I was hoping to catch a brown this year while bow/brookie fishing but it never happened!!! Nice fish man, tomorrow is the last day to get out and lay a slaying on the brookies (I doubt I'll even be able to make it, have some car problems that need to be fixed)

Drive by a South Simcoe OPP at 15 over and see what happens I notice that it's really dependent on the area you are in. OPP doesn't bother anyone during the rush hour commute that's flowing with traffic and doing a buck 30... I usually hit the 80km/h side roads at 100 or 110, haven't been pulled over yet.

Your best bet is going to be ordering an older National Geographic/PBS or Nature episode... I am sure they sell their episodes on DVD.

Not really... You can have a 100MP camera, but if the lense and sensor are garbage, your picture is going to be garbage. I like Canon's... Any of the PowerShot series make for a great point and shoot.. They have great lenses and awesome digital sensors (Digic III and IV in newer models) They are consistently ranked at the top of the heap when it comes to point and shot. You really can't go wrong with the Powershot SD series... I currently own a Canon A630, it's a fullsize body and not top of the line by any means. 8MP, Digic II processor and a decent optical zoom.. I am pretty sure it's around the $200 range.

If the transfer case oil tends to burn up, replace the ATF with a synthetic 5w30....

Erik, I gotta agree with you, nothing beats a brookie for looks.. I was in the middle of a hatch lastnight but didn't have the right fly in my flybox. I ran back to the car to ditch the spinning gear and get the flyrod. No luck though... The flyrod is fun, but for a beginner it's awful depressing at times, lol

Some of the HotMaps have been known to be waaay off... I run the Navionics Gold map, it's been dead nuts on regardless of the body of water....

Well, I had to redeem myself so I went out tonight and caught a few more At least I got the camera figured out!! I did however miss a really big fish, took a swipe at my spinner so I got to see the entire fish... Twice as big as the pics below, lol Ah well... maybe next time!

All they have to do it look it up in the system under a different store number. It's funny you have to bring in a flyer!!!

Yeah, this fish looked a lot more rugged then even the brookies we pulled out of the Credit earlier this week. I would have to guess it has to do with the water and how dark it is up here (Atleast in the stretch of this certain creek) It was definitely a healthy fish, nice and fat. I've noticed a few (Like the one in the pic and one of the fatter ones Erik and I caught) that some have completely black eyes and others have a green/black eyes... Weird.

I didn't realize Lake Ontario had any coasters I am willing to bet any brookie seen is a resident, I've seen some big ones... easily over 15inches.

Mark, my dad and I recently tried drop shotting for the first time out on Go Home Lake a few weeks ago. It was quite fun, caught all kinds of fish!! I think I'll give those baits a try! I'll let you know how it works out BTW, would you recommend going with a bigger bait now that the fish are on the fall feedbag?

Think of it as fishing with a normal hook/sinker, but then reverse the two so that the sinker is on the bottom, and the hook is about a foot above it
