  1. Skipper, if you can find a pair of the old oak office chairs, maybe at the Restore in Barrie and give them a healthy dose of marine varnish, like Valspar. I had one in my old boat, comfy, durable and with the side arms you can snooze and not list overboard. No vinyl to get stuck to and no cheezy hinges to break.
  2. Yep, she was quite the number, keep ya laughing for sure.
  3. Well here's my attempt, 2 sleeves, one body and collar, 2 pockets and a bunch of buttons, now I'm sure someone out there will be able to figure out how to make a shirt out of that.
  4. Hahahaha, I left that one for you knowing that you'd go and look. I got the dark one, a green one and a beige one.
  5. Got the last 3 XL size at Molson Pk, these shirts definitely keep you from burning in the sun. And at the price they're going, I got 3 for 1 compared to what I paid at BPro in the spring, damm thieves.
  6. You ought to try being the batter for that game, must be the stitching in the balls that keeps them together, squrrils don't hold up so well.
  7. You can get seals at Canada Bearing. Ask specifically for the double lipped version. They work much better for boat trailers in the water. The single lipped versions are okay for land use.
  8. If you have a bench grinder around, keep one of the old cones and lightly grind off the outside. You can then use it to reset the new cone as you drive it in, that way you won't be beating the new one to hell. As for preloading bearings, I've never done it, and have not had any bearing issues. If they're too tight, you'll burn them out before you hit the first stop sign. A bit of slack is better than too tight.
  9. The inner cone may not be properly seated causing the race to only contact part of it.
  10. Just shrink the size of the holes in the nets and then there won't be anything left. Nets are for hockey, soccer, etc. It would be cheaper to just throw more bad money out there with no nets allowed. At least then there would be no more nets full of rotting fish at all.
  11. If you can find one, the 03-07 Rams with a Cummins can't be beat, even towing a 5k travel trailer I got 18.5mpg, empty it get's up to 25mpg on highway, 22 around town.
  12. Bilge pump is for the basement or root cellar..
  13. I close the door and turn on the satellite and TV and look for the fishing shows. If it's too grumpy, I close up the trailer and go home. Anyone can get uncomfortable, some need practice.. Matter of fact, last sunday morning was a bit of a comedy watching soaked campers roll up their tents and contents and throw them into the back of their trucks and leave. There's not too many tents even with a good fly that will hold off the rain. A good tarp with extra overhang all around gives you a bit more of a chance.
  14. My grudge has always been that thing get turned in the commercial netters favour. Last time I checked, nylon was invented until around 1935, so how the hell did nylon gill nets become part of the treaty. Canoes that run into tugboats with modern engines are another stumbling point.
  15. It's long overdue that some of these so called judges should suffer the same fate as the victims. Maybe then they would have a bit more compassion for the victims and send the crimies up to Churchill as polar bear food.
  16. I'm not religious, but you might want to pray. For your own curiosity, google "battery sulfation" and you will find out what happens to an idle battery that undergoes no maintenance. Your money, time to learn and save.
  17. Ya, water levels going down, dredge the channel deeper. If you're not in the channel, poof you run aground. The worst is they keep dredging and the water levels keep going down. I know Mother Nature has input, but there's a limit to everything.
  18. Number one advice, the bench seats are part of the integral structure of the hull. You take them out and it's like a lobster, without a shell, everything becomes floppy. If anything use the front bech as part of the structure for the casting deck. Friend of mine did what you want to do and ended up putting a wicked crack/fracture in the lower hull from flexing. Your boat, be careful.
  19. It's evident that opinions about personal road travel and directions are as rampant as those who think they are good drivers.
  20. Yes, why do we (taxpayers=government)have to keep pounding money in there. If they are not self sufficient and can't make a decent profit to fund themselves, then let them sink. You don't see everyone else getting handouts.
  21. How about going the other way and putting a stud in from the back and then the nut goes on from the front, pretty sure Princess Auto has different sizes.
  22. Hopefully they were following the "one person aboard" rule while refueling for built in tanks. Portable tanks must be filled on shore.
