  1. Snow is almost gone here again, that will probably change in a day or two, it`s still March, but Muskies are in season.
  2. there's a reason top anglers use Japanese lures when money is involved or they want to max out their success. LMAO, I didn`t see KVD throwing Japanese lures in the classic? I think they were made in China? If you think the price of a lure makes it better? keep buying them.
  3. The knob and tube was the way they wired old homes, back in the days before romex. I think they stopped using it in the 60`s in some areas? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Knob_and_tube_wiring
  4. I agree with solo on this, I have caught 10 bass on ten casts using them, 4 walleye on 6 casts, pike, crappie. Like anything though, you don`t go fishing with one lure? Sometimes they are hot sometimes there are better choices in your lure selection. A great search bait, but a spinnerbait can be also, and is more snag free.
  5. Actually in April and May fishing for smallies in the back bays of lake Erie. Regardless of what most people think they are vacuum cleaners, they will eat anything that is convenient as a food source. Huge schools of them here, they will get into an area and muddy the water up rooting in the bottom like pigs. It can get the crawfish moving around in an area, which is why we hit those areas, it also attracts smallies. When you set the hook on a 25-60 pound carp though the "feel" is a bit different. As long as the water is cool, 50-60 degrees, they are sort of sluggish, it is easy to follow them around in the boat with the electic motor and land them on fairly light tackle. Late May and June here they are starting the spawn and lauching themselves into the air, far more active, and they head for anything in the water once hooked. Using a medium action spinning rod and 8-10 pound test line just means they will break you off once they get to docks or wood.
  6. Helping Lew build the Ark, maybe we can fish off of it? 3pm Saturday it was in the 50`s rain all day and the snow was gone. By 11pm a sheet of ice and snow mix. There has been flood warning for all 88 counties in Ohio off and on all week.
  7. Tubes, but they made the choice.

  11. I guess that would depend on your expectations? Take a look at the Lunge Lodge`s photo pages, there are fish there?
  12. If bass keeps showing it`s anglers pulling bass off of spawning beds carp might be all that are left? Heck anyone that catches carp is a friend of mine! use a gorge hook.
  13. And you can buy or prescription drugs cheaper than we can! On the bright side? we pay about half what they pay in Europe for gas.

  15. Friends used to go to Monroe Michigan and fish the hot water discharge area for bass in the winter, it worked.
  16. A buddy fished a spring tournament at Kentucky lake in his newer 40k Triton, hit two logs. Broke the transom, turned the lower unit on his 225 merc. Insurance covered it, dude what are you doing trying to run around a lake after the winter melt at 70-80 miles an hour? Most of us didn`t do much more than laugh at him, lucky you didn`t kill your stupid self?
  17. There is something inherently wrong with a system of government that allows the richest 2 or 3 percent of the population to control the lives of the other 97-98 percent? Kings and queens with a different title, they still believe they are royalty. What is good for them is all that counts.
  18. Most lures are designed to catch fishermen, some may catch fish?
  19. A brand new Dodge Tradesman van cost me 3100 bucks out the door in 1973, a brand new 3 bedroom, bath and a half home 28,900 in 1975. A brand new 1979 Plymouth Volare, 4500 bucks in 1979.
  20. They sell just what you need in some places down here... JOLT COLA Jolt Cola; "Twice the sugar and twice the caffeine." [12 fl. oz/354 mL]
  21. We call that white stuff snow down here, it has to be cold for it to appear.
  22. Dang! you even get custom prices!
  23. I think it kind of sad, as a kid Abu reels were considered the best out there, I don`t personally know any one that buys them now. I haven`t bought a new Abu reel since the 80`s.
  24. Yes, maybe the best ever, very consistent, always a threat.
  25. The principal is actually pretty simple, you can`t continue to spend and cut your income (taxes) at the same time and expect your debt to go down? None of our elected leaders seem to understand it? Hail to the chief?
