  1. Not too shabby at all sir!
  2. If you were between Playfair and Birch Islands, my guess is that you were parking at the CNIB camp....just wondering if you have been there a lot this year? I've heard of people's cars getting ticketed/towed from there the last couple of years, and have been reluctant to park there myself.
  3. FINALLY some pics from you, Manitou! Man oh man you don't disappoint....what an amazing part of the province you live in....so nice to be able to enjoy it with your family too!
  4. It's a tip that's been around for a long time....I first came across it in one of Bob Izumi's books...he mentioned lukewarm water, not too hot. The idea is to take the memory out of the line, as the diameter of the spool it's packaged on is likely different than that of your reel. Of course it's going to conform to your reel eventually....if the line has sat for some time, you can always pop the spool off and soak it before you head out.
  5. Try calling the local MNR office, vinnimon...the Parry Sound office probably covers that area....ask to talk to one of the biologists, and you may end up with some useful info. They don't necessarily know all the lakes inside and out...but I've found it's usually worth a call.
  6. Nice play, capitalizing on the $10 gift card
  7. The CTC at Mavis & Britannia regularly has the weekend sale prices available on the Friday before.
  8. Amazing video...but when that thing swam right back in to get stuck a second time, I think I'd be adding the harpoon attachment to the claw and serving up fresh marlin steak for dinner
  9. I don't believe size limits have anything to do with date limits....you have to follow the posted season dates.
  10. I got the lined rubber boots from CTC also....mine don't have the funky camo at the top, but were on sale for $35 a couple years back....awesome for slush and still rated for the really cold stuff
  11. Sorry to hear it....and you are welcome to ramble as you please....enjoy those memories

  16. Yup, you're right...your wife DID ruin that moment

  18. So Gordon....how'd it go?!?!
  19. Nicely done, Homer....were most of the fish caught on Wasaksina, or on Herridge? I've been eyeing Wasaksina after a friend told me about a nice camping trip he took there.
  20. I'm a healthy maybe....would be great to meet some more OFC'ers...and I have a pile of deadbait that needs to be used up.
  21. Better yet, bring a backpack....you can carry more stuff and just put it down when you start to fish
  22. Ling it up! At least it's some action....I definitely want to target them after all I've read about their fine table fare qualities
  23. Nice way to end the season...that thing looks like those genetically altered rainbows that got posted a while back....the Ah-nold fish!
  24. Yowza!! Good thing you bounced back up....not down! A valuable lesson...thanks for sharing...glad you're okay
