  1. It's to bad they'll never get that careless charge to stick....
  2. We need a week of warm weather for the pike to start acting like they should. Water is just to cold.
  3. Fish were tight lipped yesterday, water temp dropped 4 degree's from Saturday.. Had a follow from a big pike on the Severn River, but we couldn't rise her after that.
  4. One battery for the graphs/main motor.. Separate battery for the Minn Kota.
  5. Mike, I hate you I need to pick up some jointed Believers.. I am going to drop by JB's this week sometime and look for something a little shorter for a jerkbait/topwater rod. It's a good excuse to pick up another setup... I love the 8' for everything but jerks/topwater. For bucktails/cranks/swimbaits it makes tossing those big bait effortless.
  6. Rice is full of muskies, like most of the Kawartha lakes. Not giants per say, but they make up for it in numbers.
  7. Good job Mike! I cleaned my Citica lastnight on my parents dinner table Luckily there were no 'extra' parts when I was finished, lol
  8. Thanks Lew!! What kind of ratio are you running on the Abu Big Game reels?
  9. Appreciate the feedback guys.. Looks like I'll look into a second setup for topwater/jerkbaits... JB's here I come!
  10. Hey guys, Finally got my new muskie setup wet last week while trying for some early season pike. 8' Shimano Compre along with a Abu Garcia Record 60. I tossed a few jerkbaits/topwaters and noticed while standing on the casting deck that the rod is just to long. I like to have the rod vertical underneath me(or as close as possible) when using Suicks and WTD topwaters. With the 8' Compre while trying to WTD properly, I'd constantly have the top section of the rod in the water. Should I look into a smaller length rod for jerkbaits or perhaps make a change to my technique? WTD is second nature, I can make the bait swing 180 degrees with ease, but I just feel more comfortable with the rod closer to me, then sticking out towards the bait as I retrieve. Perhaps a few of the muskie guys can chime in? (Marc, lew, Roy?)
  11. I'll be throwing Magnum Zara Spooks and some TopRaiders for the early opener on the French I'm a complete muskie newb, but from what I've read in books and online, early in the season is the time to be throwing topwater.
  12. Oldman and I hit Severn river today.. 1 decent OOS Largemouth and 2 smaller pike. Windy as hell though, white caps on the river! (Which is rare)
  13. BPS priced matched a Navionics Gold map chip for me against a small marine shop in Huntsville. (Saved $40) Since when do they have an approved vendor list?
  14. hahahahaha!!!!!
  15. I'm still ticked about the last fishing flyer with the Citica/BPS combo right on the front cover. Go in expecting to pick one up, guess what.. Out of stock. I ask for a raincheck, and I'm told that it won't do be any good. If you are going to promote something on the FRONT PAGE OF YOUR FLYER, you should actually have them in stock. /end rant
  16. Wow, I live about 5 mins from that lake and have never been on it Looks like another place I need to check out.
  17. I'll be in the main channel for the June 7th muskie opener Also back in Sept/Oct.
  18. Gloucester Pool - Sat 12:01am
  19. GBay - 1 line per person, no boat max Huron - 2 lines per person no boat max. It's straightforward enough....
  20. That is a fat spring fish!!!
  21. Luckily for me my allergy isn't that bad, atleast to fish. Nuts on the other hand are deadly for me. I can handle the fish all I want, as long as I don't touch the raw flesh, I am good. I do get the odd hives if I get stuck with one of the fins
  22. I spend as much time out on the water fishing as I can, but I can't eat the fish... I'm allergic to them. Although Roy's thread with the bacon wrapped pickerel looks realllly good!
  23. Trial and error?
  24. I leave my fish ID on... It will tell me on which frequency the fish was picked up on (200khz, 83khz) Basically this boils down to the fish being right underneath the boat, or off to the sides.. We have a Humminbird 747c.
  25. I'm sure you could launch them out of a potato gun or something
