  1. If you have a snowmobile, and/or want something more off the beaten trail look into Opimika Wilderness Camps
  2. You'll have lots of snow cover, ATV travel probably won't be too fun but likely doable.
  3. Ebay is tailored to commercial outlets...tough to see any profits as a low-volume private seller.
  4. God I'm glad my local lakes are a hundred miles from the nearest parking lot. Just park on da ice eh!
  5. Jess dragged my a$$ out snowshoeing Saturday...glad I did....little colder tonight though!!
  6. Bring minnows...lol Some guys swear by glow spoons, others by flashy flutter spoons. Depends on the day like everywhere else. I've had days where minnows weren't neccesary, but not many...
  7. That's a tick touriére! Looks hearty. Nice job
  8. Love the sleigh! Nice sled too, is that a Panther? I'd have to have a lot of trust in the driver to be hanging off the back like that haha
  9. Deep frying a herring is like eating a slimy dishcloth. Gotta smoke 'em
  10. His comments were, well...pretty outlandish and frankly had some pretty hateful undertones. I don't have much else to contribute other than pointing the finger towards any group as being 'more insulting' as a whole than the next is ridiculous and accomplishes nothing. If you have found your faith within the realm of science (as many have) and beyond an ancient textbook, then good for you! But I find it truly confusing that people can liken suscribing to the works of Darwin as an 'act of faith' no different than creationism. Not sure I'll ever understand...
  11. I've never scaled any of mine, but they seem to be deceptively light fish. I think a record cisco is likely a lot bigger than you might expect it to be. Tough to find a better lake than nipissing for big cisco though...nasty buggers
  12. If you dont feel like cooking it, chunk it up and save it for catfish and lakers
  13. There is a tournament run out of frenchman's bay every year (at least there was) and many big perch get iced every year. There is a population of pike in there and they tend to congregate in one area of the bay, and so do all the fisherman. I'm sure you will notice.
  14. I like to pan fry my whitefish in a small dollop of butter and a light coatin of italian bread crumbs. Can't help ya with the herring, just don't fry it...gross.
  15. What a crazy mutiple species adventure. What a place!
  16. No kidding. Time to buy a smoker Brian
  17. Niiiiice fish. I love how dark the splake can get in those stained water lakes.
  18. Wont do much to the ice, but conditions will be awesome once things firm back up. I wish we were getting some of that up here. We need a good thaw to knock down the slush

  20. Any long track, fan cooled machine in 340 up to 550 cc should do you fine. The indy lite 340 was a good choice, but there are many out there that do the trick. I have a 550 sport touring thats great on the trails and for ice fishing, just doesn't perform too well breaking trail in to the back lakes around here. A bravo or Skandic would be my one and two for back lake fishing but dont offer much for trail riding
  21. Cost of the tracks + additional maintenance costs = enough cashola to buy a really nice sled!!!
  22. The new V6's are incredibly capable these days. Many have more horsepower than the 350 in my '92 GM. As mentioned, it might suck a little more gas but you'll definitely be capable.
  23. Ling are awesome, and super aggressive in the winter. I've seen them rifle up off the bottom like a laker to smash a big buckshot, and they fight great too. Cubed, boiled, and dipped in garlic butter...mmmm
  24. Stopped by your shack yesterday in the sled around 11. Guess you werent out yet. Our Cbay spot was a little slow but still quite good.
