Motor, all of my electronics plus my livewells on tournament days. Theres really no such thing as a "dual purpose" AGM as they are basically implied as dual purpose when you buy a marine AGM, at least from what I can see so far? Ive been looking at the specs on the batteries and surprisingly the Canadian Tire battery has the same specs as the interstate. 1000MCA and 800 CCA with a comparable reserve capacity. I worry about longevity with the Canadian Tire batteries though.

Hey Guys, My interstate standard lead acid battery is due for replacement. Its 11 years old if you can believe it. Very impressed. But before I go and drop close to $500 on a new AGM id like to hear you guys out on your opinion for the best batteries? I think ive made the decision to switch to AGM this time around because its become obvious that riding my small bassboat on the great lakes is causing too much spilling. Its noticeable every year when I go to fill them in the spring with some new water. Ive also been intrigued by the Nautilus Ultra XD Group 24 AGM, however I am seeing conflicting information on their website about the warranty on the battery. It says 3 years in the description and then 4 in the warranty section. Also ive read some bad reviews, but they seem to all be from 8+ years ago. My most recent visit to crappy can, it seems like they have re-branded their batteries. I look at an optima, however word is that their manufacturing changed as has their warranty recently. Seems like the company changed hands and quality has declined significantly. I personally had this experience with their red tops dying in my car after 2 years...but that was 10+ years ago. Maybe things have gotten better. Ive looked at Odysee, I dont know anything about them, but they seem legit. The challenge im having with them is finding where the heck to buy them? and finally Im heavily leaning to going with an interstate 34m-AGM but what are you guys running? I havent bought a marine battery in my entire life aside from the costco lead acid deep cycles. But im totally open and all ears. Im not very concerned with pricing if Im assured that the battery is going to last 10 years. I baby my batteries, and my boat goes right back on the charger every time i dock it. So they should last fairly long. Most "reviews" on line seem to be paid for by the respective manufacturer. So id rather ask a bunch of guys that actually run batteries to give me their 2 cents. Let me know what you guys think! **Side note** I wish I could afford to go lithium, but reading up on it, going lithium would also require a new charger for the boat as well. Maybe some day.

took mine out of storage over the weekend. Found that a mouse had made residence in the compartment beneath my seats. Put the dust mask and gloves on and proceeded to deep clean the entire boat. lil bugger decided to chew a section of one of my docking ropes. Clearly couldn’t get the material he needed from it as it was too interwoven, but still ruined it. put the batteries back in and hooked everything back up. then I started to fix a problem with my livewell from last season but noticed something strange was going on when I had no power anywhere? Turns out my main AC power switch was intermittently now failing. Replaced that then went back to the livewell and of course after pulling every single fuse out of the block, the last fuse I checked was the livewell fuse. Turns out one of my connectors was crap and had fallen of and shorted itself out. boats nearly ready, just need to get my seals for the ram’s and get the engine running. Also took all of my tackle out of storage and back into the boat

After watching the Johnston blow up their evinrudes 5 times in one BASS season I wonder if that will literally be the end of them. fished an all black triton down in South Carolina, they get a bit warm, but damn do they look incredible. I’d burn my feet for it lol. you kayakers are a different breed I tell ya! IMHO the most important way a bass boat outperforms any other boat every time is the front deck. Nothing simply can compete with fishing off of the front deck of a bass boat regardless of the brand

Meh, I’ve never been a purist. I’m a friggin bass fisherman lol. its good enough that I know how to double haul and roll cast (although poorly) lol ive got floats but I’m certain that my presentation is totally wrong when fishing submerged flies under it. My fly selection is probably wrong and my cast location in relation to the water is also probably incorrect. the one helpful thing in all of this is I’ve devoted 100% of my dock fishing at the lake to fly fishing so it gives me lots of opportunity to practice casting but without the boring of doing it without any opportunity to catch fish. Pike sure friggin like white streamers!

Lol the “essential list” is basically bogus FYI...it’s Inherently designed to simply stop store front operations aside from grocery stores. Aside from that nothing else closes. My brother literally works at a board game distribution company and they Are considered to be an essential service because they are involved in “manufacturing and distribution” insane right?

honestly...when you go to that extent, how is there no jail time? Fraud, falsifying documents, hiding and destroying evidence...all for significant monetary gain. Thats gotta be jail time.

Too much of fly fishing content is from guys in mountains that have big roaring rivers with a kilometer of space to false cast. Or even worse..spey lol Definitely nowhere near as much content of guys fishing steel in densely forested creeks. Some of the indicator stuff is useful, but at the same time I need someone to watch what the heck I am doing and tell me whether what I am doing is right or not lol. Then youve got guys that swing streamers for salmon and I think I know how to do it, but ive never had any luck at all doing it so I must be doing something totally wrong. The only way Ive caught salmon is nymphing roe patterns. Lets face it I suck and i need help lol!

Whole can of worms, but if the cottagers are anything like the crowd up in muskoka or pointe au baril that pay to have, their boats put in and out, their docks taken in and out, the cottage winterized and opened, cleaned, fixed etc etc then absolutely friggin not. if people are at a property by themselves and taking care of themselves how could you ever say they don’t belong there? I came up north today, packed groceries from the city and have fuel that I purchased weeks ago. I literally won’t see another human while I’m here unless a boat goes by

dude, i need to go fly fishing with you one day. I have quite literally never fly fished with anyone that knows what the hell they are doing, ive had to learn everything entirely on my own and I know that I am 100% missing a lot of the puzzle pieces when it comes to fly selection and presenting submerged flies in rivers. These are unreal by the way.

I did I bought all new caps and seals but am still waiting for them to arrive. In the interim I’m considering just filling up the reservoir as a temporary fix until parts arrive. My assumption is that the leak won’t be as bad because it’s warmer than when I put my boat away in the fall. I’ve got a wrench off of amazon that I will need to slightly grind down in order to fit around the ram. The arms are slightly too thick and don’t allow for fitment. I’m going to grind the arms down, the pins at least fit perfectly so that’s lucky. im going to try and follow your instructions on how to fill the reservoir. my plan is to park the boat on a hill with the nose down, chalk the heck out of the wheels and then drop the tongue on the ground to get the nose aimed way down hill. if I am understanding correctly, I should then fill the reservoir as full as I can, then manually lift the motor up and then down again and then let it sit and repeat this process until I can’t fill any additional fluid into the reservoir.

the bass boat central forums are full of stories from where the air is warmer and the boats are out in droves. Guys saying last weekend on lake of the ozarks was like the 4th of July...Thats why the ramps are closed. Party boats, people tying boats together, people congregating and swimming in the same areas. Once again, if you actually want to go fishing that bad...you easily can, you just might not be able to fish out of the launch at heritage park in barrie or crystal beach on simcoe is all.

so inherently what you are implying is that theres lots of "essential businesses that shouldnt be open" but the guy that has to hang out and monitor the boat ramp to save the idiots from themselves and from everyone else, while also sanitizing the boat ramp machine is essential? If you need to get the boat out...there are many ways to do so without using a public launch. The great lakes are very very large and have plenty of shoreline that one could manage to launch a boat in if he absolutely had to. But telling everyone that the launch in barrie is open guarantees a total crap show.

already been said multiple times...Im certain that I could go to the ramp launch my boat and maintain distance, but judging by my experience at the grocery store this week, 1 out of probably every 10 people is completely hopeless. Go and look at the ground at your local grocery store parking lot. The amount of used gloves laying around on the ground for the cart kids to pick up and expose themself too is exactly why they need to close public ramps. Hence, one bad apple or in this case many bad apples amognst the bunch spoils the bunch!

FYI guys, a lot fuel docks are also closed. I know in pointe au baril none of the marinas are operational. If you are going to go boating, ensure you have sufficient fuel!

if you go fishing with anyone it better be someone you live with. I also agree, if we want to go fishing alone or with a family I should be able to, but do not start hanging out with friends on your boat. Thats teh exact kind of behaviour that is going to ensure that we all dont get to get back to normal any time soon. I have a buddy that had "1 friend over" last week...his mom works in a nursing home and his buddy is a moron who doesnt think this whole thing is real. When you hear it like that you realize how friggin insane the "oh its just 1 person" logic is. That 1 poker game could end up killing 9 people like it did in Bobcaygeon.
