  1. so inherently what you are implying is that theres lots of "essential businesses that shouldnt be open" but the guy that has to hang out and monitor the boat ramp to save the idiots from themselves and from everyone else, while also sanitizing the boat ramp machine is essential? If you need to get the boat out...there are many ways to do so without using a public launch. The great lakes are very very large and have plenty of shoreline that one could manage to launch a boat in if he absolutely had to. But telling everyone that the launch in barrie is open guarantees a total crap show.
  2. already been said multiple times...Im certain that I could go to the ramp launch my boat and maintain distance, but judging by my experience at the grocery store this week, 1 out of probably every 10 people is completely hopeless. Go and look at the ground at your local grocery store parking lot. The amount of used gloves laying around on the ground for the cart kids to pick up and expose themself too is exactly why they need to close public ramps. Hence, one bad apple or in this case many bad apples amognst the bunch spoils the bunch!
  3. wouldnt have mattered buddy, if it wasnt I would have bought it all out 😆
  4. FYI guys, a lot fuel docks are also closed. I know in pointe au baril none of the marinas are operational. If you are going to go boating, ensure you have sufficient fuel!
  5. if you go fishing with anyone it better be someone you live with. I also agree, if we want to go fishing alone or with a family I should be able to, but do not start hanging out with friends on your boat. Thats teh exact kind of behaviour that is going to ensure that we all dont get to get back to normal any time soon. I have a buddy that had "1 friend over" last week...his mom works in a nursing home and his buddy is a moron who doesnt think this whole thing is real. When you hear it like that you realize how friggin insane the "oh its just 1 person" logic is. That 1 poker game could end up killing 9 people like it did in Bobcaygeon.
  6. free shipping over $49 lord knows i blow past that barrier in seconds lol
  7. the one thing that probably saved me is that their website isnt that great for managing stock levels or selecting colours. They dont provide the proper names for anything's colours so it can be difficult to get exactly what you want. It took me cycling through their senko colours and attempting to order various amounts before i would hit the sweet spot and find things that actually would go into my cart because they were in stock lol. if they were anything like tacklewarehouse I would have spent far more lol.
  8. Daves worked his ass off to get some quality sponsorship deals me thinks. Ridiculous rig dave...my god what I would give to own that! Im a skeeter yamaha guy, and you are a garmin man...dream rig right there. Dave please tell me you were considering the FXR for 2021????😲 ive yet to see one in person but oh my god...i saw a picture of an all black one and i nearly fainted...a real life dream boat. Some day I will get my hands on a used one, i think its the best looking bass boat I have ever seen in my life. Maybe I will buy it from you If i won the lottery tomorrow Id call Chris Zaldain and tell him to sell me his boat cash up front lol
  9. 20% off this morning free shipping over $50. Couldnt resist...grabbed the last of a couple of good colour yamasenkos for $8 a pack. Megabass stuff has been ravaged but i managed to get a sonic side for less than $20 thats basically 40% off tacklewarehouse price. Bought some keitechs and a couple of reel covers! with our dollar being so low, its actually a crazy good deal on the high end stuff. Their stores are all closed so they are obviously trying to flood as much cash flow via online sales as they possibly can to keep the business floating
  10. What old said, I forgot about that. I wire loomed everything As well. Not only does it probably help with interference, it also cleans up the 6 wires you’ve got running all over the place for your three units.
  11. i run a 24v terrova with ipilot
  12. 6 might be a bit overkill just for units. my battery is up north I will have to get back to you about it’s cca theres actually a diagram somewhere about how to coil excess transducer cable to reduce interference. I remember it in my Humminbird manual.
  13. I just rewired my entire boat last year Use quality marine wire. and over gauge your wire. There are a lot of charts online that will assist you with determining the appropriate guage of wire dependent on the length of your boat/runs you will be making. Not sure what kind of boat you are running, ideal is a dedicated battery for your electronics, however in my case and a lot of peoples, I dont have the space for another battery so I have to run mine off of my starter. Some guys swear by running straight to the battery, personally Im putting the protection of a fuse on my thousands of dollars worth of graphs. Have one fuse box dedicated to your graphs. I personally am running a Blue Sea box https://www.amazon.ca/Blue-Sea-Systems-Blade-Block/dp/B001P6FTHC Run one heavy line to the box and then straight lines to each graph. As mentioned do not run excess cable that requires you to loop and tape anything. Run your cable runs to the length needed. Also dont use merets or crimp anything together. Solder with shrink tube to make a super clean and more importantly waterproof connection. When i pulled the old wiring out of my boat the previous owner just used crimps for everything and the level of corrosion on the existing wiring was surprising to say the least! The boat was stored inside and rarely used! You wont power down your units if your starting battery is strong, the draw on the units is quite low when not being actively used. I guess if your system is really high end and you are running multiple 12+inch screens etc etc you may run into an issue but Im running two helix 7's and a 9 and turning over a magnetoed carburated engine and have no problems at all. I did start cutting my screens when my 11 year old battery was starting to die. But aside from that I have never had an issue.
  14. anyone have any idea how much fluid the trim typically takes. Due to the outbreak Yamaha has closed and I am unable to get all of my parts. Im considering just trying to top up the fluid and run it like that until I can get the parts.
  15. happy birthday! all the best!
  16. so sad that my boards are at my buddies place
  17. those kinda boats? If you park it...they will come
  18. still have my full tank in the boat from storage too. When July hits and this thing passes prices will spike higher than ever for sure because transportation and the backlog of people wanting to go places is going to spike demand.
  19. i need to get me some of those ice cleats. i follow you around social media so i think ive seen these fish? Very nice!
  20. just bought 175 litres of ethanol free shell V power Nitro yesterday! 98 cents a litre
  21. Johnny on the farmers almanac Most scientific analyses of the accuracy of Farmers' Almanac forecasts have shown a 50% rate of accuracy,[1][2] no greater than random chance Doug Gilhelm is the head meteorologist at the weather network. He releases seasonal outlooks based on global weather patterns using a mathematical scientific approach. Most observation is done by simply looking at ocean temperatures and the expected jet stream variations that accompany those ocean current and wind patterns. His prediction for the winter was pretty close to spot on although he figured it would be colder than it was. He nailed the precipitation forecast though. A wild winter, southern Ontario surprisingly had one of the wettest winters we have ever had! Even more strange and unbelievable and this will throw a lot of folks for a loop, it was actually one of the snowiest...i know right? snow? where?? I talked to Doug and what threw us all for a loop is that the consistent pattern was that every time we got snow it immediately warmed up and melted it all therefore making it feel like we never had much snow. We also got a very significant amount of rain over the course of the winter. You may remember the one storm where Toronto got close to 70mm of rain. Thats almost record breaking. The pattern difference between for example parry sound and a place like Barrie was also extremely different. That ended up being the battle ground between the warm air to the south and the cold air to the north. That meant that many of those rain storms were a mix of snow and rain rather than the traditional snow we normally get. What was most notable was the simple lack of lake effect snow this year due to warmer than normal temperatures everyone experienced. It really cut down on the snow totals in the traditional snowbelt areas. What annoyed most of us was how bloody cold the fall was vs December and January. My lake actually totally iced over in November with almost 3 inches of ice, and then cleared, and then re-iced over again. That was strange to say the least and sure did a hell of a number on our docks and boat house. Ive got plenty of work to do once the lake opens up again.
  22. i second the simple spray bottle filled with hydrogen peroxide will do the job in a pinch. Its rough on your skin but at this point theres no hand sanitizer available anywhere.
  23. i just hit that ugly season up at my place that the ice is no longer safe enough to get where i need to go to fish...last week was good...really good though. Now i patiently wait.
  24. meh...4 year ban from fishing in canada and the idiot is an american that has been caught before...slap on the wrist once again.
  25. if only 20 litre gas cans were $10... still trying to find some drums!
