  1. I didn't realize gas was free everywhere else...
  2. Ya...it makes me feel all warm & fuzzy everytime I buy something, file my return, fart... ...and EI is paid by my EI premiums, not by the taxes on my used boat.
  3. The weather finally cooperated with my schedule and I was able to get the dock and the boat in the water on Friday. It was a far cry from Good Friday last year, with 20 to 30 km winds battering us for the couple of hours we managed out on the lake. We ended up skunked for the day, bar a tiny OOS bass. Unexpectedly, yesterday turned into a fine Easter Sunday... I snuck out with the dog for an hour or so, and got a few decent crappie, biggest being about a 12 incher... ...which quickly turned into this... The bite was far from fast & furious, really had to work the tiniest nibble into a bite.
  4. Board sponsors & advertisers might disagree...
  5. If I was a cop, that would certainly be my attitude...the registry be damned.

OK I just checked, 3 times my total posts...

    OFN

I've been a member here ever since I got my first computer, more than 10 years now. Although I don't post as much as some (I haven't checked, but I'm sure Paul has eclipsed my total by the hundreds in less than a 10th of the time), I'm on this site at least 2 or 3 times a day. I wish I could fish the number of hours I spend here. I haven't joined any other boards, I don't know where people would find the time. Sandra and I will be at our first G2G at Lakair in June. I'm so looking forward to meeting a bunch of OFNrs I can't wait.
  8. More run-off for the lake...
  9. I also wanted to mention, on PokerStars anyways, American players make up a very small percentage of the total, probably even less than Canadian. The vast majority of players seem to be eastern European (Russian, Ukraine, etc.) with a scattering from the rest of the world.
  10. I play PokerStars a few times a week on the penny tables. I've only ever made one deposit of about $30 a few years ago, whenever it was that somebody set up a little private OFC tourney there. I happened to win that game and have been playing with the resulting $100 ever since. Right now I only have about $25 in play, but my account has varied from as low as $6 to almost $200 at one time. I have never taken a payout and probably wouldn't bother ever making another deposit if I finally ever do lose my pittance invested. But for a $30 lark at least 3 (maybe even 4) years ago, it's been fun. I'm sure that PokerStars has made a good return on my play, must be hundreds in rakes and tourney fees.
  11. Living outside Quebec makes that very difficult...
  12. Wow...lighten up...it's just the internet.
  13. Pike is open all year in FMZ 17, though there is a limit.
  14. That may be your problem right there...you need to catch bigger fish.

    g2g

She's still young and only had limited boat time last year. I'll have to see how she is early this season. Sandra's worried that I'll be out fishing all day and she'll be stuck dog-sitting back at camp.

Well Sandra & I are booked for a campsite and dockage for the get2gether. We'll be Lakair virgins, so please be gentle... Just need to decide if we should bring the dog.
  17. The last of the ice blew out of my bay on Buckhorn yesterday. I think we're pretty much ice free throughout the Kawarthas now.
  18. That's too bad. When did he leave? Is he still gonna work independently? Nobody could whip a reel back into shape like Bud could, most times at negligible cost.
  19. It looked like it was pretty well out of juice by the end...
  20. Musky opens on Buckhorn first Saturday in June, too early for the bass though.
  21. I drove through Cesarea and Port Perry just this morning. No ice to be seen from the launch at Cesarea, Port Perry was still iced in. Hope this helps.
  22. I just picked up one of these Travel Q at Costco for $150, even comes with the travel bag.
  23. Didja waterproof your connections at the bilge? It's pretty wet down there, could be causing a partial short.
  24. I've watched my dogs eat plenty of things I wouldn't...the latest was a dead mouse the cat left on the deck, should I have saved some for you?
