I rarely read all the posts in discussions like these....but this one has been good. My first thought was that the tail wasn't perfectly square, but I didn't think that would make a difference, and figured brookie right off the bat. I guess the only thing to do with specks/splake is to keep your limit so you can mail their stomachs to Dr. Salvelinus for proper id , and not take pics of the ones you release!
Nicely done -- another snowmobiler with fish....seems to be the theme for Simcoe this year. I have an aluminum towbar and no sled....wanna trade it for a ride on the back next time you go out?
Amazing....Simcoe really seems to have turned on lately....at least for the guys who are getting out some distance. Question for you about the x67c...do you use and ice-ducer or just your summer one?
1) Have been with Irishfield, Terry, DanO, Lloyd....
2) Could see myself fishing with Solopaddler and BillM, Limeyangler (it could happen buddy!), Weedline & MSP (you know you wanna)
3) DREAM of fishing with Moosebunk, Drifter_16
The first time I fished with guys I met on the 'net, I took my girlfriend with me. Showed up on time....they were all ready to go, snowmobiles and atv's running. I had only told them I was bringing a "friend".....didn't mention my friend was a 5'2" blonde with big blue eyes Once they saw us, the guy with the atv...think his name was Terry... ....he just grabbed her and threw her on the back of his quad and away they went through the slush! I held on to the back of a snowmobile
and didn't see her until half an hour later in the middle of lake Temagami.
I did have time to wonder to myself what I'd gotten us into.....but all went well and yeah, I'd do it again
Tedley's link worked for me....good resource outlining current restrictions plus some proposed ones. The fishing regulations are clear about what can be used as LIVE bait....but so far I can't find anything saying dead bait is not allowed.
Edit: Upon closer inspection, Tedley's link is dated Feb. 2006....so not everything in there may be accurate today
