Ethanol Treatment for Marine Motors.....
ecmilley replied to ccmtcanada's topic in General Discussion
Cliff if the fuel doesn't sit in your tank for more than 2 weeks at a time you should be fine, but for periods of storage any longer you start to get phase seperation of the ethanol/fuel cocktail and it sounds like this is what the newer stabil treatment is addressing, also when phase seperation occours it forms a gel in the bottom of the tank, do a visual on your tank (guessing it's an external tank). i would put it in for storage periods but if your actively usuing your boat everyweekend you should be fine -
Getting up early sunday. was greeted with howling winds and of course the can-am walleye tourny blast off at 7:00 am decided me and the 12ft tin boat were safer on shore, after doing my days house cleaning laundry shopping ect, by 3:30 I decided that I have had enough of watching the lake out the front window, jump in the boat and go, Boy was it rough at my end in that boat, but 5 minutes out hit a beauty around the 3 mark over the next 2 hours land anothr 5 eyes and a real fat perch, at this time my body was starting to rebel and scream advil and beer. Surface temps were 58-60 weeds were coming in all fish were taken in 14-16 ft of water just outside weed edges, guess i should play a day or two of hooky off work this week as well seen some mayflys on the windows the past two nights.

mepps aglia was one of my faves along with perch shad raps and black/silver j7 rapalas. but after all these years I would have to say the simple worm harness is my favorite lure, have caught lots of eyes, bass skis pike trout and every kind of panfish on a harness

congrats on the house, I deal with life insurance, rrsp and debt management on a part time basis if you have any questions shoot me a pm I'll be happy to help ya out

sounds like your on the right track poking pockets, but if there is a couple feet of water above the weeds try surface plugs such as x-raps or rogues deep cranks on the edges of weeds adjacent to the deeper water, slip float minnow always works or dragging a worm harness. Good luck and post some pics monday

great report as always Greg, thanks for sharing btw where is this cabin? i have a overnight bag and a frying pan already to go hmmm fresh trout

wellif you work there, then I'll make sure I go when your on shift. and it was 10 minutes according to my watch as well it was two people not one. in the end i do realize it's a big store and I never have a problem so long as I know what I am looking for. As for the left hand retrieve reels they are clearly marked at bps as to which ones are availabe in lhr I would expect some effort on the part of the staff to help me with my request.

check you bathroom gfi"s just reset them, could be your lights or a much bigger issue, humming can be ballast's or connection issues, ifyou don't have much knowledge PLEASE CALL a qualified electrician in for an inspection rather see you a few dollars poorer than elertocuted or reading about a house fire. also bathroom fans make sure they didn't seize up

Cliff there's all kinds of the two legged variety! but with all the turkeys and deer around couldn't see why there wouldn't be a few cougars or lynx's around anyway

Not sure about how pricing really stacks up on a lot of stuff, but did run up to Lebarons today picked up a catalyst pti with flipping in left retrieve was 123 pl tax and a $30 mail in rebate and the guy at the reel counter was more than willing to check for the left retrieve (i got the last one) while at it grabbed a 7 ft compre one piece rod for 105 and a new spool of power pro, the people i dealt with were freindly enough but most importantly they had everything in stock, just have to back next week for the colour graph

Thanks guys, I really should have asked for the manager but seeing that i work customer service as well, and just finished my 11 hour day i was in no mood to play anymore games with the two people giving me a lackluster display of knowledge, seeing i wasn't able to get what I wanted that night I didn't see any point in pursuing the matter I'll just stop at gagnons on the way home tonight and check out what they have

steamed my butt last night. I don't know maybe it's just bad luck but everytime I go there to but any kind of reel it seems there no stock on what I am looking for (like stradics the last time) I need a left hand retrieve baitcaster with a flipping option ( iuse it for bottom bouncing eyes) after checking the website and do a bit of research bps has ther own brand with what i am looking for 6.4 retrieve 7 bearings flipping option LEFT retrieve right on off to bps after work, upon arrival I stand at the counter for 10 minutes or so with no salespeople around anywhere except for the one busy on the phone, no sweat check out some more reels, then go off in search of some terminal tackle i require anyway, find most of what I am looking for go back to the reel counter now there is 3 people working there so after a fairly quick 5 minutes i tell them the reel I am looking for and immediatly am told they don't make them in a left hand retrieve ok fine i mention that the website say s there available in left am told quite quickly that the website is wrong ok fine again I pick the reel up from the display and show them the big tag theat mentions both left and right retrieve availabe, guess what they take the tag off complain to me that they were told to put that tag on, and they are not available without so much as checking, but they do offer me a left hand retrieve without a flipping option, I mention I nned the flipping option for bottom bouncing and GUESS WHAT they just walk away without trying to find me a soloution, i picked up a catalyst pti I know comes in Left but they didn't sem intrested in helping anymore. I did myself proud though kept my temper under control stayed polite and put the rest of my purchase back on the shelf. My question to everyone would be is this normal of bps customer service? anytime I've been there the people at the boat centre and on the floor have been pretty good but it seems they put all the sour pusses on the reel counter, oh well i can get the same stuff just about anywhere instead of trying to drive from Lindsay

The Opp have already started heavy enforcement of the highways inpreparation of the long weekend with pretty much zero tolerence on speeding, got a nice ticket last night on the 35 north going home from work at the usual commuter/rush hour speeds of 100 or so, while the officer was friendly and polite i was informed that there were crackng down heavily for the first long weekend. so slow down wear your seatbelt get an xtra large tims and enjoy your ride to the cottage

Should it be changed? yes of course it should. but you would be suprised how quick a flag gets destroyed in the wind once one little thread goes they seem to go to tatters in days. Do I get offended by the flag falling apart? not really, My pride in Canada isn't expressed by the flag but rather it's people and the rich history we have at coming to the aid of those in need, the living in harmony of all cultures and the fact were the best peacekeepers in the world among other things. Furthermore those fine young men that have been brought back along the highway of heros deserve better than a couple people waving canadian flags on overpasses but rather the attention and thanks from 33 million people in canada for the freedom that them and there forefathers have brought us

12 foot aluminum boat.....motor recommendations
ecmilley replied to Dabluz's topic in General Discussion
depends on the style of engine you use, I have a 12 ft sea nymph rated for 15 hp, but with a 9.9 4-stroke and my 250 lb fat-ass i can pretty much swamp the back of the boat when i am in it by myself, a 9.9 2 stroke is plenty on this boat and you won't need numbers. a 6 hp moves them around pretty good just depends on where your going to use it. -
