  2. That was my story the last time Andrew took me out. We went 2/2 that day in the short outing! A day I will never forget!
  3. Way to go! Awesome Job!
  4. This year definitely worst than last year especially for shore fishing. I was at rock point PP a few weeks ago and I may have and lots of dead fish washed up on the beach. Same report I got from my friends who camped at turkey point. Lots of dead fish.
  5. Visited Lake belwood a couple of days to take the kids trout fishing in the trout ponds. Was told the main lake had toxic blue and green algae growing. Fish are not safe for eating. Is this the issue with most smaller lakes?
  6. that is a lot of tomatoes!! sounds like a fun and busy day!
  7. I wouldnt remove it. Just replace it!
  8. Thanks for the replies and private messages. I walked into CAA today and liked the quote I got and purchased it. Hopefully I will not need to use it (knock on wood)
  9. the wife and I will be travelling abroad for a few weeks and want your folks recommendation on good travel insurance for our trip. We are in our 30s and no pre-existing conditions. Want to deal with a company that wont give us a run around. I don't mind paying a little extra as long as customer service is good and will take care of us. So far spoke to RBC and will speak with CAA since I am a member. got a quote on kanetix.ca but not sure if those companies are any good. Thanks
  10. Thanks guys. That should keep me busy for a few hours
  11. Will be heading out to turkey point to visit some friends camping at the provincial park. While the kids and wife are chilling with friends, I plan to sneak away and do some fishing with the guys, however I have no idea on the area or whether there is a possibility of fishing from shore. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
  12. I have a question somewhat related to this thread. Is the bass bite better in the day compared to night? My buddy tells me that unless you put the bait in front of their face at night, they will not go for it, however the biggest bass I caught was at night off the pier using live bait.
  13. pikeslayer, I too wear the shalwar kameez from time to time due to my background being from India. it's definitely good for protection from the sun and good ventilation. Probably the reason why they wear them in those countries in that kind of heat. Undoubtedly very comfortable and you can do splits with the shalwars on lol. I think the key is to have as much cotton to keep cool and lighter color clothes. My wife has also started to push me at being more careful out in the sun and I have started using sunscreen this year. I will also be trying long sleeve shirts which will be a first for me If you need a couple of more pairs of shalwar kameez, shoot me a pm. I have a few new ones you can have .
  14. Very nice park and friendly staff from my brief stop there for a washroom break lol. I have heard good things about Agawa bay but never been there. Best person to give you info on the area is Tyler Dunn. great guy with tons of knowledge of the area. http://www.tylerdunnguiding.ca/
  15. Nice fish! sounds like a day the Arizonian will remember for a long time! I know I sure havent forgotten the last time I got to go out on the big lake!
  16. I was looking for bass so I had a senko on at first but it didnt seem interested nor spooked by it. I tried spoons, husky jerk, kwikfish, gulp minnow and probably some other stuff lol. it did look at it then just turned around and swam away.
  17. that makes sense. I always hear of fish like salmon and trout go deep when the sun is up, so I was surprised to see it sitting in the shallow. It did wander off and come back a few times so I though it may be waiting for something more tasty
  18. The only time you would cause any damage is probably if you were to run different sizes or tread patterns. If they are all the same size and tread pattern, you should be good.
  19. I agree for winters they should be fine for winter use. I would just try to avoid potholes
  20. Before heading out to work today which was around noon, I decided to do a little shore fishing on Lake O. Water was calm and clear. The usual carp and bass swimming around but then I notice what looks like a rainbow or salmon in about 6 feet of water and 10 feet away from the edge of the water. Mind you the sun was beating down hard at that time (35 degrees) and it seemed to be the only fish of its kind. it pretty much just swam in the vicinity for the whole 90 mins I was there. So why is it hanging out there in the middle of the day? looking for food? If so, what can I use as bait? What lures should I try? Last year in the same area, I saw another one which I am 99 percent sure was a rainbow which was hanging out in the same conditions.
  21. Nice fish! The lake looks very calm in the second photo for there to be 30 kph winds later in the day!
  22. So looks like we will check out Silent Lake PP since I have heard great things about it as well as the Mineral Museum. Not Sure we will have time for anything else. Thanks for everyone's suggestions!
  23. Head out to the pier last night after midnight. Lots swimming in the waters but no takers in the hour I was there. Gotta get some live bait!
  24. Thanks for everyones input. I am sure I cannot see everything listed here, but will see what is best for the family and plans. Thanks Again!
