  2. ENFIELD 2A1 BOLT ACTION .308 RIFLE, interesting I thought they were all .303.
  3. LOL HTHM, you do have to be careful though? My neighbors have horses, one year when my dog was young one of them had a foal. When we would go outside for a walk he wanted to go play with the little horse running around, that might not have gone well? I was out for a walk with my youngest daughter when she was like 5-6, and she has a thing for horses too, so she was petting one of the adult horses thru the fence and I see a pained look on her face, the horse accidentally stepped on her foot! No damage, but she learned to watch when they moved.
  4. Only one owner?
  5. LOL, that was cool!
  6. I wish they would do that here in the states, every time it gets proposed in congress it gets shelved or voted down. I had a basic cable package, 64 channels and it cost me about 65 bucks a month, no premium channels. I went to a bare bones cable package, 23 channels for 22 bucks a month, and the viewing choices of interest to me are the same! LOL I look at some of the choices on a premium cable package and wonder what it costs to subsidize those channels? Will it cost more? It might bring a dose of reality to some of the channels? When they find out how few people want to pay to support them? They way it stands now here they have you over a barrel.
  7. I don't use it anymore, but look at the costs of Marijuana prohibition here in the states? You actually had less hassles getting caught with small amounts here in Ohio in the 60's and 70's, then they made crime and punishment a cash cow. It's the roaring 20's all over again? but now reefer is the bad guy and not alcohol? If Ontario legalizes it? Someone here might build a tunnel under Lake Erie to get it? LOL
  8. Cliff, as I recall you do a lot of work on them? Save some drain oil from them, it works also.
  9. Never had it happen, I put one of these on my steering cable. http://www.walmart.com/ip/SeaChoice-28251-Ss-Steering-Guard-7-8/32739032
  10. Sir, could you see minnows in any of the locations you tried? I never tried trapping them this time of year, maybe they are in deeper water due to water temperatures?
  11. You have to be careful when purchasing an insurance policy, most require an optional plan to cover flooding. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flood_insurance Some years ago, in the 70's or 80's I think? They closed some towns along the Mississippi river because they kept flooding. http://www.stltoday.com/news/local/metro/look-back/look-back-great-flood-of-overwhelms-record-set-years-earlier/article_7872a8fe-bdf6-5aef-9991-7f0d827cbcc1.html Actually it was 1993. Even in my general area there are some areas that are flood prone, mostly in river valleys. Beautiful areas as long as there are no floods. People seem to be content to lose everything and rebuild there.
  12. Glad to hear that Art, same thing here, rain and more rain! Just glad it's not snow!
  13. Cool! Not sure what is available up there, here some wood processors sell bundles of slab wood cheap. If you have access to the right tools it would be easy to plane 8-10 foot 1 inch boards out of them.

  15. The guy is a guide on that lake, his business will probably get a bump? Ugly Sticks aren't the most sensitive rods out there, but they are tough, and fairly inexpensive. Catfish aren't Salmon, they aren't known for blazing runs? A properly set drag and some time and you wear them out, 30 pound test is fine for that. If you are in a boat fishing it makes it easier, they lead, you follow! LOL There was a campground near me that also ran a couple of pay to fish catfish ponds, nothing as huge as those, but a chance at one 40-50 pounds. Ohio used to have a number of places like that, most ran the cat fishing deal from dusk till dawn. It gave people a place to park their lawn chairs and suck back a few beers while fishing.
  16. That is a big fish, and two in that range in a day?

  18. 1.) I haven't taken a starter apart in 45 years or so, things have probably changed? The starters had motor brushes in them and they would wear, on small block chevy engines they were located on the rear end of the starter as I recall. It was pretty easy to take a length of pipe, wood, steel bar and put it on the back end of the starter and tap it while someone else was turning the key. Back in the day you could buy a new set of stater motor brushes and springs at the auto parts store, they were easy to replace.
  19. Have a merry and safe Christmas!
  20. 9:45 pm, I don't recall ever having so much lightning and thunder in December! It's like a summer storm here.
  21. LOL, Lew, it's not like we are a tax free country either! Politicians even tax the phone service they use to contact you, it's kind of like biting the hand that feeds them? I really haven't traveled much, most of my vacations were pick a destination with a purpose. The area where Joe and Art are? You could probably spend a month in the area and still not see it all, it just depends on your interests?
  22. I had a problem with the site earlier today also, but the next time I tried, about 5 minutes later, all was good.
