Yes TJ, they are a couple of treasures that need care? -
I must be really old? I remember when nail weights were actually nails! or small screws. Senkos work, as does the wacky rig, just a different presentation of a plastic worm? I think the salt content of some of those soft plastics makes them prone to rearing up easily, and sticking a hook in the middle without an O ring or strap just makes it worse? Search ebay for VIENNA NASAL SPECULUM and you can find a strap tool (Stainless steel medical grade) 3 of them for less than the plastic strap tool.

Broken tip? and how much of the rod itself? Like Akri and Crow mentioned, the rod may not feel the same, and how much is broken off will be a factor. If you epoxy a new eye on? figure on having to cut it off if it should break again, ferrule cement like in Terry's picture works best. l

" The Ohio smallmouth record is held by Randy VanDam, who caught a 9.5-pounder out of Lake Erie in June of 1993. " LOL, after 30? years of eating gobies they are getting bigger? There may have been a chance for a 10 pound spotted bass if they had added them instead of Coho?

Bruce, just curious, emerald shiners the bait of choice?

No idea how much they enjoyed the winners circle spotlight, but playing fair prevents what they are facing now. No one to blame but themselves, they may need guards to watch their vehicles and trailers when trying to er... fun fish now? I can't picture any tournament allowing them to enter.

I don't know of any live release walleye tournaments on Lake Erie here Rizzo, although I don't follow them closely. The dudes finished first in the Fall Brawl here last year and one of them couldn't pass the required polygraph test and they were disqualified, no evidence at that time they were cheating, but passing the test is mandatory. The guy running the tournament is a local area cop and noticed hard spots on the fish. It is the fall feed season here for the walleye and they are gorging, fish caught later in the brawl can be 2-3 pounds heavier than a fish of the same length caught early.

As I understand it these were the same guys that were leading the fall brawl tournament last year on Lake Erie and couldn't pass the lie detector test. https://www.news5cleveland.com/news/local-news/fishermen-accused-of-adding-weights-to-fish-to-win-popular-lake-erie-fishing-tournament

LOL, interesting at least, we had no clue what he had hooked, and it wasn't in much of a hurry to come up and show us, never knew they got that big back then.
