  1. The forecast is Heavy rain tonight with flooding extending to Tuesday morning. 8-10 inches likely with winds at 30- 40 MPH and gusts to 50 MPH in areas. The big boat is double lined and set with 4 ft leashes for coastal flooding. The danger here is the rain saturating the ground and the trees blowing down on the power lines. They have other crews coming in from other states but the trees on the roads and the winds will make a power outage more than likely 3-5 days depending on what day it goes out. This is the forecast we have planned for we hope it is less but they have been pretty close on the storm forecasts around here being our governments power base being so close to us. Thanks for the well wishes we will keep you posted if we have power and internet. Art
  2. Nope you got me Bob I'm not sure how the world will continue if we all don't buy a Tundra. The fact that I had 6000 lbs between the boat and the equipment I was bringing up North might have something to do with my gas milage. The 75 Mph speed we averaged didn't help either. I'm glad you are happy with the Tundra my experiences with them paints a much blacker picture hence the Ford in my life. Art
  3. Sorry to hear this Paul it is good that the memories live on in you and others hearts. Art
  4. Good move Lew I have the 2012 Eco Boost as you saw at Lak Air. Mine went to Canada and back loaded 12 hours straight and pulling the Ranger boat averaged 14.5 MPG. That may seem low to some but I have the 4X4 with the 3.72 gear set and E locker combo. The tow package in the trucks are set up right and it is a bull of a truck. I average 17 MPG without the boat around town and highway otherwise. I would check on the rock guard on the intercooler Ford does not want the air flow obstructed and can void the warrentee if it is a heat related failure from what I was told. Art
  5. I have tried to bust up 4 okuma reels for 3 seasons with catfish up to 55 lbs so far no failures or repairs. I especially like the way you can go from free lining to engaged with a fish running that move has toasted may a lesser reel in my past. Art
  6. I found the answer in the link you provided. "EZ Dock’s modular, floating sections are quick and easy to install. Do it yourself, or hire an EZ Dock dealer to do it for you. " Hope this helps. Art
  7. Thanks Mark for another informative video. Art
  8. I say enjoy the addiction it is fun and has few side effects. Nice fish and the dogs face is priceless. Art
  9. Replace the seats I did on my Ranger and the technology in the way the new seats cushion and support you is like night and day. I have a 68 year old fishing buddy who went from grimacing to smiling on rough days and it makes me feel better too. Very nice ride to fish and tool around in no matter which seats you decide on. Art
  10. Rumor has it he has a box with some really cool pieces of wood ready to turn. Walnut, Ambrosia Maple, Cherry to name a few. Art
  11. You did a great job getting that decal on straight good Job Bud. Art
  12. Im betting it was aliens Lew. Art
  13. I use it to cast in the calm evenings to pods of minnows and let it sink thru the school and get the fish down below. Art
  14. Shaker rig and pig and jigs on secondary weed lines and points. Art
  15. Most likely normal but I run two strokes so I can't say. A quick compression test would put your mind at ease as far the condition of your piston and rings from the break in procedure. Art
  16. I used one for two weeks and a 45lb Catfish ate the gears out of it. I had another one and sent it to GBW I am not sure how much life he has gotten out of it. I think the main issue was the body of the reel flexed to much and let the gears separate and jammed. I would think for smaller fish that don't have the shoulders of the big cats would be good for a season. I have switched to okuma reels non metered and have nothing but praise for them. I paid around $145 each and IO run 5 of them for 2 seasons with no issues. Art
  17. Very nice report and looks like a good time was had by all. Is I looked at the pictures of the walk in the woods I though "Joey's bearbaiting" lol but I know that bear would have to come thru you before he got close to ralphy. Art
  18. I got to second the advise of Roy a trip to Spiel's can often get you a repaired rod and a viewing of some of the nicest hand built rods you will ever get to see. I have abandoned my collection of St Croix and Loomis for the rods he built both for the quality and the ability to make a handle that fits my hands better (fatter) and balanced for the reel I choose for it. I am sorry if my last post appeared to imply anything it was not meant too. What I was trying to say is a local repair might be faster and better if they decided to not repair it as a warrentee. Art
  19. This warranty is limited to repair or replacement of the rod, reel or rod blank only, and does not cover direct, indirect, consequential, incidental or any other type of damage resulting from the use of the product. This warranty does not cover accident, misuse, neglect, normal wear, fire, theft, loss, intentional damage or value added from the construction of a custom rod from a St. Croix blank. You might check before mailing it with the fee to mail and the $20.00 return you might be able to get it repaired locally cheaper and quicker. Rods that are defective usually show there flaws within the first few uses. Art
  20. All hail the mighty Pig He can change vegetables into Bacon. Life is all about balance if you balance the foods you eat with the exercise you need and the ying and yang of life you will live a long time with or without bacon. Art
  21. The jack plate will change the torque points on the transom. Lund has not had a engineer certify that the transom can stand the new torque points. It may not be an issue in this case but Lund has to protect themselves from people who deviate in manners that do damage the transom. The legal stance is "in for a penny in for a pound" without that stance there is no black and white line of right and wrong. Art
  22. If I had the time off to take a trip of a life time I would hire Mike in a heartbeat. Art
  23. Gray wolf the reason you will not get a specific spot description is here in the OFC rules. It is to prevent all of our guest and members from showing up all at once. Please do not post VERY SPECIFIC information on fishing spots, ie pinpoint locations and maps. It is our belief that sharing this type of knowledge to the general public is not at all good for the resource itself. When communicating info on spots, please keep it to email or a PM. Art
  24. I always have loved that joke. The funny part is what would a Southern idiot like me know about Salmon. Art
  25. This road always ends in hurt feelings so let's discuss this intelligently after the court hearing. Art
