  1. Also if you can nip across to Niagra Falls the savings can be HUGE over Canadian prices. For some reason Canadian Tire dealers just are not giving us comparable pricing yet. We canadian tire dealers have never seen the advantage of the stronger dollar from the tire manufacters. but as far as snow tires are concerned you usually get what you pay for, the cheapos work better than all seasons but can't hardly be compared to michelin, bridgestone or continental, a good middle of the road tire is the bfg slalom. vw tdi i would use blizzak lm-25 or michelin primacy alpin, most of the vw have an h-speed rating and keeping that rating maintains your load rating as well as your handling and braking. I have been using lm-25 last couple seasons and they work real well, never been stuck on the road yet and i commute lindsay to scarborough everyday
  2. no problem maureen, didn't have my leakdown tester or borescope with me to give 100% answer, but pretty sure it's in the piston. hopefully just the headgasket but i didn't have the tools or time for the teardown, but have overheated many engines and sometimes the ring gaps get hot enough the expand and touch which will break ringlands, just hope for the best but be prepared for the worst
  3. I can look at it on the weekend if you want but it sounds electrical if it won't start again, i would say a compression check to start, then go through the engine sure we can get it running again without much problem. Iam located between bean and cliff
  4. have seen it done, but usually with the cost of the parts and the time setting it up and getting it right it would be more cost effective to sell the 9.9 and buy a 15
  5. I in the tire industry and have used hercules products and I am sorry to say they are never going to go on any of my vehicles again, there fairly cheap but pretty much bad for treadwear, traction and noise, but to each there own. I always put decent tires on my cars usually bridgestone, bfg or goodyear, but michelin pilot sports were pretty awesome on my sporty car
  6. yes just put some goodyear wrangler silent armours on the truck, work awesome in everything so far and super quiet for a all terrain tire
  7. THE price increase for mic, and bfg is slated for oct 1-2008 can see an increase of around 10% uni has already increased there prices aug 1.
  8. first off what part of the lake are you staying on, then I can point you in a better direction
  9. and i thought you needed advice on the best sandwiches for the boat other than that which lake you gonna target?
  10. got the problem all figured out now- thanks again be going out after work with some gulp and bass magnent baits and see how my luck is
  11. The fishing has been steady for me with above average numbers and size this year, still get out lots just watching the wind gets to be a pain, but on the other hand I live on the lake and can pick and choose my days.
  12. that diawa looks like an excellant deal I would go for it.
  13. The bignell's are a class act and it's a shame that I don't get over there more often seeing I am only 5 minutes up the road
  14. thanks guys I'll retie the set up tonight, i have been tying clinch knots for 25 years trying to remember to tie the palomer is worse than actually tieing it. This was my first time trying to use drop shots system fishing, it pained me to leave my regular jig, crankbait and worm harness on the shore, but the advantages were immediatly apparent with the cold front coming in. 2 small eyes in the 14 inch range dozen smallies nothing huge 2 lb max some duker bluegills. set up was a 7'3" drop shot carrot stix with a stella reel and 10 lb seagar
  15. trying out these 1/0 owner offset drop hooks and can't seem to find a knot that holds the hook straight, the package states a clinch or uni knot and the 10lb seagar line is to thick to pass through the eye to make a palomer,m any advice would be appreciated . on a side note when there on a angle to the line I am still catching a pile of fish amazing hook up on these hooks
  16. The report said he received minor wounds. the swimmer or the fisherman?
  17. would love to catch and release a few P3TA members
  18. it's a bit of a scam, I know this from personal expeirence, part of your "training" is to phone all your family co-workers and friends to recruit... or sell insurance ect. you can make lots of money for the person above you in the piramid. I am in sales for a living and this company makes me feel dirty just talking about it
  19. there's a product called sea foam that will work great at getting rid of gum and varnish run this through the engine, get some fresh fuel and that should solve the issues, but being an 89 it could be due for a carb overhaul
  20. nice bass Bill, pigs by anyone's standards
  21. Suprised we didn't see ya out there, fished non stop 2 day out on the lake, great report cliff
  22. thanks that ends that debate. tillers are better
  23. I would chose the 55 in a heartbeat, smaller motors do well in calm conditions but the minute there a bit of chop or some wind yoiu get turned right around with the smaller motors, it's worth the extra dough for the bigger one
  24. I have caught some carp flippin pads with craw powerbaits
  25. http://www.fishing-boating.com/articles/noah/woodstream.htm like i said these are great tackle trays, if there what your looking for
