  1. My friend from Nova Scotia brought me a bunch of this stuff about a year ago, and I loved it! very nice flavour
  2. It's definitely gone down in numbers, but it's still plenty busy while the derby is on. I find it funny how drastically the number of people fishing the lake drops before and after the derby, which is usually the absolute best times around here.
  3. I keep a bucket in the winter for perch and walleye fillets. Gotta remember to clean it out before mid-March rolls around...
  4. Hogs! You got those big boys dialed in. Nice goin'
  5. What a sloppy report...
  6. Strong offshore winds and recent rain have triggered the bruisers back home for their voyage upstream. All fish were taken shallow, most on black/green or black/orange rac's. Some fish are already turning black as night, while a couple were still just about chrome. The old man had the hot stick for the first 3... Then I started catching up... The high mark was about 23 or 24. Managed this nice teenager on a big orange x-rap. He lunged clear out of the water about 5 feet from the boat. Hopefully one or two more cracks at these fish are in the books before it's too late...then it's fall musky and smallies. Tight lines.
  7. Legal or not, it's clearly the best way to dispose of them as far as I'm concerned.
  8. Restoule is a good suggestion. Bon Echo PP would also be a great destination.
  9. i see you're ignoring the countless other pics of my beautiful catches Good fishin with ya bud. We'll get into some trout this fall.
  10. It's been a serious issue along Callander bay and the North Bay shoreline for many years now, so this isn't really surprising. boil water advisory = drink beer advisory "It's the safe choice, dear"
  11. XL and Suffix are all I use for probably 90% of my fishing applications, and haven't had much to complain about with good braid like powerpro whenever I use it, which isnt much. I shoulda got into marketing...
  12. On Through The Night is far and away their best stuff!
  13. Not sure I've ever been so immersed in a fishing report as I was with that one. Fantastic!
  14. Lost probes always suck, but that's a hell of a fish. Only one tyee for myself as well. Good to see ya supporting Tightline. used to work there myself not long ago.
  15. Don't get frustrated. Mid-summer + , well, they're Aurora's. Probably among the most elusive freshwater fish on the planet. I'd suggest trying your hand with specks and lakers and getting familiar with them before trying to get those stupid auroras. I know south of Haileybury there's a bunch of lakes stocked with various trout.
  16. Excellent photos. Waxwings are beautiful birds. Never noticed the red markings on their wings before.
  17. Good call on the classic Soundgarden track The Velvet Underground - All Tomorrow's Parties http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CrRVaYF-O4U
  18. Nice lakers dude! You got those babies dialed in year round it seems.
  19. So long as you're in the bush, I wouldn't think twice about it. Trigger locks might be a good idea.
  20. Seems like a reasonable punishment to me....I know I'd be hesistant to violate any of the regs after that if I were in their shoes. As for publicity, it's tough to preach the importance of such things to most.
  21. Those would be terns. Very cool birds. They love the great lakes.
  22. Can't believe they got the underwater shot. Awesome!
  23. Fantastic report. Those cutty's look like an absolute blast!
  24. Way overpriced, but I'm sure they'll make a killing off of it for many years to come. I'd love to try it.
  25. Definitely a coho. Easiest way to tell for me (aside from the green back) is the black tongue, but the rest of the mouth is usually white. Awesome fish btw!
