  1. You have to know what your motors redline is. Once at full throttle, trim up until you are just under that. If you cannot get to the redline (or close) without porposing or cavitating, your motor or prop needs changing/adjusting. I didn't like taking off from full down trim, but just a shade above that. Remember that at full speed and full trim, the boat will handle VERY differently and you need to drop the motor a bit before starting a turn. If you feel chine walking, bring the trim down a touch until it stops. (Usually only an issue with big motors). Adjust your trim as you go by very small increments...you do not want to bring it up or drop it down fast...the change in torque is extremely noticeable.
  2. There are lots of camping opportunities in the Kawartha Lakes and some in the Muskoka Lakes. All within 3 hours of Toronto. Venture a bit further north of Rice Lake for more chances.
  3. The carp are so massive, that standing fully upright risks blowing out a knee. Don't do it, man. It's like hockey....sure it's fun, but remember you still have to go to work tomorrow.
  4. Berber is a looped carpet ...its actually more of a carpet weave then a carpet. It is actually a giant pain in the azz and not worth the trouble of having it. A cut loop will last longer (berbers unravel badly if the dog catches a loop in his nail ...unraveled loops should be trimmed with scizzors immediately). One of the trouble with a berber is that they will hold stains and dirt very heavily. You are probably walking on some type of spill that has matted the fibres. If a good steam cleaning and vaccuming doesn't soften up the fibres, toss it and get new stuff. 100% wool berbers are actually not bad, but very rare. The newer no-stain nylon carpets (cut pile) are far more durable and long lasting. Just make sure it is all nylon and not a mix nylon/olefin. The more money you spend on padding, the longer your carpet will last.
  5. Clear your OFC cookies, Steve and try again. No issues here that I can see. We went to a new server the other day, so your cookies or DNS cache may be buggered.
  6. I had a site hosted by Look Communications for a few years. It became incredibly expensive when compared to other options out there. So I cancelled the account in August 2006. Then a few months later, they sent me an invoice for $200. I called and said that the account had been cancelled and I needed them to rectify this. They said okay, no problem. About 3 months later I get another invoice for the same amount. Again, I call them and they apologise for the error. Today I get a call from a collection agency for the $200!!! Now I'm pissed. I don't care about the $200. I was with them for many years and they got several thousand dollars out of me. Now I host or control dozens of websites and if they think I will ever send them a customer again, they are nuts. So far the collection agency has been very good to me and they are going to chat with Look and see what the deal is. I may have to pay it to preserve my credit rating. Amazing that companies like this still exist. You don't dispute my claim on the phone that this is your error and then send it to collections?? Either their staff is irresponsible or their business practices are suspect. either way, you all should be forewarned!
  7. Yeah I hear ya. This crap I can remember, but I spend an hour each day looking for my car keys.
  8. They use thermal scanning so cloud cover distorts the readings.
  9. Click CTRL while scrolling with mouse wheel.
  10. Late last night we were moved to a new server. Apparently we were taking up a bit too much resources on the other server and causing some issues. I've often complained about bigger sites sucking up all the resources and have never been part of the one doing it before now. It was merely a coincidence that this happened right after Irishfield had access to a computer.
  11. My parents lived on the lake for a time. At night the walleye come close to shore and will take a minnow or leech under a pencil bobber. Lots of bass around and if you know where to look, some nice brook trout. Largemouth are where you would expect to find them, smallies around the deep drop offs and on the flats in the western bay. There's some creek mouths that attract fish after a rain.
  12. Yes the police (OPP or local) also have jursidiction over resource laws. It is clear that some of them do not have a complete grasp of the laws, and it's no wonder. We spend half our lives fishing (the other half wasted) and struggle with the laws sometimes. All monies from licenses and from fines levied on resource violtors does indeed go to the MNR. While the waterways are federally controlled, they usually direct reponsibilty to the province. The wildlife in the water is partly provincially regulated and part federally regulated.
  13. What's your budget, Crazyhook? Most hosting companies have simple pagemakers as part of their services. You can do a web page in an hour if you need to. Takes longer for the DNS to propogate.
  14. I have a feeling the actual numbers are quite a bit less. Besides, anyone eating 100-200 bass will soon be quite unable to continue (they'll be dead from the toxins).
  15. You can also call the Niagara Regional Police. I must be a pretty lousy fisherman cause I've never come close to catching over 100 fish there.
  16. I will disable teh default skin till we can find the issue. We had some troubles with the software before, so there may be a file pathway error.
  17. I would use a card reader and see if they are still there. Deleting images only opens up the space to be written over. It doesn't actually erase anything, but the camera can no longer read the images...a PC might...not sure.
  18. They show up on my Firefox.
  19. Southern Ontario is going to get a noreaster tonite. Nothing major by the looks of the thing, but it is there none the less. Should make Lake O a mess later.
  20. The licenses difference only applies to possession. Anyone telling you otherwise has not read the regs carefully. Of course, our regs are written so poorly it is hard to get to the good stuff.
  21. I would not go on Erie in a Bayliner. Just my opinion, but I think they are terrible boats. In the classifeid section here, Shaun R posted a few boats for sale that look ready for Erie. You live on the shore, so you know how ugly it can get and how fast. What do you want to be in the day you get caught out there? You will get caught..it happens to everyone eventually.
  22. The ducks here shake you down if you run out of bread...beat your ass and take your wallet. At least you have reasonably polite ducks. Looks like the future palace has got off to an amazing start.
  23. The hat plunks a nice big 'L' on your forehead...hmm...
  24. Server load and memory usage is a little high, so I'm guessing since it is Sunday they are running maintenance.
