  1. First muskie? Time to retire from muskie fishing!!
  2. The guy had 32 rainbows in his van??? Unreal
  3. IMG not IMAGE.
  4. Da walleyes are stacked like cordwood!!!
  5. Good call on the spring comment. Ive walked past open water in mid february after a week of -35's on some smaller lakes with heavy spring activity.
  6. Spent lots of time out thru the years and youre absolutely nuts for going out there in a canoe. A light on shore can turn half foot waves out on the lake into 3 footers once it hits the current. Ive had multiple close calls out there in deep aluminums. If youre cray to do it again, at least put the canoe in at the end o liverpool so you dont have to venture far. And yeah, clear water is almost always the kiss of death if youre not out for first light. Time to bust out the planer boards
  7. Nice looking shotty, and a couple nice eaters too!
  8. Who the hell would want that hideous thing on their wall??? LOL
  9. After Monday, it looks like the subzero temps will be sticking around for a while, but its not looking like real ice-making weather just yet. Last year we were drilling holes Dec. 1st but I'm not sure that'll be the case this year. Being cramped up in a canoe in full winter gear sucks!!! Bring on the ice!
  10. Coast makes good equipment, and OOD is obviously an awesome mag.
  11. Get to know the area via the stocked easier access lakes and go from there.
  12. It seems as though they acknowledged that habitat degradation is an important factor along with harvest numbers. I filled it out based on when i used to fish for those resident trout up to a couple years ago. Cant see limit reductions playing a huge role, but when i think of some of the more productive stretches of brookie water on those headwater streams there is no way that a five fish limit would be sustainable is people were to start fishing there in numbers.
  13. Ha! Very 'classless' thing to do apparently. Wouldnt want to offend any soccer moms drivin past!!
  14. Nice chrome bullets. Forum full of steelheaders and the only report comes from someone who only chases em once in a blue moon!
  15. The yr-round lakers and splakers have been chompin' last week or two! Once this cold snap lets go there should be another good week of action coming up before the big lockup!
  16. Link works fine. That 'settling' slop looks gnarly! Cool pics
  17. Thats a lotta horseplay for one summer. Looks like the farms been treatin ya well. Sweet report
  18. Between the two flashers, definitely the marcum. Great little unit.
  19. If theres fish in the river, the brown roe will get em!
  20. Simcoe is massive and likely can support both, like many other lakes of its size
  21. -9 last night and a skim over the ponds and ground getting firmed up...But i still managed a few troots in the pal today so all is well. Take it as it comes i guess. I cant wait for my first northern marathon (sprinting to the far tipup)
  22. Great fish! Time to go back with some big suckers and get some more!
  23. I look forward as well, but no need to be hasty... It'll be here for the long run in no time. I'm still hoping for another handful of open water trips, but it's tough to find a decent weather day between everything else this time of the year.
  24. Yeah these thermos' are excellent. Had a thermos of chicken broth in my truck for 2.5 days with temps between 0 and -5 and it was still hot to the tongue.
  25. Haha! Looks to be pushing 30 inches regardless!!
