  1. how long are you running your leads?
  2. seems like a bit of an extreme heist for such an old boat...something is off about this.
  3. I would try bombing a rattling rap out as far as possible, letting it sink right to the bottom and then rip it along the bottom.
  4. empty pockets and minds full of hope lol
  5. choose your size according to the weight that you are pulling. I think the xxs is rated to 20lbs (correct me if im wrong) so far in 2 years of using them on almost every single rod and line I am tossing, i have broken 1.
  6. so are you addicted now?
  7. i find it hard to believe that you could have trouble catching bass on any of the kawartha lakes. but maybe ive just fished with people that know the water. I know on buckhorn/pigeon...50+ fish days is the norm.
  8. check the charts for areas with edges and possible current...deep weeds are your friend. the deeper the weeds the better.
  9. Bill put me on these, and ive never looked back. So important to run swivels when casting anything twisty...i.e. almost anything. Definitely love the double Uni though!
  10. ice fish with my dad for a day and you will see the techniques they used in the 60's lol happy to say ive learned them though, just for the laughs I am sure to show my kids some day... Im sure some of the old timers on here know about using thin twigs with a bell as a tip up.
  11. this is the dream
  12. hahaha oh just a 16 wt, no big deal ahahhaa
  13. basically want a 1000 wt rod ahaha this is sweet
  14. ive literally had to stop fishing until the gull gave up and went away. the zara super spook jr is by far my fave lure of all time, i fish it literally 40+% of my time fishing. dont let the secret out about these lures though, i wouldnt want anyone to catch so many fish.
  15. remember we still have 3 more years in this plan before the team even hopes to be competitive. This guy is signed for 5 years...meaning he is in for the long haul. I dont expect him to be great this season while this team continutes to mold. But 3 years from now when the likes of marner, nylander and now matthews have learned to play at the NHL level, you are looking at a team that can play both ends of the rink and provide some protection. Most important part here is that the leafs just signed a starting goalie, and no one really has anything negative to say about it..No one is calling him the second coming of jesus either so there is no pressure at all on him. since when does that happen in toronto?
  16. this exactly...it took me a few missed fish before i figured this one out lol
  17. thanks for the report. gotta love spending time outdoors with the people you care about. Thats all that matters in the end.
  18. when you see a fish swimming by your dock thats easily 4 and a half feet long and as wide as a person, in Pointe au Baril...i believe this 100%. These fish eat the 5lb fish I catch, i guarantee it. TJAMES I very very very highly recommend you PM fisherpete...he will guide you for a musky day in the kawarthas at a fantastic price. He will show you all of the ropes, he will put you on big fish and hes one of the nicest guys I have ever met in my life to boot so spending a day in the boat with him is a great time. I couldn't provide you with a higher recommendation.
  19. ya it will handle the fish somewhat, but any serious fight with a 40+ inch musky on that rod is putting you at serious risk of killing the fish. Trust me, the last musky i caught took half an hour to revive after a fight with all the right gear. dont half ass it, even if you think you can get by, ya sure you will catch some but you will kill too many.
  20. only decide to fish musky if you are ready to make the investment...unfortunately i made the investment last year and then moved to BC and now i dont fish musky anymore... its not cheap. Heavy rods and big reels are a must...you are looking at around 300 bucks for the rod and reel. Then you need a proper net...bolt cutters or good side cutters and jaw spreaders. Baits start at 15 a piece and up. Spool of 80lb+ braid and a 100lb fluro leader. Thats your shopping list, dont even bother starting until you have all of the above.
  21. Thanks for making me feel better about myself. I tossed big hardware all day saturday looking for some 40+ class fish and came up empty handed...not even a small one. bass opener cant come soon enough!
  22. bring worms...the kids will have more fun catchin sunnys and gills all day than catching 22 inch walleye
  23. would anyone here dare to eat one of these things? i feel like it would be like eating a seagull...but maybe not? maybe itd taste pretty good like a duck or a goose.
  24. the NBA always trying to write a story...what a joke
  25. Back to Ontario today!
