  1. Jer, I agree with M&S with the Massasauga. It is all boat access and has some great sites! The only down side for the ladies is the thunderbox toilets! Send me a PM if you want more info. I have been going there since 1990.
  2. Gerritt, rubbing compound will remove the scuff on the paint quite nicely.
  3. It sounds to me like a fuel problem. Did you have old gas in the tank or was the motor not winterized and run dry?
  4. I was wondering if anyone knows how many amps the alternator puts out on a 75 hp 4 stroke Merc when cruising?
  5. You can't win if you don't play!
  6. Interesting, you wouldn't want to put a carp into your backyard fish pond.
  7. I like the solar powered motor shown in picture #3! If you plan on using the boat alot, you might want to consider adding a livewell into the middle seat?
  8. Hey Bill, you can't access the French from Hwy 69, only the Pickeral as Solo said. My buddies and I use to go there every year until 1988 and switched to the Moon River because of the drive and the lack of fish. You lose a full day between the drive and and back again when you go that far so you really need to go for 3 or 4 days. I personally prefer going to the Moon so that more time can be spent on fishing rather than the travel. You have to remember that it takes a few years of going to the same place in order to learn where all of the good spots are. So may people what the quick trip where the fishing is great the first time and that never happens. Rarely do I read about people who go to a place for the first time and post great results.
  9. I was taking scenery shots up on Georgian Bay two summers ago and decided to get a few shots at water level. In this shot my dog swam in front of the camera as I pushed the shutter down!
  10. Try camping at the Massasauga PP. I've seen them at my campsite twice now in the last 4 years.
  11. Jerry, your conscience should decide, not by polling it on an internet board. How do you mark my vote?
  12. Ironically I just got two in my garage this week!
  13. I have the Anchor Buddy bungie rope which stretches from 12 feet up to 50 feet. I holds my boat in place in very high waves. I highly recommend this device. Here is a link with more info: Anchor Buddy
  14. I never really gave any thought to fibreglass when I bought my Legend. I looked at a ton of boats at the boat show for a few years and only saw what I liked in aluminum. Fibreglass fishing boats were typically larger bass boat styles. As you can see in the picture below, my boat suits many purposes! One thing that I highly recommend is a full windshield which comes in really handy on a rough or cold day. You can always put up the full cover if needed.
  15. NNNooooooooo. Sorry
  16. Oil share that one with others thanks!
  17. Try this website. I've had lots of luck here: Cottage Link
  18. The first year that I owned by boat in 2002, I went through two fuel senders (electronic fuel gauge) inside my fuel tank. I later found out that ethanol ruins the circuit board that the components are mounted on. I stopped putting Sunoco gas in my boat and have not had a problem since that time. Now Esso states that their gas also contains ethanol. Shell is not stating this yet, so I am buying my fuel from them.
  19. I like the suggestion about changing his hours so that he starts and finishes later since he doesn't seem to be able to make it in for his assigned time you are accomodating his travel schedule! See what he thinks of that. If it doesn't work, then speak to HR to find out how they want it handled since the employee is giving you no respect. They should know how to deal with his kind. But you really should take some initiative yourself first before approaching them.
  20. Bill still runs the place. I was talking to a guy who was fishing the falls beside me last May who stays there on and off all year. Bill lets the guy keep his boat docked at the resort all year long. He had nothing but good things to say about the place.
  21. Call a reputable hitch place. They should be able to tell you the correct height.
  22. No Fish, here are a couple more maps that show the boat routes through the area. This will give you a good idea of where Port Rawson Bay is. It shows right at the top middle of the map where one route ends. Are you looking for a more private location?
  23. Kyle, it wasn't me that gave you the tip. Holdfast, the straight and Blackstone are heavily fished and have alot of boating pressure. You will have much more luck going off the beaten path and fishing areas that have much less boat traffic. Nofish, Musky or Specks is right that Port Rawson is a great place to camp and should be really private in May. The cruisers aren't out yet but the Blackflies might be! The only downside is that the distance is almost 7 miles, so if you have a small boat that is loaded down with gear, it will take quite awhile to get there.
  24. Holdfast, I have been going there since 1990 and bank new good spots every year and have many old tried and true spots. Some become non-productive as the waterlevel changes, but some do not. What area did you fish when you were there and waht time of year was it? Have you been more than once?
