  1. Yer auger sounds like it has a bad case of chicken farts, tweak the high speed a bit.
  2. When I buy, I go to Johnnys Fresh Fish & Seafood on Bryne Dr in Barrie, so far I'm not glowing in the dark.
  3. Nice catch, that pink dog, that's too much. One of these days I'll run into you guys out there.
  4. New tire and it blew, darn recycled rubbers, now that really bites.
  5. Nice post, you're right, life is short and we should get together more often. My 2 boys and one DIL got fed yesterday.
  6. How old was the trailer tire? The date is stamped on one side, like 3505, 35th week of 2005. Mine "last" 5 years and then they are replaced, regardless of distance traveled.
  7. If I'm not mistaken they fall into the "coarse" fish category, read more grasshopper and your questions will be answered. But, by then you'll probably have forgotten what you were wondering about. From the regs:Coarse fish include: gar family, bowfin, catfish family, burbot, eel and freshwater drum or sheepshead. Burbot a.k.a. Ling
  8. Although there were a number of cars and trucks out there, I wouldn't do it this year. There are still spots out there under 12".
  9. Oh ya, wouldn't go without them unless you zig zag back and forth between the thin little puffs of snow. Good luck.
  10. Went out to IBP this morning, caught a handful of junior johnsons, had my fun and then went on a trip over to Fox and a bunch further north. Everything has hardened up, there's the odd lump of frozen snow that might send you for a "bit of air" if you're not paying attention, very good for ATV travel. Crossed a couple of cracks, nothing more than 6-8 inches wide but frozen. One fellow on a snowmobile was broke down from over heating, no ice scratchers. He had a tow strap ready to go, I offered, he declined, someone else was coming to rescue him. North of Fox at portable hut city people were getting some whities and lakers, maybe I'll go back tomorrow. That's all.
  11. Hey hey hey, you be leaving my spot alone now, maybe see ya out there. Got the itch..but all the tea in China couldn't have made me scratch today. Have to practice for next weekend.
  12. Ya, just like the summer dust devils, I can't believe there's people actually going out..and then they're saying it's a total white out on the lake. Nuts. Hope no rescues are required.
  13. A quick read of OFC, then get the stuffed turkey ready for the oven for supper tonight, afterwards out to the nicely heated garage where I can go and install the new winch for the ATV.
  14. It's boom and bust whe it comes to commercial net fishing, can we remember cod on the Grand Banks.. Cut the harvest in half and enforce it, maybe then the sustainable population will recover. Oh, and enforcing doesn't mean discussing, hypothysizing or turning blind eyes that can't see the future anyway.
  15. Somehow I think that sustainability has something to do with it.
  16. I like your logic, new model 12ga. 40 round, circular mag, fully automatic, much less chance of missing. Can also be equipped with .12ga grenades if they manage to get out of range. You have a place in my society, criminals should be shipped north to Churchill, I heard the Polar bears are hungry.
  17. That's NOT for the X67C, the X67C has the power cable and transducer going into a "D" shaped connector. Part #106-68
  18. Babe Winkelman, that was a good show and his wife would give a quick clip at the end how to cook the fish.
  19. Every now and then I'll hit one of the Saturday morning fishing shows, today it was Fish TV for 5 minutes, what the heck is it with the hosts, do they go to a school of making monkey noises or do they come hatched that way? Hoooohoooo, haahaaa ooooohhhhh heeeeeheeee, is there nothing more intelligent to these types. I don't hear those noises on hunt shows or car & truck shows. The only one I can understand is Chronzy..munch munch.. munch, but, he's only filling the cake hole.
  20. Ya might have got something like that about 40 years ago, you can't even get a vacant lot for that around here.
  21. Ah okay, didn't think there'd be much water on the surface up there. Learned someting new.
  22. I can fully agree with you for Temagami, but I would imagine that the surface would be frozen with snow banks on the sides, great big long shuffle board. This thing on Simcoe looks more like a 2 foot deep water slide that the vast majority does not encounter. I'm just hoping nobody gets injured.
  23. I'm thinking the weather may well allow the snow cover to compact and make travelling a bit easier.
