  1. I think the problem with taking a pic of a OOS fish is that it shows possession. Personally, I don't see the harm of snapping a pic (maybe leave the fish in the net?) Whatever you do, the important thing is to get it back into the water as quick as you can.
  2. U-Hauls rentals are notorious for being pulled over by the MTO and deemed 'not road worthy' I think CityTV did an article or segment on U-Haul a few years back. Took 9 trucks to a mechanic, 7 wouldn't pass the most basic safety check, 2 of them had minor problems
  3. I haven't been to Temagami since I was a little kid, so I don't have any tips for ya.
  4. Wayne terrifies all the fish out of the deep water into the shallows with his plane
  5. Let me know when you wanna test it out somewhere out in the Kawartha's this summer
  6. Excellent Wayne! Now I know what to ask for when I get there Thanks man.
  7. I was hoping to get some pre-made leaders to tell you the truth, I don't want to lose a nice fish because I suck at tying knots
  8. I think Lew knows all the newbs that have been bit by the muskie bug I need to drop by JB's and pick up some terminal tackle (leaders, snaps, etc etc) I am sure I won't be leaving without a few more lures, lol!!! Mike, I am in the same boat as you, just itching for the opener to play with all the new toys I've picked up. Although the oldman and I have a trip planned to the French River for the early muskie opener (First Sat in June). I will most likely just test out the muskie setup for pike next weekend out on Gbay.. I cannot wait for that first cast!!!
  9. Hey Mike, Picked it up online @ RadioWorld. $299. I should have picked it up at the SportsMan show, it was $20 cheaper ...
  10. I had to make an addition to my dad's 15" Legend, lol Picked up a Eagle Intellimap 500C along with the Navionics Gold+ Chip (Great Lakes + Maritimes). Dropped by his place yesterday and did the install. I also found whoever wired the rear of the boat, did it ass backwards. All this time he's been running his graph unfused (someone put the fuse on the negative side).. So now I get to re-wire everything and make it pretty. Oh yeah, if anyone is looking at picking up the Gold+ chip from BPS, I had them price match a place up in Huntsville (Georgian Marine) for $193(BPS is $229). Got a bit of a hassle from the eletronics guy, saying the Gold was a '08 chip.. I gave him the :what the heck: stare and said the last time this map was updated was '07. Here is the link to the price match. http://www.georgianmarine.com/securestore/c181598.2.html Oh yeah, to all the Team #5 members, get your sigs updated with the new banner!!!
  11. I've had a few people forget to turn their mic off after I've ordered. Most of the time it's nothing, but there have been a few off colour comments. I usually just yell back into the speaker "Hey smartass your MIC IS STILL ON!!!" Red faces and apologies are usually awaiting me at the window, lol BTW, Steeped Tea is done, their machine wasn't broken, Tim Horton's isn't carrying it anymore.
  12. Doesn't seem like it.
  13. Atlantic salmon in GBay?
  14. I think Dad has taken control of this :)
  15. Hoochies are those little fake squid that are usually run behind flashers
  16. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. Should have just shot them and buried the bodies. Hell, you even would have had a bird to bring home!
  18. I am pretty sure Clamp-it was being sarcastic
  19. I gotta admit, I'd fly in that thing.. With a parachute of course
  20. Mooses?
  21. I'll be hitting the French for the early muskie opener, lets hope all this $$$$ I've spent on a muskie setup gets a workout
  22. I just finished a big thick pork chop cooked on the BBQ, but man that burger looks goooooooooooooood
  23. Email sent.. This should be fun! (and hell, I am sure I'll learn something)
  24. My most memorable fish was probably the pike the my avatar... Spent 4 awesome days with my dad up on the French River last ThanksGiving. We hadn't been fishing much lately, but we both got bitten by the bug again. Just me and my dad in the crappy rainy weather, like we used to do all the time when I was a kid. Funny story about that pike.. We were fishing top water the entire 4 days for bass/pike (yes, topwater in the fall ). On a whim, I launched a Zara Spook junior across a little channel opposite of the shore we were fishing towards a little island. I didn't expect to get anything but the lure was about 10ft from the boat when the pike missed it the first time. I wasn't even paying attention (I was looking over at my dad talking) when the water just exploded.. My dad looked at me and said "Oh jesus @#$@#$ Bill!"... I quickly realed up and launched the lure back out.. Half way back to the boat she took it again. Ripped a 100yrds of line off in a matter of no time, I think my dad was more excited then I was.. We originally thought it was a muskie until we got it closer to the boat and noticed it was a monster pike. Big and fat from the fall feed, definitely my PB pike.. We got it in the net and we both started to freak out. Quickly got the hooks out, took a few pics and back she went. That just made the trip... This year we have quite a few trips planned, but even if we don't tie into any more monsters, it's the time we spend out on the boat together that is the best part of all of it.
  25. Agreed with what people have said here. Only thing besides your bass tackle that you'll need is a decent 6-7inch wire leader. Other then that, all your bass lures will work fine for pike (If you don't have a spinnerbait, get one )
