  1. Happy Birthday Wayne. I am peeling from the Florida burn!
  2. Life or money. That question would be a no brainer for me.
  3. You really need to pin down the year before you can put up an asking price. In the mean time, why don't you put masking tape over the decals and other non-paint areas and give her a couple of coats of paint to make her look better? Of course, you should sand down the paint chip areas first.
  4. a great post Wayne! There is no ice here on the Gulf of Mexico!
  5. What if I told you that I was going to the Leafs game tonight?
  6. Well here I am in St. Petersburg IN 85 degree weather reading about ice fishing posts back home. Well I've go to tell you that I am not missing the cold right now. I was swimming in the gulf today. The water was beautiful and warm! Spring is just around the corner.
  7. Hey ColdH2Oguy, do you know a guy in your town called Richard Shrivels? AKA Dick
  8. I've done it but what size and type of boat do you have? Do you know where you want to place it?
  9. Wayne, check out the shoals on that PM that I sent you using this site!
  10. Thanks for the site. The images are more up to date than Google Maps.
  11. I would suspect that there would be plenty of loose rivets if this is not a welded hull. If so, you should contact Wayne (Irishfield) for some advice as he does custom work on airplanes.
  12. Wayne, you are the luckiest bum alive! I am extremely jealous. I love trying to figure out the land forms without reading the captions like the shot of Present and Beuseile Island, then Giants Tomb later on. I sent you a PM with a summer time hotspot.
  13. Glenn, I have not stayed there but did launch there a few years back and was talked into buying some very specific bottom bouncing worm harnesses and tackle that ended up getting me skunked. They guy insisted that this was the only technique that would work because of the Zebra Mussel water clarity problem. Watch out for the Bull if you stay there.
  14. My advice would be to first take a course on small business ownership and entrepreneurship. I took this course at York University a few years back and it was quite an eye opener to find out how little that I knew about starting and running a small business. At the end of the course we had to right a complete business plan for a new startup company including all of the research that relates to government regulations, taxes, lines of credit with the banks etc. We were told that a bank will not even consider a small business line of credit or loan without a well thought out business plan. You need to short and long-term goals that go out as far as 5 years into the future. So do yourself a favour and first come up with a viable idea and then educate yourself to help you decide if you are throwing away your money, or stand a good chance to start up a new dream! Like others said, expect long ours and little financial reward in the first few years. Good luck!
  15. Thanks for voting everyone. Here is the final tally: 66 votes in total 45% said that they do take vehicles on the ice weather on a regular basis 55% said that they do not take vehicles on the ice One point that I found interesting was the number of people that do take vehicles on the ice are from further north, ie not southern Ontario like myself. Of course this makes more sense because the climate is more stably colder thus making for thicker safer ice.
  16. So in light of all of the recent postings about vehicles going through the ice, I thought that this might be an interesting poll. Please feel free to add any comments with your post. Here are my comments: So first and foremost you risk your life being trapped in the vehicle if it breaks through the ice. Secondly, if your insurance company won't cover any loss and you could end up paying for environmental damage as well, why risk it?
  17. I've been noticing for a few months now that pages are slow to open on this website. Even when you hit the back button I find the same thing. I noticed that at the bottom of the browser a message says waiting for googleads.g.doubleclick.net. Is the board site host using some tracking software that slows down the navigation between pages here? Does anyone know the answer to this or why the board is slower? I find it on any of my laptops. Both are quite new and run on different OS.
  18. Wayne, that green colour on your boat looks familar? HUM
  19. Brian, My wife and I have been skiing at Snow Valley for the past seven years while the kids are in lessons. They have an 8 winter weekend lesson program, so we have always made a day of it. This way the kids get to practice what they learned and have lots of fun while making the most out of our long Canadian winters. Snow Valley has over 350 instructors and offers a great intro package. It is called Discover skiing. For $40 you get a rental package, 75 minute lesson and a 4 hour lift ticket for the bunny hill, which is all that you need for the first time out. If she likes it, you can go back for the Discover skiing 2 package. If she is comfortable, the instructor will take her on the longer runs. They are the most flexible family orientated ski operation in all of Ontario. My 15 year old daughter became an instructor there this year after allot of training and full certification. She loves the job and loves the staff there. There are very professional people and really nice to all of their customers. You can't go wrong with this resort!
  20. I wonder if Jim78 on page #2 is actually the owner of the operation? Can the mods check the email address on this account? The reply sounds to mushy to me.
  21. When my buddy and I camp at the Massasauga every July, we take water on the boat with is and go back to the campsite a couple of times per day to eat, swim and have a couple of beers. We use to take a couple of pints out with us, but not any more. We never got wasted on the water, but get pulled over every year, so it is really not worth the $200 plus fine.
  22. Funny one SNAG! I call my fishing buddy Relic! Him and I sometimes stand up and hold onto the windshield when we are tooling along.
  23. Funny Nemo! "What did the ladies say?" How about "Is he still married?!!!!!"
  24. Good luck with the project Marcus. Do you go to Sacred?
