  1. Yup low gas prices are going to hurt us! http://www.cbc.ca/m/news/topstories/oil-price-at-85-costing-provinces-and-economy-billions-1.2795062 Seems our government could care less. They wAnt the $$$$& G
  2. I hear yah... I rarely depend on the weatherman any more, as all the sites have for the most part different predictions. I like you, can have a look at the water before heading out, the brighton launch is 500' from my front door. but that's not to say conditions are not different out on the main lake. If they are we stick to the bay, or launch outta wellers ect. 10 minutes in either direction can bring very different water conditions, depending on the water being fished. Welcome to quinte. G
  3. Should be a good one! New baby, my oldest boy, family, friends... Pumpkin picking, corn mazes and candy apples. Looking forward to this time together. I have a lot to be thankful for. G
  4. This is a kid from the small town I live in. I have met his parents. Comes from a good home. I am not defending his actions ( they were not wise) but to wish him death is uncalled for. He was out on his atv not driving the 401... Guess you never did anything foolish eh? Your around the same age as this young man. G.
  5. Wow that's uncalled for. Guess you never did anything stupid as a youngster. Sheesh G

  8. Yup, way south down here in brighton. Here the news article http://m.northumberlandnews.com/news-story/4862763-moose-spotted-in-northumberland-drivers-cautioned/ G
  9. Being dutch I grew up with all roasts being cooked on the stove in butter (we call it gravy) get the butter liquified place on low insert roast. Add a couple Clove spikes to the roast to enhance the "gravy" I promise you the best stove top roast you have ever had... Cook the roast on low till it has a bit of a "bark" the outside it a bit dark.... This is traditional dutch cooking, and you use the beef, Clove infused butter (now clarified) on top of mashed potatoes, veg, or save it for future cooks... Be sure to keep the brown stuff at the bottom of the pot.... Flavour country!!! Pm me if you need further details on how to make this. G
  10. Newf, where do you buy your peanut oil from in large quantities? (More then 1ltr bottles) G
  11. Agreed, hard to take someone serious when it is filled with "cuz, like, 2" it also makes it difficult to read. Imagine though, this is the reality of our legacy... Kids that can no longer write or read cursive... Why? Because schools no longer teach it. Long gone is the hand written letter... I fear we are doomed. As for the young man creditmaster... Thank you for letting us know about a deal to be had. Not all of are interested to be honest... It is fine to have an opinion. But as opinions are in them selves your own. But as suggested, please try and use proper spelling and grammar, makes it easier of us old guys to read..... Crap I am only 38!!! I wish you all the best young man, G
  12. Dryer just went on the fritz today. It is a kenmore elite. Less then 5 years old... It just began to make a squeezing noise and died, sounds like the motor was revving up and down / the drum was speeding up and slowing down. I should add it has all digital controls and the controls are in working order. Can anyone one recommend a kenmore technician in the belleville Trenton area? I'm going to tear the back off it now to see if I can locate something obvious. Thanks in advance, G
  13. Lew my thoughts are with you and your lovely wife. Positive attitude goes a long way, seems the both of you have this in spades! I am up in the peterbourgh area often (havelock) and if there is anything you need a hand with, just say the word. G
  14. Weird... I had no troubles at the two locations close to me.. I would have asked for the district managers phone number. I bet that would have gotten results quickly. G

  16. Fish n chips in the smaller pot, corn roast for when company comes over using the strainer, I will do a turkey for the holidays (but SWMBO dislikes turkey) Stack two chickens and do them for when family comes over. Homemade chicken fingers and fries A pile of chicken wings! So many plans! I kinda like the safety feature of the timer in case of distraction. Better to relit then burn 100 bucks worth of food and oil G
  17. Thanks B, found something cheaper but am not sure on the shipping charge yet... Says it's perfect for turkey fryers with a 450 smoke point. http://www.webstaurantstore.com/peanut-oil-blend-35-case/101PNUTOIL1.html Something to compare too anyways.... 35lbs=4.5 gallons approx G
