  1. Al, that is a great excuse. I'll make sure to use it next time I screw up a picture! It was completely on purpose! lol HD: Better then the last brookie I took a pic of.. None of the fish I caught today (3 nice ones, 2 smolts) had any of the black parasites that some of the previous fish I've caught had. I fished a different part of a certain river, and man was the water cold, and the holes deep!(Perfect brookie habitat) I gotta get me some fullsize waders so I can make it back before the 30th I filled my hip waders with water today, it sucked.
  2. I am sure he would, because it's a hell of a lot less then $160
  3. Next time you might wanna try something better then a C3 if you plan on burning bucktails all day Gotta pay to play.
  4. Dan, I should have used my head and looked at the settings before I took the pic, lol... Ah well, I still have a week before the season closes to give it another shot! Is there a Sept30 close up in TBay as well for trout? I'd still like to get my oldman up there for some brookies.
  5. If you are going to ask for a pricematch, you might wanna have something in print Why not print the FutureShop.ca mainpage off which shows the price. Did you expect Walmart to go online and look it up themselves? I'm not trying to be an ass, but I would have told you the same thing if someone asked me to pricematch something without a hardcopy.
  6. I love my Abu Record 60... The EXT is the replacement for the older Morrum series.. Those are smooooooth reels.. For a full size casting reel I don't think much comes close.
  7. I tell ya, I really need to calm down a bit when I get a nice fish Took my dad out for brookies today and the first culvert we tried, I nailed a nice one. This fish looked more like an arctic char(ala moosebunks latest trip) then a brookie...I know I know, it's in the char family... I couldn't believe the orange on this fish, it was almost fluorescent, it was so vivid, I just couldn't believe it. In my rush to take a pic and get the fish back into the water, I used a "Portrait" setting instead of "Auto". Unfortunately with the "Portrait" setting, there is a longer exposure.... so you guessed it, the pic of my prized brookie is blurry as hell I would assume these are spawning colours? Ah well, the look on my dads face was priceless when I took a pic of him with it before we released it. I guess I'll just have to go back and try to catch it again. Sorry for the horrible pic, but here it is anyhow.
  8. The lodge and the placement company should be shut down.. What a crock of poop this is.
  9. SNAG, I think they were about to gang up on you!!!
  10. Wow, those bows aren't in very good shape either(first set of pics) (except for the one on the top right) Other two are mangled.
  11. Erik, I was lucky to get that one fatty in, I swear I thought he was taking me into the logs. I also lucked out in the fact that I didn't end up in the drink (although it was close, lol) I am taking a day off tomorrow and taking the oldman up around the same area. Wanna get up there before the Sept 30th close.
  12. Erik, it was a pleasure to meet you, and even better that we got to spend a day fishing!! There was lots of driving, but Erik being the guy he is wanted to make sure I knew of all 'the holes'... If anyone has the chance to go fishing with Erik, make sure you take him up on it, standup guy for sure... We hit the Credit as Erik mentioned and I think if we would have spent a little more time there, we would have gotten into some bigger fish. We hit maybe 1 really good pool and 2 nice brookies and a few monster chubs came out of it. Back to the car and it was time to make the trek up Highway 10 to our undisclosed locations As Erik mentioned the Rocky Saugeen was really fast and lacked any holes (Atleast from what we could find).. This portion of the river was definitely a spring hot spot, but the warmer temps most likely made it unlikely to hold any decent brookies in the summer(Atleast at the spots we tried) find the deep deep holes, find the brookies. Unfortunately we didn't find any deep holes So we tried a few more things and they worked out quite well. I think we definitely spent more time in the car, then we did with our rods in our hands. For the small amount of time we were actually fishing I think we made out pretty well. Probably 10-12 brookies and dozens of chubs.. I gotta remember to keep a few of those for the annual fall French River trip. Here are some additional pics I took with my camera.
  13. Hey Erik, Once the lake 'turns over' you'll be able to catch fish on a topwater bite, even in the fall. My last trip to the French River with my dad, that's all we used... It was the 2nd week in October. We have the same thing planned for this year
  14. 50lb is even light if you are chasing muskies... 80-100lb PPro and 130lb Flouro leaders are a must. All that timing fishing only to break off when a fish is hooked? No thanks!
  15. Rich, great report! To bad the fishing didn't turn out to well. What were the water temps? Stll up in the 70's?
  16. I saw them when they were one of the first concerts at the Skydome.. For Those About to Rock.... just wait you'll lose your mind
  17. maps.google.com mapquest.com
  18. Bridge by Klondike park?
  19. I don't think people realize how big a 6lb bass is... A lake with an AVERAGE size of 6lbs? In Ontario? Riiiiight... So what's a big fish, 10lbs? lol
  20. Right now? Grab 10K and buy some NYSE:MS(Morgan Stanley) stock. I've dropped in 10K as of this morning, and the stock has gone up $13 per share by market close.. Look at the previous year, there is no way MS is going to tank like some of the financials have... They had increased 3rd quarter earnings... Once John Mack held his webcast, and replied to all the nay sayers, the stock went up and up and up Hold it until Jan of next year and see where you are.. I am willing to bet you'll see a HUGE return...
  21. It's a project people :)
  22. I couldn't imagine eating a fish out of a lake that when I was young my parents forbid me to even step foot in
  23. I hope we add to those memorable pics this weekend! That brown is a fatty!
  24. I fished a small portion of the Mad river just outside Glencairn last week and also picked up a pike.. Last thing I was expecting for sure.
  25. Nothing beats a day out on the water with your dad, nothing at all.
