  1. wow guys that report just made my day! and convinced me to call up my buddy from up north to start planning a fishing gettaway
  2. been there many times. and maybe its just me but it can somtimes feel rewarding.. after a long day of fishing and dealing with speed boats, boat problems, and grumpy cottage owners that freak out on you before you even get to there dock! it can be nice to talk to a cottage owner about whats workin. or if you catch a bass under there dock etc. I remember last year i was fishing an empty dock while the dock a cast away there was a father and son on it fishing. i made one flip under the dock and pulled in a 3lb largie, the kid was so excited and the father was even impressed. the kid was asking to see it etc so i pulled over and showed them. the father told me that i just made the kids day as 5 minutes before the kid was saying how much he hated fishing. and well if I can make that little kids day by showing him a fish thats awesome and hopefully he still likes fishing. i then started talking to them and gave them a few plastics that had been working for me that day and showed them how to rig them. the father wanted to give me $5 for it but i refused and told him that hes gunna need it after he finds out how well they work. he thanked me and off I went. (ps I let the bass go under there dock, hopefully for the kid to catch another day if not someone else) not all cottage owners are Jack's and and not all dock anglers are pro's. but the best thing you can do is respect each other.
  3. yup had the same thing happen with a 40'' ski last month haha not fun
  4. was wondering on the aprox cost?
  5. you sir are a pro! thats a beauty job !
  6. power pro or stren super braid.. never had a problem with either until last week my 50lb PowerPro snapped for no reason about 50 feet from the lure.. boy oh boy I wasnt a happy camper. but other then that no problems. hopefully that was the first and last
  7. hm i would do that but I dont have a starting battery as my motor is a pull start.
  8. a slammer is a goby / minnow shaped plastic mainly used for drop shot and shaky head, made by strike zone as for my go to smallie baits #1 Xrap / jerk bait #2 spinner bait #3 football jig / tube #4 Popper / spook #5 Dropshot minnow
  9. in the past two years I used the minn Kota 45lb Powerdrive and well I liked it. but hardly used the auto pilot. so i was thinking of getting the Edge or Maxxum with cabledrive. and I guess I'd run the 2 batteries as in the past I would have two batteries in the boat for a full day of fishin. tho with the 24volt system how would I hook up my 12v fish finder? just hook it to one? or what? as well as a bilge pump ?
  10. Il be honest I like reading these posts. yes they do seem a little "spam-ish" but thats the vibe when ever I read any of the "guides" posts. and well I wish there was more feedback on all the guide services out there.. good and bad. I'll be honest I was sorta looking into taking a trip up there or one mush like it and reading the mixed review its a tough call though the 40% is a beauty deal and the fact of getting away is always nice.
  11. not trying to steal your thread but Im was also curious to see what people prefer (12v/24v.. cable driven or electric) as Im unfortunately in search of a new trolling motor / battery after some one stole mine.. I personally am on my trolling motor all day long bass fishing. and want something that is going to last me
  12. hey did my 14' tinny last year.with a 45lb. so a 55lb should do ya just fine..(though bigger may be better as its better to run ur motor at half power then full constant) as for the deck I would extend it and well it would be super easy to do in your boat as you dont need to work with the shape of the hull etc..(personal prefference tho) as for mounting the trolling motor what i did was i removed the front plate/ light then fitted a piece of plywood about 15 inches long and cut to shape and put it inline with the edge of the boat and screwed it in. then put the old plate back in its original place (had to cut out a grove in the ply wood to make it fit but now it is sturdier then ever. now there is plenty of space for my trolling motor. as for the 12 vrs 24 volt / on board charger.. Im not much help
  13. what are they goin for $? might go pick up a ultra light for crappie.. been putting it off for a long time but if the price is right
