  1. Happens to me all the time. About 3 years ago at the end of one of the "Sopranos" episodes they ended with a song, but I was not able to write any lyrics down as I heard it from another room, nor was it listed on the HBO site. Drove me nuts for two years until I caught the episode again and jotted down the lyrics. Thanks to google and a lyric site I not only know what the song was, who the artist is, but have it on my play list and burned as well. The song......... Artist » NILS LOFGREN » Song: Black Books Lyrics One last time from Freddy's joint we drove out to lover's point shared our last kiss eye to eye Spoke of tender times long past said they weren't meant to last too many different dreams to satisfy She wants new shoulders to cry on new backseats to lie on and she always gets her way She wants to see other guys get lost in other eyes baby's in the black books yes she's in the black books today I've yet to find a dreary bar where whispers don't drift from afar about her wild and wicked ways The hardest truths don't have a why often true love will just die and leave a grief to haunt the lonely nights and days She wants new shoulders to cry on new backseats to lie on and she always gets her way She wants to hurt other guys put tears in other eyes baby's in the black books yes she's in the black books today She wants to hurt other guys put tears in other eyes Baby's in the black books yes she's in the black books today
  2. It's always neat to see what the mind can come up with, and that is one good idea. No that you have it working properly let me suggest a cabin for the machine. You'll most likely have to remove the windshield ( I had to on my Yamaha ) but I guarantee you the difference in comfort while plowing is amazing. Their easy to mount and remove ( I have mine on with 4 bolts )
  3. The vehicle is just a new Hi-Tech variation of the original Amphicar from the 60's Check out the club site and view an original invoice. Selling price in 1964 $2818.50 My wife's uncles neighbor in Lake Geneva Wisconsin had one and we used to go for rides in the lake on occasion. Wasn't to fast but you sure got a lot of looks. http://www.amphicar.com/
  4. That was enjoyable and informartive. I sent the link to a few of my "construction" type friends.
  5. Your thinking of Kesagami Lake http://www.aircochrane.com/ Or the higher priced http://www.kesagami.com/ Aaron it's not to early, most of the better outfitters in these areas are fairly well booked up from year to year with American repeat business. Just like guides down here! Leuenbergers one of my favourites http://www.leuenberger.ca/ I've been told these guys are good http://www.twin-lakes-air.com/ and a few more http://www.midnorthflyincamps.com/ http://www.northlandoutfitters.com/ http://www.jtair.com/
  6. Heres a few shots from a storm in 03 Not enough freezing rain here today to post pictures of.
  7. Although I have driven 4 X 4's for years I agree and it also makes me chuckle, but then again the new 4X4 owner that tries the system out on dry pavement and tries to make a turn also makes me smirk.
  8. Monday is my volunteer day at the camp. We were going to cut more ( tree ) tops today but we all decided inside at our house was better.

  10. Years back just a last light we had a bull come up out of the culvert on 560 going from Gowganda to Elk Lake. At the time I had a GMC 3/4 full size diesel van. The lower portion of his head was about at eye level through my windshield and the rack towered above the van. Largest bull I have ever seen to this day. Oh yeah he just walked slowly across the road as if to say you hit me were all going to be done! Moose are not the most predictable animals especially in rutting season OR when black flies at thick in the bush.
  11. Without seeing the installation manual I wouldn't want to venture an incorrect opinion, to much money paid to ruin the unit. You would probably be best off to contact Lowrance directly, Think the Cdn number is 1-800-661-3983. If I were you I would wait until tomorrow and talk to a tech.
  12. Wayne, That last part about the back up lights in the instructions is what made me question it with the manufacturer.
  13. I think you will find that the current regulation coming into effect this January is for those traveling by commercial carrier only. Private trips come into play at a later date. As far as being in a boat and touching ( landing on ) US shore then you should either have a Nexus or I-68 on your personage. Without it US border services can impound the boat and you. That also will be changing to a passport or some yet to be determined piece of identification the same as with car travel later in the program.
  14. I thought of purchasing on the these devices when I first saw them at CTC for $149.95. Figured it would be nice mounted on the door of the truck camper so I could see the boat behind. Never did buy it so 4 days ago I checked at our local Sarnia Wal-Mart ( it's in the process of being liquidated mad moving to it's new 225000sq ft. location across the street) to see if they were on a liquidation sale. As of Monday they were $139.95 so I didn't get one. Yesterday ( Wednesday ) I was again in Sarnia and thought what the heck might as well check again. Well I'm happy I waited as they were reduced to $60 at the Sarnia store only, so hell yes I bought one. There is one limitation however, the LCD monitor will over heat if left on for about 2 hours according to the tech I questioned at the mfg. today. But still, you can turn it on and off as desired and for $60 I can put up with that.
  15. Amy and I are booked in for an RV site so 8 humans & 1 dog
  16. Don't know about my home but it HAS as of this morning found it's way into my head and as_!
  17. If you read the release , commercial bait harvesters are not permitted to catch bait fish for resale anywhere south of the 402 and where it meets up with the 401 in London and south of the 401-402 from the Western Ontario border to the Quebec border. The transportation part is meant for the private fisherman that catches minnows and states they cannot transport from one area to another. I.E. If you catch minnows and are using them at one location and you want to pack up and move a mile to a different area, and you are south of the afore mentioned highways you as a private citizen CANNOT bring the minnows in your possession with you. The ministry dosent have to worry about commercial transportation as since they are not allowed to catch baitfish there are none for them to transport. There is a buffer zone from North of the 420-402 to approx Tobermory and to Lake Simcoe where bait can be moved by private citizens as well as harvesters if caught in that area, but to be safe if you want to avoid and Bull should you be asked. Get a receipt from the bait seller and/or be able to document where you obtained the minnows. All this is due to the VHS virus...and we all thought that VHS was dead oh wait, not that kind of VHS! Kepp watching MNR releases for additional information.
  18. Does that now mean the name on Tim Horton's tombstone will have to be changed?
  19. We keep different rooms at different temps, especially the bedrooms which we prefer cold. Our house is two level and is heated by a heat pump, so unless the resistance heaters turn on the air out of the ducts is never hot but luke warm to cool. I do use a supplemental propane fireplace to keep the lower lever rec room, and computer area warm, but unless the temp outside is -8 or more it gets turned on about 5 or 6PM and off when I decide to call it a night. I also have a small furnace in the garage should I decide to work out there...one of the better investments I made for the winter. In summer I would hope to never be without A/C.
  20. I don't usually get stressed or mad if we don't get something, but after three days fishing a derby with no results I do get fed up and want to take a day or two off. If I'm on a Northern trip however, I consider catching fish as just another reason to go. I love to spend a week or more in either the trailer or truck camper doing what I want when I want and although admittedly fishing is a much fun as camping to me, I have never felt a trip was a bust if I didn't catch much or for that matter be able to get out fishing a lot due to weather. I went North the first week of Sept last year and spent a week in the trailer. It rained every day except one and was cold and windy. When I got home my wife asked "so did you have a good time in the rain" to which I replied " I didn't think a man could read that much or sleep as long as a dog does, and yes I had a great time."
  21. Nice to see your efforts paid off. It sure is unusual this time of year to see all the fishing posts with pictures of fishing open water.
  22. I know it's a bit early but I've reserved my spot and know others have also. Just interested at this point on how many are going to try and make it this year? It's one great time AND feed!!!!!
  23. Growing up in the Chicago area I learned to love blues misic while I was very young. Muddy Waters ( McKinley Morganfield ) was my and continues to be my favourite Blues Artist. A friend sent this clip to me and if you like blues and especially know Muddy's style you should find this funny. http://www.littleknownblues.com/video/Fami...dy%20Waters.wmv

  25. Last Thursday when I left for town a OPP cruiser was coming into our subdivision which is very unusual. I returned about a half hour later there were a few more along the road adjacent to the seasonal houses along the lake. I know all of the people that live here so I stopped and asked one of the officers if there was a break in. He replied yes and did I know any of the people how owned the houses, to which I started to give him the names. He asked me if I would walk along with him and we found another 4 homes and three boat houses broken into as well as numerous sheds. I gave him the names of the owners and phone numbers so they could be contacted. After about an hour I suggested that they might want to take a look at the block south of us that also runs along the lake, and left to have lunch. When they checked they found another 7 homes broken into. Friday I got a call from the camp I work for which is 5 min from our house, seems that the managers home was broken into while he and his family were sleeping and the 1st floor and basement ramsacked. I told him I would check the seasonal trailers in the park and found 5 broken into , all along the area closest to the lake. So more time spent with the police on Friday. This morning (Sunday) there was another cruiser by a neighbors house away from the lake. Seems like they also were broken into while they were asleep Saturday night. I checked the police press release for our area and found the about 15Km from us 49 trailers were broken into at the A.W. Campbell conservation area. We have lived here for 25 years without incident, no worries, no problems but now everyone I talk to is paranoid, not only about being broken into but what will happen to them if the catch the person(s) and try to stop them. I find it a sad commentary on society when you have to be afraid of what will happen to you if you decide to defend your property. Yeah, Yeah I know the scenario leave the police handle it, but lets be realistic. In our county it takes over an hour to drive from one end to another. At night there are only 2 cruisers on the road so how much help can you possibly get even if they ever get to you. If these people are ever caught ( which is unlikely ) and they are younger they will get community service or probation. If older maybe 90 days of incarceration...oooh what a deterrent. End of rant!
