really like to when there are so many other lakes to choose from up there! but if you do go let me know how you make out!

ya there are some BIG fish in the Kawartha's my buddy hooked into a good 6lb smallie the last time i was on Scugog.. but if you find scattered weed beds in about 4-6' of water let your beetle spin or hair jig fall into the pockets then rip it out. as well cast and reel along the top and edges of it. seem to work for me. I find the more contact you have with the bottom the better. alot of my fish I have been catching are right along bottom. expecially on sunny days. though on over cast days they arnt as tight to the structure.. hope that helps

yup just got my 100$

I have also been tempted to buy one. I hate wearing the bulky kinds.. for the most part I use my Kayak pfd it has more mobility but its still a pain in the butt..
-
Cliff im not sure where you live on the lake, but me and my buddy were fishin it yesterday.. wind sucked so we ended up trolling and well we caught 1 each, (16'' and 17'') slowly trolling a beetle spin / white grub. also hooked into probably one of the biggest largies I have ever seen..(trolling) didnt plan it nor did I land it. also caught some HUGE rock bass and sunfish ! and well a ton of perch that wouldnt leave our lures alone
-
Hey Cliff I caught another one out there ... only one tho !
-
good idea. I think im gunna hit up your body of water again today and try my luck I will let you know if i find them (walleye)

Now Im confused what to do, I inherited my boat from my grandfather who past away about 3 years ago. the boat is a 14' with a 9.9 and well I heard I dont need any paper work for the boat as its under 10hp but what about the trailer that was given with the boat? what do I need to do with that. as well as what do I do as I am looking at getting a used 25hp for my boat because I would then be over the 10hp no paper limit. any information would be appreciated

I just got back from Huntsville area fishing for pike and walleye, my buddy knows the lake semi well and has caught pike off the docks and we were casting at docks and catching pike.. me fishing the kawartha's all the time I was a little skeptical about dock fishing.. aka normally would catch bass.. though I have caught 2 Musky from under docks.. and the same dock more then once.. but like you Bill I go into MNR mode too when I see people who look like they are bass fishing

Our Annual Big Gull Trip (pictures)
fish-miester replied to Fish Farmer's topic in General Discussion
fish-meister, to bad we didn't meet up. You must have stayed on little Gull west end. You have to go through the narrows to Big Gull. Mostly Bass and Pike west end. We don't fish west Gull, we mostly fish the deeper part of the lake on the shoals. If your there again when we are, we have FRS radios we talk on between our group. well like I said I was spending more time catching up with a few friends I dont get to see to much off, but I did take them out in the boat a few times and caught a dozen or so snot rockets. any where from 1.5' to just over 2' but next time I head up there I'll venture out on the big body for eyes -
hmm sounds good to me

Rick buddy.. I'll talk to you on FB. me and my buddies have been doin alright for walleye. 3-5 fow + weeds
