  1. Nice rig there Frank Good luck in gettin her slimy
  2. Yeah I see it's part of Bronte I guess for years we just referred to it as Carlisle Creek---think that's what the locals called it back then
  3. I'll help ya here bud Carlisle is not Bronte Creek Loweville is in Loweville---up Guelph Line--north of Burlington----not sure about access anymore----many meatheads later--has shut down many access fishing spots along that creek Credit may have some spots yet I have'nt tripped that area for some years now
  4. Really---beginning of Sept.----to pull this band-aid off.... one so slowly hair at a time just to miss the playoffs once again Name the Additions that will make a diff this year from last same goaltending----one new defenceman who's not the difference maker.......same coach---smallish fwds Definition of insanity-----doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Good Luck
  5. This is the end result of a huge area...Toronto Absorbing a nearby area which was traditionally a smaller town feel--gateway to cottage country etc----Barrie is now a bdrm community for the big smoke....Yes? You now have Big city thinking and all it's micro-managing job justification goin down...3 legged dogs must only be walked on tuesdays on the left side of the path I'm sure any dollar amt will keep the destroyers out---but You do make a point---why single out anglers? Maybe history has not shown our group to be the neatest I recall Trout opener in the Meaford/Thornbury corridor in the 70's---creeks and rivers were a mess----I remember at Bronte one year----somebody lighting a 50ft pine tree on fire---the whole tree---quite a sight----broken fences.....fistfights----picinic tables thrown into the water...etc etc At the end of the day---we know we are responsible for our river footprint-------many still don't care---and you are paying for them.
  6. I went 2 x6---that was factory size from EZ Loader I also went PT covered in Carpet---had no issues Yes Cedar and Knots at times will make a nice place to crack---You may have to go thru the pile to find a couple without knots---is possible tho
  7. I know guys that lay checkerplate aluminum---clean easy and they love it---lighter
  8. Did you happen to tell him ya voted liberal in the last election??
  9. I've dealt with this for some years now Seen the coons the other night---I know skunks do this as well
  10. This time of year we are having the same issue It is skunks and coons digging for grubs
  11. This is exactly why I bought my Escape---4wd---3500 tow cap---and a literal fraction of my old fuel consumption (Note all models are all Not made this way) the money you save on the ticket price---get a utility trailer for load hauling It's also a more comfortable ride than my pu A convo I had at a Ford dealer (after I purchased my escape and not where I bought it)----indicated the escape sales are rivaling the f150 (which is substantial) Higher fuel costs I suspect driving that Honestly tho----you will lose a bit of clearance underneath---been down some rocky bushroads already with no issue however just another Idea??
  12. I truly cannot believe the written diarrhea that is displayed here. All the years I've been here I've never asked a thread to be destroyed---this qualifies Today I'm truly embarrassed to be an OFC member I've got to go before I tell some long time members what an ass they really are
  13. Yep---survey says----2x the amount of casting for 1/2 the fish Always remember one constant tho----these fish STILL have to eat----they're likely just doin it elsewhere They cannot go forever on no grub
  14. I was going to stay away from this as everyone has a diff opinion when it comes to vehicles Anyway....this is what I ended up doing My 4 door f150 is gone---it was a great truck but as everyone knows----at $1.30---your looking at $170 to fill from empty I had 3 criteria on my search....4wd...tow a boat....good gas mileage Now I had a truck but I ran around with the box empty 363 days of the year Many small suv's don't have the tow capacity but can get the other 2 criteria So This is what I got-----ford escape---2 litre eco-boost---3500 lb towing capacity---4wd------great on gas I have a utility trailer if I need a dump/lumber yard run (smartest thing I ever bought) An Ottawa run would cost me 100 dollars round trip------now just did one for 40

  18. Dave---You can buy a needle to thread a snell thru the minnow---needle has a hook---loop on snell---pull thru and usually leaves a double hook out backside of minnow for trollin Ya don't want to just lip hook a minnow and hope it stays on
