  1. A few years back, I ran a couple 6" pieces of apple through the jointer, had a garbage bag full in short time. A good size jack plane will do it too. Whats a jack plane..http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_plane
  2. Well, they all must have been on their way to the Darwin awards. Just prior to the pile up, police had radar on, most traffic rolling at 125km/h. Just got that off the news.
  3. I got mine about 7 years ago from Cabelas, used them up on Nippissing a bunch of years ago, me in the cottage and the boys in the ice hut, they worked quite well. Used them on a couple of deer hunts with about 5km distance between the guys, mine was the only one to make the connection, that's why I recommend getting the higher power ones.
  4. Found it, looks okay in Barrie. http://barrie.ctvnews.ca/more/traffic-cameras
  5. Don't know can't find the barrie webcams that show the roads. Apparantely 400 north closed at 89
  6. First 40 car pile up on the 400N at 89. Unbelievable.
  7. If you can, buy from a US source, "down there" they allow up to 5watt GMRS/FRS radios, "up here" we only get the 2 watt radios. Makes a whole heapin lot of difference.
  8. History said Chris Colombo found the new world, he arrived loooong after the Vikings had left. Wasn't long ago the moon was made of cheese....
  9. Okay, where's the button for that option..well maybe never mind. I can just see some of the guys half pickled trying to talk to the computer..
  10. Well you know which way this would have gone if he hadn't done what he did. "Crazy motorist runs over bear in a hit and run fashion leaving the injured animal to die a slow and agonizingly painful death". He should have stopped and dispatcherd it with whatever means at hand.
  11. What Bernie said, and pay attention which direction the tree grew. Cut with the top of the tree pointed down, if you can't figure that out, look at which way the branch stubbs are pointing. Steel wedge and 14 pound sledge. And wear safety glasses, they stop your eyeballs from falling out from the pain if you wack yerself in the shins with a 14lb sledgehammer.
  12. Grade 5 in Mrs Sandbloms class in the portable, Principle Geddes called out all the teachers and she came back crying. BTW, anyone watch that documentary on discovery about the most likely story. Looks like he was accidentally shot by the SS.
  13. Well what did you want him to do, go back and forth over it a few times with his truck.
  14. X2, just another over zealous photog trying to make a name for themselves. When stuff happens, you sometimes have to resort to using the tools at hand, this time it was a rock, something we learned from caveman.
  15. What do you use it for...blowing snow with a big big prop...
  16. For those who wish to take care of their batteries, P/A has the CTEK battery maintainers coming on a decent sale starting tuesday, 2 models.
  17. Sorry to burst everyones bubble, but that was only a private members bill and even though the vote approved of the "idea", that does not make it law yet, far from it. It has to go before many boards such as MTO, OPP and a host of others that all throw in their thoughts. Then it has to back to the legislature for 3 more readings before any possible hope of making it an amendment to the regulation. Part of the problem with side x sides is their width, a lot of country roads don't have a wide enough shoulder to allow their use, so now you're riding half on, half off the road and becoming an obstacle(hazard) to other vehicular traffic. Why people buy them when the rules don't allow road use in the southern part of the province kinda makes you wonder. Maybe dealers should clue people in to that fact.
  18. I've used Bounce sheets, the mice thanked me for providing a nice nest for them, I used mothballs, they played soccer with them. Fox pee is a natural repellant, it's an enemy to them and they don't hang around.
  19. Turn it over and see where it's made, then call back in 23 years and see if it still keeps the food or drink hot. They are not made in the US for about the past 5+ years.
  20. Needed some stainless nuts and bolts for the boat. Did you remember to get your tag.. otherwise you'll be eatin track stew or tail soup..
